Its not the fact that we finished it that impressed me.
Its the fact with the ten tries on the second boss.
No one got upset, all remained calm and made it so much fun.
Well done all.

Dat boss be nuts! Yeah, it was a good, solid group, and that boss is basically a mistake is almost guaranteed to be a wipe boss atm. I think everybody realized that, and we simply kept working at it until we got that good run where we didn't have the big error.
Glad you had fun!
What rank are you guys? I heard it was the hardest of the three first vet dungeons.
Grats BTW! :)
We had:
1-VR7
2-VR6
1-VR4
The boss in question is what makes it difficult. You must have good positioning and coordination, moving in and out to deal with mechanics, and you must use cc abilities during the obsidian golem phase. Any mistakes are likely to kill somebody, and unless you can keep three up to the golem phase, a res is very hard to achieve (During golem phase, if 2 people cc another can res fairly successfully.)
Because it is mechanic based, the fight doesn't benefit as much from more gear or VR ranks. It's really a matter of nobody making a big error, including nobody standing close enough for golems to hit them during the golem phase (tanks will die from all 4 golems very easily.) It would be possible to post a guide on it, however it really is a matter of learning what to do and reaction times. *I suppose more gear and such would reduce issues with chains, but the link and golems are pure mechanics based.*
The last boss is annoying too, mostly due to a bug with the animation of her abilities and hitting very hard. That boss basically requires everyone to have a personal health shield ability, or direct heal, slotted. If not the healer will go oom before the fight ends.

Dulfy guide to Fungal Grotto this is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to stupid of a boss to go hands on with minimal knowledge.
Also to set the record straight, I was pissed at that boss. So lame. Good job all.

The second boss is not a DPS race either so have you group take your time. When the 4 mobs spawn you can take three down and have you tank just block away on the 4th while the party needs magika or stamina if you are drained on resources. Otherwise just take this fight slow and steady. I actually beat it the other night in a pug for VR2-3, not sure how the hell we did it without voice coms. On another topic has anyone noticed that you still get the 20 minute completiong achievement even when it takes you over an hour to complete it?
A guide would be sweet. I'll check out Delphy's as well. Would be nice to know if certain gear (not level, but resist, set bonus, etc.)/loadouts will be ideal. Thanks for the info!
Honestly Rain,
You just need to be able to control chaos ( rng really screws this encounter ) and perform without failing. I pulled the boss with me to the shackle to help kill it...wipe because the boss hit box got in the way. I tried to help kill the shades and got heavy attacked 3 times in a row (rnglol) and died. One of the more frustrating was having shackle and shades up at the same time. Its all about knowing what to do and doing it flawlessly. Most of these Vet Dungs have been cleared early on without great gear or high levels.
Having an aoe root and watching your resources will do more over the long run until the instance is on farm than set bonuses. Resists are pointless as the encounter is pure melee. The boss's normal attacks are like wet tissue paper. Its her heavies that hurt, alot. The biggest threat is really the chain between 2 players. It will take life down in a quick way.
We did infact get the 20 minute cheeve, surely we were in some temporal nexus.
