It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our own — Aaron Lee Jacobs, known to many of us in Gaiscioch as Bloodburner or simply Redneck.
Aaron passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2025, at the age of 41. Born on October 21, 1983, in Groton, Connecticut, Aaron grew up with a love for music and the outdoors. During his school years, he attended Our Redeemer Lutheran School and Ritenour High School, where he was active in choir and soccer — passions that reflected his vibrant, spirited nature. He later made his home in Troy, Missouri, raising his beloved daughters.
Aaron’s life was filled with a deep love for family, adventure, and community. He was the kind of person who lit up every gathering with laughter, mischief, and unwavering loyalty. In the virtual worlds we shared, Aaron carved a legacy of warmth, grit, and brotherhood. As Bloodburner, he was a fierce and fearless comrade and he was a loyal friend, a source of humor, and a steady hand in both battle and conversation.
Aaron was a proud member of the Gaiscioch Community, one of the first to ever get a "Gaiscioch" tattoo. He fought alongside us in Warhammer Online, RIFT, and Guild Wars 2. He celebrated with us and shared countless memories that we will forever hold dear. Whether rallying on the battlefield or offering words of encouragement in the quieter moments, Aaron’s presence was unmistakable. His passion for gaming was matched only by his passion for people, forging bonds that crossed the boundaries of games and touched our real lives.
What we will remember most about Aaron is his unbreakable spirit, his hearty laugh, and his generous heart. He had an uncanny ability to lift others up, even when he carried burdens of his own. He was a protector, a friend, a father, and a brother to all of us here. His absence leaves a void that can never truly be filled, but his memory will continue to walk beside us in every raid, every battle cry, and every moment of camaraderie.
To his daughters, his family, and to all who loved him, we extend our deepest sympathies. Know that Aaron touched more lives than he probably ever realized. He leaves behind not only cherished memories but also a living legacy of friendship, resilience, and love.
Rest easy, Bloodburner. We’ll carry your torch from here.
"Until we meet again on the other side of the veil, may your journey be full of the adventures you so dearly loved."
