Looking back on our adventures in Guild Wars 2 we have shared a whole decade of fun, friends, and epic memories.
Over the years the landscape has changed but at its core, we are still the same community that rallied behind Roger "Oldroar" Rall's memory to CookieZerg ArenaNet into providing a small token to remember him by. I can still remember the excitement in Roger's voice when he talked about Guild Wars 2 and why he felt it would be the perfect home for our community. Well, he was right. If a decade-long active adventure isn't testimate enough, what is? Since its launch, it has remained our most active chapter.
We currently have over 350 active players in Guild Wars 2 and that number has been growing recently as a flood of new players enter the game. We have been hosting a wealth of new player Events recently hoping to help the newcomers fall in love with the game as we did.
Guild Wars 2 Launches on Steam
With the Steam version finally launching we have seen even more new players entering the scene. At its current peak, the steam launch has brought 8,042 new concurrent players. With the mega server system that is a whole lot of new players cramming into those new player zones.
September Event Lineup
With the wealth of new players entering the game GmaFog, Darcy, and I have been running several new player-friendly events. This month I will be doubling up on new player events to help drive some more membership. I will be putting our regular world boss run on hold until October and rotating our low-level boss run in twice in September.

It is my hope that by putting more effort into the new players we can help make their first experiences good ones and introduce our community to them. It certainly won't hurt recruitment so we can carry this chapter up to the launch of Guild Wars 3.
