2021 Shaping up to be a Big Year

It is without a doubt that this next year has promise to be one of those years where we see an abundance of new games arriving on our digital shores. Here is a quick look at what we have coming in 2021.

Elder Scrolls Online Gates of Oblivion

Zenimax Online Studios dropped their teaser trailer at the 2020 game awards to the amazement of fans. After successfully launching 3 chapters to their MMORPG they're returning to a fan favorite Oblivion. There isn't much to be known about the 3 DLCs and 1 Chapter that is planned for 2021 but a premiere date for the announcement has been set. Tune in to Bethesda's Twitch channel on January 21st at 2PM Pacific / 5PM Eastern to learn more.

Guild Wars 2 End of Dragons

Since its announcement, we haven't learned much about the upcoming expansion to Guild Wars 2. We should be hearing about the next expansion over the next few months as the Icebrood Saga comes to a close.

Regardless we are very excited to head back to the Guild Wars Factions' vibrant world of Cantha. What new systems will be introduced with this expansion? Will we finally see the Alliance system brought into WvW? There are so many questions, we will just have to wait and see.

New World

Testing continues for New World as it heads towards its next beta date. Since the last beta test, they've enlarged the world, brought in fishing, and made hundreds of fan recommended improvements. It will be interesting to see what changes are in store for its next beta test. You can be certain I'll be streaming it.

Elyon

It's been a long time coming. Originally known as AIR: Ascent Infinite Realms, Elyon has been reworked to be more land-based with a bit of fantasy infused into its rich world. Created by the people who brought us Tera and PUBG, you can expect some fluid gameplay set in a fantasy MMO scene. We should see the launch of this MMORPG in the west sometime mid-year.

Crowfall

This one's been a long time running. It's gone through several revisions but its desire to be Shadowbane's successor is still a major driving factor. As we move into 2021 it will be entering beta, then public beta, and an eventual launch. Things are shaping up no nicely for Crowfall and the long road of development is almost ready to debut.

Path of Exile 2

This popped up on our radar in late 2019 and promises to run side by side with its predecessor. Path of Exile 2 is a new seven-act storyline that is available alongside the original Path of Exile 1 campaign. Both the old and new storyline lead to the same shared Atlas endgame. Path of Exile 2 retains all expansion content that has been created over the last six years and introduces a new skill system, ascendancy classes, engine improvements, and more. It's really uncertain how all of this is going to tie together but we're excited to find out.

Crimson Desert

We're still uncertain if this will have MMO-like guilds or grouping but Pearl Abyss's new ambitious story-driven title Crimson Desert looks like a solid candidate for being on of the top story-driven adventures we've seen in recent years. It is largely built to be a solo game with multiplayer capabilities that they have yet disclosed. We're uncertain what this means but there has been a fair share of hints at it being similar to Red Dead Redemption where there is a separate Multiplayer world to play in. Regardless we will be keeping a close watch on this one as it progresses.

Bless Unleashed

I've managed to spend quite a bit of time with the PS4 version of Bless Unleashed over the past few months. With the PC version releasing early 2021 we can look forward to hunting world bosses, running various dungeons and arenas, and a whole lot of questing. This title mixes solo play with multiplayer through its quest system. It also features PVP and consumable items for those that do not wish to participate. It's going to be interesting how the PC version gets flushed out as they are handling both developing and publishing the pc version without Bandai Namco.
