What's next for Gaiscioch? - Fall 2022 Edition

For the longest time, our sights have been on Ashes of Creation as the next logical step. With it's massive world, dynamic events, city building and core systems that help drive community interaction. It has a lot of promise. That said it also has a dark cloud looming overhead in the form of always-on PvP. With that in place, I do not see our community maintaining our numbers for long.

This has been one of the driving reasons I have been on the lookout for the past few years for another option that provides all aspects of our community a place to grow and thrive. We have a few others that were currently watching to see them take shape. The following games have the potential of becoming full chapters if they can succeed in their mission and attract you as the player.

Throne and Liberty

This action MMORPG seeks to put the massively back in Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. With large siege battles, large world boss battles, dungeons, raids, and large guild systems all in their core design. It features questing and random events. A consensual PvP system and is being developed by NCSoft the makers of Lineage, Blade & Soul, Wildstar, Guild Wars, and Aion. We are keeping a close eye on this one and will keep you in tune with all the details.

Starkeepers

This early stage MMORPG is in development by a small team of developers that we will be working with to help provide ideas and feedback. There core design features a wide array of PvE and PvP mechanics and allows guilds to capture and build skycastles. There is a lot to do in this world and features a quest system like Guild Wars 2 where events spawn in the world and you can help complete it or stay out of the way altering the world around you. This one is in its infancy right now and will likely be 5+ years away from being launched. But being I'm involved with the team I'll keep you updated on its progress.

Guild Wars 3

Even though it hasn't officially been announced yet, based on their career recruitment page we know of it's existence. We are watching like a hawk for any new developments on this front and certainly can expect this one to be a chapter when it arrives. Guild Wars 2 has been our largest chapter for more than 10 years running. It would be hard to imagine that this wouldn't continue over to Guild Wars 3.

While Throne and Liberty looks fancy and all, my heart goes for Guild Wars 3. Of course I don't want to Guild Wars 2 end so to speak, but that is going to happen at some point. Of course I will gladly try out Throne and Liberty, if price is right.

I'm beginning to regret my Lifetime sub with Ashes as they are definately heading in a more PvP centric/actiony game than presented in early development and Kickstarter.  Throne & Liberty sounds interesting but I haven't really been following it.  Palia on the other hand sounds very relaxing.  Guild Wars 3 sounds ok, will have to see, as I lost interest in GW2 besides dealing with personal problems.
