I really have been trying to find that one type of event people want to show up for. I tried Friday night events and had some success the first couple of weeks, but then it tapered off quickly to be only a couple of people. So I looked at the best times for people based on their last logins/logoffs in-game and the following month I moved it to the timeframe we had the most activity. Again I found myself either running events alone or with 1 person in attendance.
So I moved it to the most popular day and time slot that Henry was kind enough to lend me. A time slot he was able to get people to join him for events. I did an entire two months, first devoted to exploring the new region and the second to explore the new story. Again I found myself playing alone or with elders (God bless verve for hanging out with me and carrying me through that story).
I've tried zone clears, dungeon running events, story-driven events, world boss hunting events and am really at a loss for what people want to do. I can only come to two possible reasons. 1. ESO is driving its new content (companions) towards solo play or 2. People just don't like to play with me. I'm hoping it's the first but realistically I wouldn't doubt if it's the second choice either. My events aren't for everyone and I'm certain that some might not like my approach.
For now, I'm gonna take a little break and wait for the next DLC to arrive, but in the meantime, I could really use some feedback. What would you guys like to do? I would like to spend time with our ESO community, but nothing I try seems to bring anyone to play. I'm at a bit of a loss. Please leave your comments and ideas below.
