Gaiscioch Community News May, 2015
- The Gaiscioch Princess Returns
Speaking of youngsters, this year the family princess Allie will be visiting us for nearly 2 months! For all of June and most of July I will be spending most of my time with Allie and plan to have her make a few cameos. For those that don't know, this family was created shortly after Allie's birth as a way for me to have friends to converse with while taking care of Allie throughout the night.
- Gaiscioch Family Portrait Day
Join us May 2nd in both Guild Wars 2 and Elder Scrolls Online for our Spring (Beltane) 2015 family photo! Here's the details:
- Screenshots Needed: Calling All Print Screen Junkies!
I want to put together a collection of our favorite screenshots from our family's past and present. In addition I am looking for pictures that show the game worlds we play in. Search your archives for your best pictures that capture the epic beauty of the games we've played and the friends that you've shared adventures with. Or go out and take some new ones. I want to build a library of epic memories that we can look back on for generations and say "I remember that". If by some act of Danann you have screenshots from Rift, Warhammer, or Dark Age of Camelot with the family be sure to send them over. We are in very short supply of those.
- Gaiscioch StreamTeam: The Streams of Epic Adventure
To those of you that tuned in to our first 5 episodes I hope you have enjoyed what you've seen. So far we've traveled through Episode 1: ESO, Episode 2: Guild Wars 2, Episode 3: Neverwinter, Episode 4: RIFT, and Episode 5: Archeage. Next month we have a very special episode which will air Saturday, May 9th at 11AM highlighting some of our wisest Gaiscioch personalities from both Guild Wars 2 and ESO.
- Gaiscioch Family Summit Schedule
Over the next few months I will be changing the monthly meeting schedule to accommodate the various monthly meetings in a way that is more manageable and not such a marathon. The organizational meetings will be held on mondays from 4-5PM on rotating days leaving the Gaiscioch Family Summit at 4PM on the first saturday of the month the only meeting on that day. My hope is that we can space these out and open up saturdays to more consistent events. I will also be changing the way we do the summits into a live stream format rather than a podcast format. This way I can include some video and examples as needed.
- Keep An Eye On Pax Prime Tickets
Subtle tips have been posted that tickets will go on sale in May. So start watching them like a hawk. Best practice is to subscribe to @Official_PAX on Twitter and make sure to have alerts turned on. Tickets traditionally sell out in the first 15 minutes. This year's plans are coming together for our annual Gaiscioch Birthday Celebration at PAX Prime. This year I will be attempting to also get a press pass and work on getting us some exclusive content for the magazine as well.
- Family Status: Stable & Healthy
Over the past month since the game has gone buy-2-play we have seen a rise and fall and now we appear to be balanced out at about 300 players which is where we want to be. If we can get numbers up to the 350-400 range we will be in our optimal size for the game. I suspect that we will have many of our members dropping in from time to time to check out the updates and over time we will accrue more interest. When 1.7 hits expect another huge rush. Once I get through the summer months I plan to relaunch one of my events in ESO. For now just keep doing what you're doing and we'll keep this ball rolling.
- Provisioning Updated
I am pleased to announce that I have completed the import process on the new provisioning materials that came with 1.6. You can now begin entering new recipes into the system for approval. Each recipe you enter will award you 10 Discovery points. SO get cooking and share the knowledge and allow members to start claiming those food and drinks.
- Family Status: Growing & Strong
Our new formula for the family is working beautifully. We have bumped up against our limit and players are still flowing in without a problem. The two lobby rooms make it easy to snag members that need invites to the main activity room. Population is still on a constant climb for it's 4th straight month.
- Gaiscioch Magazine Issue 5: Live Epic Out This Week!
We hit a bit of a delay on the magazine this time. It is near completion and will be out soon. We had to push several features to next issue and scramble to put together what we did have available. Additionally 2 of our writers myself include have undergone procedures that have hindered our ability to complete our tasks on time. But worry not, the issue is being made and it's near completion. I can however share with you our epic cover design as a sneak preview!
- Real Life Support Forum
I would like to ask that we keep a few members in your thoughts over the next few months. I have created a new forum for people who could use a little well wishes, prayer, and ju ju bees. Be sure to drop in and offer support to your family at: http://www.gaiscioch.com/tavern/
- Enjoy Your Summer Adventures
Summer is rapidly approaching and we want to hear about your adventures. Be sure to post up pictures of your epic adventures! Whether you're staying in this summer or going out, it's always great to see the exciting places our family travels to. Be safe in your travels and I look forward to our continued adventures in the future!
- Gaiscioch Football Gets New Armor
Many of you may not have known this about me, however when I first enrolled at San Jose State University I wanted to declare my focus in Fashion design. However the program was "Full" and there was a waiting list to be a part of it. So Instead I declared Graphic Arts and just tapped that talent in my free time.
- What a way to start the day
I was so very proud of everyone that came out this morning to fight.
First thing we had to do was kick Darkhaven out of our borderland and then keep kicking them out of our fully upgraded garrison...
- Ebonheart Map Clearance: Eastmarch
I have really been looking forward to the Eastmarch run! I missed the last one and my character finally finished the zone, so I knew that I'd be getting a lot done. I enjoy these map clearing events so much - whether or not they start small, we pick up so many people along the way and just have a great time...
- Great event
Who knew that a bunch of Rangers could be so powerful and have so much fun wrecking havoc in WvW. Thank you for putting these events together Terafer, besides the Ele event, this was my favorite class of yours that I have attended...
- Group Therapy
Thanks for another session for those of us that are afraid of heights, afraid of jumping puzzles, afraid of skritt, afraid of portals, afraid of Jay, afraid of that guy with all the muffins, afraid of shinies, afraid of running out of bag space, afraid of waking up under a world boss and wondering how we got there, and afraid of that odd dorito hovering above your head...
- World wide wine tasting adventure
Thank you all for coming out and running around the world - several times I might add, and no matter what part you showed up for... As we ended up doing the whole thing event about 5 times just to make sure everyone got the full achievement...
- Great Dungen
Not crazy about the path but Wind did a great job calling targets and strategy to keep us alive and having fun
- Level 8 Tempest Island: How not to die at low level...
How not to die at low level? It's fairly easy. First, when the group pulls hold block. You can survive the first attack from an archer this way. Make sure you stay back, but still close to the group...
- Star's Raiders
I want to thank everyone who came out and supported me in WvW last night. It is because of all of you that I am becoming a better Commander, I could never do it without you and I appreciate all of you so much...
- Great event
Great event complete with lots of loot, zone completion, and a GSCH tradition of being lead off a cliff to our deaths. Great event Jay, Thanks
- Great fight.
Great fighting tonight. We were all have fun until one commander who was not leading threw a temper tantrum, and left mad

- Special thanks to Rayne
She started the evening run off on the right foot by giving us three pre made omega golems, it was like Christmas morning! We jumped right in the golems and went off to take Bay on the Gates of Madness borderland...
- Ebonheart Map Clearance: Shadowfen
Ever since I've come back to ESO, I've made a more conscious effort to join in with the various events that happen each week. I have learned that level is often less of a limiting factor than one would think; a good group can get lower-level players through a surprising amount of content...
- DC delve/POI/shard run
- Late night coffee achievements
It wasn't easy, but it was lots of fun. We got the achievements and we got amazing fights :3 With patience, love, care and coffee, Lakshmi guided our group through the hardest achievements and we got them >:3
And coffee!!!

Complete run of all skyshards and delves(dungeons) in the EP and AD zones.
- Reset Night Adventures: The Battle of Dreaming Bay
Last night was an impressive series of battles, right from the start. But one battle stands out to me in particular. About two and a half hours into the event, my squad was preparing to defend our Bay when most of our troops were called away to Garrison...

- Wonderful run :3
Despite some internet hiccups from the server, lag, disconnections and rampant warp, we had a wonderful time taking objectives, defending towers, and having lots of fun leaded by Rayne and Wind :D
Such an awesome group! We defended several towers and snatched victories from the jaws of Anvil Rock and Gate of Madness.

- A Promotion, and a Reflection
So I'm apparently a Laoch now, meaning I'm a guide and I've helped in annihilation of many enemies in ESO. In my next step, should I choose to accept it, is to become a leader. I'm really not quite sure how to feel about that...
- Been a bang up time!
Lately, I've been working in Cyrodiil trying to level up my Alliance position there. I'm only level 11, which is pretty pathetic considering this game is a year old. And now there's a reason to hit up those dolmens with the new siege available by hitting them...
- Danny PT2
Hey just wanted to share a boy's imagination and the way he took to the game, it was a lot of fun with him. I am very sorry that his Father couldn't hang with the illness I felt sad for Danny but you couldn't tell with him...
- Thank you Danny RIP
