Trains were pretty non existent in most recent games.

In Eso its really easy to do.

So I try follow a few simple rules.

If I run through mobs and run by some one. I turn and fight and then apologize.

I try to shout train coming through if i am about to train mobs.

If being trained. Run repairs cost to much. Just run.

Well thats my 2 cents :)

I just run by them /yell-ing "CHOOOO CHOOOOOOO!!".

Ok, not really. Although if I was on the recieving end of such a train I'd be laughing.

I actually had someone train a group of mobs on me while I was trying to lock pick a chest. I stopped, killed the mobs while they watched and went back to opening the chest much to their dismay. Just a word to the wise, be careful out there.

Ahh, now that explains so much.  I've been trained on many times.  Missed opening a few chests or harvesting materials due to someone training mobs on me.

From what the devs were saying I though the mobs would be too smart to Train ( the whole they pack hunt thing), but I have been trained a few times, most of the time I just take it as free xp, but  one guy trained a army and left me by my night blade lonesome. happy I had a cloak lol

Hmm.. Interesting.  How exactly are they training mobs onto you?  Are they using a nightblade like skill to vanish from targeting and you are then the next target?

There is NO REASON for trains in a modern MMO, the more I play the more I learn, the more I learn the more I feel this game has way to many issues to stay alive in modern pixelville. So far last 2 beta weekends and early access have been a disaster IMHO

No nightblade skills they are just in the same quest area as me, they don't realize the side of the mob they are going after and they turn tail, sadly in my direction lol. I don't mind the weapon xp but if i feel its a lost cause I poof.

I'm curious because I have not had this happen yet. I've seen people run by with a train, but when I sit still and don't attack the mobs they simply return to where they were picked up. Are you attacking them when they run by thus getting agro?

In My experience running out of areas, the mobs are on short leashes. You run maybe 50 or 75 yards and they turn around.

Whenever I see trains go by I do like to stab a few mobs though for fun just to see if I can get the whole train and take it down.

I find I love everything about this game so far trains and all. Feels nostalgic. Should not be able to run thru masses of mobs with out any consequences any way. Certainly not a deal breaker for me. Having way to much fun.

I was trained a few times in the last beta weekend... memories, yes, but not really happy ones. I'm a little disappointed that this is possible, given the history of rampant abuse of it when present/allowed.

If it ain't fixed, break it until it is.

I haven't seen anything remotely like what I would call "training" in ESO yet. I find it hard to attribute motives to people who run past me while being chased by mobs - after all, in ESO it's not that easy to even identify the people around you, and unless you have health bars on and the person targeted, it's not that easy to tell players from NPC's at a glance.

Then again, my standard for comparison is dying repeatedly in WoW when a bunch of players trained the outdoor raid boss Lord Kazzak all the way into Stormwind, where he happily spent the next 2 hours killing everyone in the city. That felt deliberate (and ended in the servers being taken down for a fix).

I've gotten used to trains because it used to happen on Ragnarok Online and FFXI, but I think Ragnarok Online was the only game where trains really effected me.  I plan on not training anyone and if I do run I will do everything within my power to not run into people.  I prefer to die with dignity before I train with anyone.  *Reminder to self quickslot pots*

I've had plenty of trains run up to and past me and I just ignore them and don't jump in.  They ignore me in return.  I hate to take an it's someone else's problem attitude but sometimes you have to.  If someone's struggling, I can't resist hopping in to heal the person through his mess but otherwise I've had no problem being aggro'd by them.  Never have.

As for my own trains running through terrain, I've learned that after a respectable distance, they will keep chasing until I turn and face them.  I just run a good distance turn and light attack them.  They immediately reset and run away.  Otherwise the train WILL run me over.

Don't be discouraged by it and don't be spoiled by the lack of it elsewhere.  Nothing wrong with a little danger in a video game!

Mobs in this game behave strangely. If you try to kite them, they have very short leashes, but if you ride past one and get aggro, they follow you for about 2-3 times that distance. So the good part is that someone can't do it deliberately unless you are really close to the mob to begin with. Accidents; well, they happen. :)

From what I have experienced you really cant train mobs to a person and then leave making them the next target unless they engage the mob. So are you referring to training the mobs to the persons general area and then fighting the mob next to them causing them to be in the mobs AoE?

The training, I believe, is not intentional (I like to believe that everyone is basically good).  From what I've experienced, when the train of  mobs turn around to return from where they came, if you are in their path, they will attack you.  At least they seem favorable to attack my character.  Of course, the path of these trains (coincidentally) always seem to align with a chest, or harvestable resource that i'm in the act of collecting.... hmm.

I did notice that some people train mobs with AoE damage to where chests are to ninja the contents or to try lockpicking themselves. Specially spiders!

Like some of the people above I have not had this happen in ESO. If someone runs by with mobs chasing and I don't engage they just ignore me. Then when they unleash they reset and run right past me. So I'm not sure what is going on here for other people.

My observation is that if something is 'possible' and will be to the detriment of other players, there will always be a few people who will do it.  I am with Darkdonut, I would rather die fairly than resort to dumping my problem on someone else.

My personal opinion is that most of these type of people will leave after the first 30 days to go back to F2P games or games with more open world PvP models.  But ..... time will tell.

Today I saw a master chest nearby, so I looked around made sure no mobs close enough to attack me while lockpicking. As I start to pick the lock almost immediately I hear the sound of mob screeching and fighting all around me. I thought it must have been a mob that had respawned, but no it was a player had dragged a mob over and was fighting it right on top of me. Well as you know it takes a steady hand and concentration to open a master, so I failed and the player got his chance and opened it. I thought this was such a crappy thing to do that I logged out after about 10 mins of sitting there fuming, left a sour taste in my mouth and a desire to play Skyrim where all chest are mine MINE!!!   >.>
