Beta, Beta, Beta, Alpha! Alpha!

This month things are poppin off in the MMO scene. We've got a whole slew of Beta and Alphas coming our way to partake in. This might not be a very a good few months for your gamer ADHD because there's a lot to get distracted with. But at least we won't get bored!

Elyon (Beta)

This past month the MMORPG Elyon (formerly known as AIR: Ascent Infinite Realm) took beta signups for its upcoming Beta phase this month. Things are looking real good for a potential 2021 launch and this one has all the things our community looks for in an MMORPG. It is made by the team behind Tera, Devillian, and PUBG.

If I make it into the test and it is not covered by NDA I will host several streams to try to investigate how chapter worthy it might be. Some big questions still loom, but from everything we've seen on paper, it could be a potential chapter candidate. We need to see A: if it can support us and B: if people actually want to play it. Regardless I'll be investigating it and reporting back my findings.

Get involved at the Elyon Official Homepage

Gatewalkers (Open Beta)

Join the Gatewalkers Open Beta May 3-17th if you enjoy crafting and cooperative PvE. This title is very similar to Albion Online however with an entirely PvE focus. There are dungeons to explore, puzzles to figure out, and a whole bunch of things to discover. This game has you using time gates to travel to different worlds and timeframes to gather resources and slay goes. You can give it a try this month for free by visiting their steam page.

Enlisted (Beta)

Open Beta has begun for this WWII FPS MMO and everyone is welcome to join in the action. In this MMO you can pick the side of the Axis, Allied, or Russian forces in a giant battle for Europe. Play out some of the historical battles that took place as foot soldiers or drive armored vehicles and fly aircraft into battle. If you were a fan of the old Medal of Honor, Battlefield, Call of Duty, or even Heroes and Generals, this might be your jam.

Sign up today and start playing here.

Astaria (Beta)

For those of you following the indie Astaria MMORPG you may have noticed your previous beta & alpha keys were revoked. Don't worry head on over to Steam and click that request access button that should appear sometime this week. They are migrating their testing program to Steam's new beta testing platform and anyone who requests access will be granted access.

Bless Unleashed (Final Beta)

This month the final Bless Unleashed test makes its way to PC. After playing the PS4 version quote extensively I am crossing my fingers the PC version smooths out some of the rough spots. Most notably is the sudden grind at around level 15. On the console version, everything slows to a crawl. If they can smooth out the progression for the PC version it should be a pretty sturdy MMORPG.

The guild system was better than most and there were a lot of large-scale activities we could have fun with. As this game arrives at launch we will be featuring it on our Gaiscioch Adventures stream so you can get a look at how it compares to the PS4 version we streamed a few months back.

Regardless the final test runs May 12-16th and you can gain access to it by visiting https://www.blessunleashedpc.com/.

Magic Legends (Beta)

Currently available now, the Magic Legends beta is off to a decent start. Several of our members have been partaking in some of this Diablo-style cooperative RPG gameplay. It has a fair share of Card infused game systems to bring it in line with the Magic the Gathering Card game theme but keeps its action-oriented RPG pacing. If you were a fan of Diablo-like games and Magic the Gathering you need to give this a try. Learn more at https://www.playmagiclegends.com/

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis (Beta)

For those you you who enjoyed PSO2 you can get excited as New Genesis the complete re-envisioning of the original PSO2 is set to hit it's final closed beta on May 14th. If you'd like to register to give it a whirl head over to this link

Now the beta will only be available through the Microsoft store and if you're familiar with some of the problems we experienced with the original PSO2 launch last year you can expect this to have similar problems. Hopefully not, but chances are it will experience the same issues.

New World (Alpha)

This little gem continues to march ever closer to launch this fall. We are expecting one last beta test in July where we can check out all the new changes they've made over the past year.

Since we last played they have brought in expeditions which are like dungeons in most MMOs except instead of just making enemies harder the complexity of the expedition also grows more challenging. Additional things stand in your way like solving puzzles and boss fights change as the difficulty increases as do the rewards.

They have also reworked the quest system and released a new region of Ebonscale. All in all, they are pouring a lot of love into New World. It will be very interesting to see how things develop moving forward.

Ashes of Creation (Alpha One)

May marks the kickoff of the Alpha One test in Ashes of Creation. For those of you who got real stinking lucky or forked out your stimulus check to get in you'll be able to get a headstart look at what could be the biggest MMORPG on the horizon. This is one of two titles currently close to development that could possibly house a chapter-sized Gaiscioch family.

Unfortunately, I am not that lucky to be a part of this one but will be there in spirit. It will most likely keep the NDA but if they do in fact drop it for this I'll be taking notes as best as I can and report back all the goodness. Be sure to head over to https://gsch.info/play/aoc to sign up and learn more about getting involved.

Myth of Empires (Alpha)

Over the past month, Myth of Empires held their first Alpha giving us a looks at this survival style MMORPG. Myth of Empire places you in an area of a large map where you will start from a lone warrior and build an empire. The guild system is massive and has many perks to unlock that will help you in crafting or in battle. The downside however is the guild size is initially limited to 25. While this may not become a chapter it definitely has the potential to be a sizable adventure if players decide they like it.

You can add it to your wishlist on Steam and be sure to join the discord for your chance to win an alpha key.

Tree of Life: Oddria! (Alpha)

For those of you who loved PINE or the original Tree of Life MMO, comes this new cooperative Survival Game. Gather resources and create useful tools. If PINE and Valheim had a baby this would be it. Build your new home against harsh nature and ancient mysteries. Sign up to test on their steam page.
