Rift Community Update

Over the past few months you might have noticed a slight downward slide in active players. This was expected post-launch of the 4.0 expansion, as with any game expansion. We are starting to settle into our long-term size and it appears the incoming requests to join are beginning to thin out. At this point, I believe the game is going to need to take some positive action to start driving new players to enter the game. The past few patches haven't helped the population and many have been upset by them.

That said, I'm proud of our raid teams, who have cleared the new content with flying colors, and we've also seen a surge of new crifting events. As we stabilize and find our groove, I suspect we'll be around 10-20 players during primetime, and continue enjoying the small tight-knit community lifestyle.

Now I want to address a rumor that has surfaced. There are no plans to close the chapter, so I'd like to put that rumor to bed. I've heard it mentioned by a couple people and I really don't want people misunderstanding what we're doing. We are still actively bringing new members in, we are still actively hosting public events, and we are still actively livestreaming our activities as a Trion Creator. We will continue to keep this chapter open as long as there are 50+ people playing. Then, we would put it on the Social Adventure table, and keep going with what we had. But I don't foresee that happening anytime in the next year. There is still a lot of fun to be had and Trion does seem to be actively trying to fix things.

It has never been my intention to make RIFT as large as it once was. I wanted to create a place where we could know each other, play with each other, and grow as a community at our own pace. While we might not be able to field a 20 man raid anymore, I feel confident that there is still a lot of community interaction going on.  If we keep including outside members in our events we'll continue to grow and maintain our numbers as people come and go. We won't be kicking AFK members from the Rift Community, so at any time they can return and pick up right where they left off. There is no guild cap, so we don't need to worry about hitting a ceiling.

Rift Adventures September Lineup

The Rift Adventures continue, as we explore additional content streams. However, this month we'll be taking a week off for PAX West. But, we resume the following week with an exciting adventure of Hunting Bounties! You've wondered what these are?  I'm gonna show you!  I'll be giving everyone a tour of a few of my favorite bounty hunting locations. In addition, this month we've got 15x 5th Anniversary Racing Snails to give away on the Livestream and in-game. These codes expire at the end of the month, so we'll be giving them all away this month! Don't miss these fun events.
