A rocky start, but still going strong

As new game launches go, Amazon Game Studios got their first taste of the launch day blues as they have patched hundreds of game-breaking bugs, exploits, and crashes. The first month was like trying to paddleboard during a hurricane. Yet even still, Gaiscioch flourished.

Our First Month

We became the first marauder settlement at First Light and experienced a good solid week of ownership before the purples came and took it from us. We fought tooth and nail for several weeks until in one 4.5 minute battle we found ourselves victorious. Since then nobody has contested our land.

We've managed to upgrade our town to have maximum level refining stations. We are the second-lowest taxes across the board and are the only town to have all 5 refinement tools at max level.

Donations Needed

Running a town at first glance looks like a profitable part of the game. It however is not. Every week we are spending between 30-50k gold to keep progress moving on our town and keep buffs up at all times. Both halves of Gaiscioch are throwing everything we have onto funding the growth.

You can help by opening your Guild window, clicking on treasury, and clicking donate. You can also help by crafting, selling, refining, and buying a house in First Light.

As a new player region, we want to keep taxes low for all. If the previous owners showed us anything jacking up the taxes drives players away. We're starting to see life return to First Light but the previous owners drove away a lot of the people who called it home.

You can view our current financials here.

Preparing for Invasions

Invasions at First Light are the biggest threat to our progress. Gaiscioch has been well known for taking on challenging PvE encounters and while everyone is struggling with these raid-level events, I am confident that Gaiscioch will prevail. We are working towards building an invasion team that can Signup and defeat the incoming invasions. We will be working together to try to craft the necessary gear for each other to be ready for the invasions. Let's be the team that consistently defeats these invasions.

Membership Update

On the membership side, we have a constant 190 people in the company with 5 slots in each company open for new members to join. We are rotating people out after 14 days of inactivity but we send them reinvites when we remove them so the second they log back in they can join back up

There is no penalty for being rotated out of the company and then rejoining when you return. This revolving door system lets us stay at the maximum activity at all times while allowing people who are playing right now to be part of the community. Ranks and roles are restored upon rejoining.

Objective tracking

Over the next month, I hope to flush out some objectives for the New World chapter for claiming. I've been logging average times and difficulties for each of the objectives I have found. I hope to have all the calculations done and ready to deploy in early December 2021.

If you (Fog) or anyone in the family, or someone that is six degrees of separation away from an AGS employee, see if we can get some inside information on the mergers, content expansion, bug fixes, and tuning at level 60 to make it more bearable.  Plans for regaining lost ground and players as well, if possible.  Almost anything would be better the continued silence and uncertainty of the game.

When it comes to New World, I have zero developer interaction.  I've tried to make some for years but their devs are pretty shielded. Haven't even been able to find an actual CM to interact with.
