Gaiscioch Community News January, 2019
- In Loving Memory of Ron
Moments before sending our newsletters I was given some disheartening news. It is with deepest sympathies that I report Ron "Olestra" Bishop has passed on at age 65 due to complications during a surgical procedure. His son reached out to us to share the news.Ron was well known within our Rift and Guild Wars community and led a group of Guild Wars 1 players back to the classic. He joined our community on July 23, 2012 while we were in RIFT and made the jump with us into Guild Wars 2. Over the years he earned the rank of Caomhnoir de na Iomproidh. He will be a huge hole in the heart of Gaiscioch and will be missed greatly.

Out of all the games on the horizon we currently have available to test, Conqueror's Blade continues to have one of the most polished experiences. Our house is growing and drawing interest from other players outside our community. In the next test, we will be getting our hands on the real crafting system, as well as, the open world. This is where things start getting interesting.

- Sail the Atlas a Bit Later
Many of you likely saw the very dramatic and action packed trailer for Atlas during the Video Games Award presentation. Everything in that trailer looked awesome. However, their tight deadline for early access resulted in a 9 day delay, and like most games the first week was a bit of a nightmare. Let this be a lesson for all developers. Never Launch an Early Access game the week before Christmas. All you'll get is a bah humbug.

- Conqueror's Blade Beta Weekend
We got to try out and play the new siege game. Had a great time learning and dying. No falling off a cliff just some walls.
- Our first twitch stream featuring Adventure Roll
Tonight, our campaign was treated to a climatic encounter designed with Allied Games' 3D virtual tabletop. This environment adds a whole new dimension to D&D, with beautifully visualized environments that supplement the "theater of the mind"...
- Tier 1 clash of foes
While the bugle call went out to all the forces of Order to join the fight, help was slow in coming. In the meantime, the armies of Destruction wrought havoc upon the poor folk of Nordland.
Pleas for help came from the Elf lands, as its defenders called for more support to keep out the horde...
- Acquiring Siege Weapons and other gear in CB
Something many may have missed is that you can acquire and build siege weapons (and other gear) in the Siege Beta Test right now, even without being able to PVE for the resources.
