As the summer months approach and new games make their way to our horizon, we have been making some changes to help streamline progression in the community. This month, we announce the removal of the contribution requirement that has been a problematic hurdle for most in the modern MMO landscape. In addition, in an effort to bring awareness and recognition to all of those who contribute to the longevity of the Gaiscioch Community, we have built a special section for our supporters.
Contribution Requirements Removed
As modern games have been moving away from Player-to-Player direct trading, we are removing the requirement for Contribution altogether from the progression tree of Gaiscioch. It originally served as a way for players in DAOC, WAR, RIFT, GW2, and ESO to help each other with crafting and equipping themselves, and a way of gauging a player's generosity. However, all modern games are preventing player-to-player trading to combat gold sellers, which has made our system incompatible with most modern games.
Saluting our Patreons, Twitch Subscribers, and Discord Subscribers
As our way of saying thank you to all of those who have contributed towards keeping the Gaiscioch flame burning over the years, we have put up a new Hall of Honor to commemorate those who have financially helped keep Gaiscioch online. We have finally gained visibility into "who" has supported our Discord server by using a custom-built bot that tracks subscription notices. In addition, with ChatGPT's help, we managed to get the Twitch API working again and tracking subscriptions like it used to. So now we're able to track your contributions across Discord, Twitch, and Patreon and award you Contribution Points for them.
