I do not let my activity status display what I am doing.... privacy preference - is that the onlny way to use these rooms?
This month I was introduced to a handy new Discord Bot that dynamically creates channels as people join a specific channel. We have used it quite a lot on other Discord servers and it helps cut down on the clutter quite considerably.
Next time you join our Discord Server you will see a section labeled "The Gaiscioch Community". Inside this channel are a few Text Channels:
- How to Use - Instructions for how to use this section
- Upcoming Events - Events that are happening in the next 30 minutes.
- Gaiscioch Live - Live notices from our Gaiscioch Stream Team
- Polls - Current active polls measuring player interest.
Below the Text Channels there are 4 new Voice Channels:
- Create Event - Creates a Public Event Channel upon joining.
- Create Dungeon Event - Creates a Public Dungeon Channel upon joining
- Create Game Hangout - Creates a Channel with the name of the Game you are currently playing (Requires Activity Status to be enabled in Discord)
- Create Tavern (18+) - Creates a mature channel to hangout and chat in.
Once you have created your custom channel you can modify the settings of that channel to rename it to whatever you like if the Default isn't your style. Please keep it PG and be respectful. The channel will automatically disappear once it's empty.
I want to encourage Everyone to make use of these channels as your primary hangout spots for the games you're playing. This allows people to see how active our community really is and lets them know what you're playing before they have enabled permissions for the games you play.
Misuse of this system will be more frowned upon than Angry Cat taking a bath. It is my hope that this can help cut down on the clutter and allow us to scale up and down as needed. Feel free to join the Game Hangout channels while you're playing a game so that others can join in as well.

Nope, you can simply use one of the Non-Game versions. However Today... the day after I made this announcement... the Discord API died and with it a lot of the bots. Waiting for this one to come back online currently.
