Upcoming Adventure Plans Summer 2021

This summer is heating up and we're going to be trying out a few games to see how well our community likes them. We welcome everyone to come along and get in on the action. Let's run through our plans for New World, Elyon, Bless Unleashed, and Swords of Legends Online.

New World - Beta July, Launch August

This one by far is the most promising of the upcoming Adventures and has a large audience already attracted to it.

A shift in their design between Alpha and Beta left a lot of PvP focused gamers with a bad taste in their mouth and a chip on their shoulder. This has created an army of naysayers and doomsayers who want nothing more than to see the game fail.

This change however made it possible for us to even consider this title as it took away the forced PVP which was being used to grief new players in the alpha. Mark my words if this change wasn't implemented the game would have died in the first few months. It was very hard to alpha test due to one clan focusing on ganking new players who couldn't even fight back yet.

Now with a consensual PVP system in play players must opt into PVP and there are special events and game modes build especially for that. In addition, the PvE side of the game has developed nicely making it the best fit for our community for a long-term adventure. The only downfall is the small company size which is 50 people.

We will be forming up several companies (up to 5) out the gate to help bridge that challenge and will use discord to communicate. All of these companies will be on a NA East server on the Marauders faction (Green). All of our companies will work together as one for the betterment of all.

Swords of Legends Online - Summer 2021

This little sneaky MMORPG was announced, then in closed beta within a month of being announced. Its open beta preview event is planned this month with an official launch soon to follow.

What's even more insane is that this little game has many of the things we look for in an MMO including a guild system that can support up to 200 players. There are flying mounts, a hybrid of action and tab style combat, dungeons, raids, and even PVP (consensual).

We took a quick peek during the closed test and found it very intriguing. So much so, that I've pre-ordered it so I can help set up the adventure alliance (guild) once the game goes live. Being an eastern game I'm not sure how much attention it will bring but I'll have the alliance open for all that wish to play together.

Elyon - Fall 2021

This game has a lot of potentials, yet has one serious drawback. Avoiding PvP is quite difficult. The two factions share the same world and the lines in the sand aren't too clear. Finding yourself in hostile territory can lead to certain death.

Looking past this, however, the game is really fun and has a lot of similarities to Tera. It looks and feels like a Tera sequel. However, the guild size shrunk dramatically. Tera had large guilds, Elyon limits to 50. That said I doubt we will have more than 50 playing but regardless I will be setting up a clan in Elyon to enjoy some of this beautiful game.

Bless Unleashed - Summer 2021

We all know the story of Bless. We waited years for Bless Online to make its way here only to be disappointed when it finally got here. It shut down and Bless Unleashed was announced sharing the same lore but an entirely different game altogether. It releases on XBOX originally and did rather well. Then it was ported to PlayStation. Then things got weird.

A PC version was announced without the involvement of the Publisher Bandai Namco which brought the console versions to market. They instead decided to self-publish which made a few of us uneasy after seeing the tragedy of their last game. Can they turn their reputation around with the release of Bless Unleashed?

We're gonna dive in to find out. Upon launch, we will be scheduling a weekly event in one of our 3pm PT slots to farm world bosses and help each other with questlines. If you're curious like us, feel free to join us. I will announce the server and faction a bit closer to launch.

Swords of Legends ... I had a look at that a few days ago and I think I am hooked.  The Eastern feel is quite interesting and I am eager to try it and will probably pre-order as well.  Nice thumbnails on these games ... cheers

I will be rolling on Sword of Legends (planning at least until New World), I like the concept, the old school mmo feel.  What I'm approaching slowly is the eastern style of having 20000 different things to do/collect that has a steep learning curve, and the unorganized chat. But so far the dual specs (either tank/dps or dps/support) I enjoy as it saves your hotbars and specialty specs and you can quickly switch (30sec) between the two depending if you're soloing or grouping. Just have to warn, the character creation lovers out there, it's very robust, but it sticks to eastern body types, so you can't build overly boluptous women nor 300lbs muscle bound men.
