BFA Zone-order: which zone should one do first?

Hello,

First, a brief update:  All alts are now 110, and ready for BFA.

They have all done the starting intro quest and are standing at the table with the decision on which BFA zone to pick (Zuldazar, Vol'Dun, or Nazmir).

Since I feel I picked "poorly" in the Legion expansion, I pose the question to my fellow Gaiscioch peers: which zone order do you recommend?  (Everyone I ask in-game says it doesn't matter).  But surely there can be some preference or discussion on what zone is best to do first or last.  (ie: best order for storyline, best order for easy to hard difficulty, best zone for stand-out quest objectives, etc).  Let me know what you think!

Thanks,

Garyc

On the 1 Horde toon I had, I started with Vol'Dun, then Nazmir and finished with Zuladazar.  Not sure which is more difficult actually. Just know the effects of any equipped Legendaries from Legion stop working at level 116. So there is a bit of an incentive to do more difficult content earlier.  I felt like around 118 or 119 it became a little longer to kill mobs than during the early part of my leveling. Maybe it was my not upgrading my gear as much then..not sure really.

Not having any Legendary gear, I decided to start with Nazmir, which I just finished.  Since Zuladazar seems to be the 'starting' area in BFA, I am doing that next.  Vol'Dun will have to wait until last, and I'm OK with that, considering all quest rewards are an instant upgrade for me.

The only piece of gear that I did not upgrade in Nazmir was my head item - there were no quests that gave head items.  Upgraded everything else a couple times.

I feel like this thread is my journal entry for WoW. :)

Since my last post, I finished Zuladazar, which gave me TWO head items - strange that Nazmir gave me none.    Last month I started Vol'Dun.  I havent done the primary quest line.  Instead, I explored the entire map, and got the map achievement.  I also picked up all side quests, and just have a couple of those left to do.  When all side quests are done, I will go back to the starting location, and turn in the primary quest line.  I don't think it will take long to do the primary quests, having explored the entire map and completed all the side quests :)    This last week, my WoW toons hit level 120.  Questing has not been as much fun since hitting max level.  The journey to level 120 was appealing to me.  Going for quest completion feels like a chore.  Vol'Dun seems much easier than Zuladazar.  I never had legendary gear, just green gear from quests.  For the first time in BFA, gear drops at level 120 are not always an upgrade for me.

My WoW sub expires in June or July.  Probably in the next month (if I can get past the connection issues with ESO), I will cancel my WoW sub and play ESO.  I have several toons that I'd like level to 50.   However, if ESO doesn't work out, I am considering the idea of subbing to FFXIV instead.  Will definitely need a new 'main' game to call home.  The other games in the GSCH horizon don't seem like they will be ready any time soon.

My time in WoW has once again come to an end.

Since my last post, I finished all the quests in Vol'Dun.  I must say the game did get much easier near the end, when I had unlocked all 8 ranks in my Azerite gear (head, shoulders, chest).  Using Icy-veins website, I picked the unlocked abilities that had the highest output DPS.

With the exception of the last main quest, where you had to enter a mini-dungeon (solo), all the quests became very quick and easy to do.  The solo boss fight was tough, but for most of my characters (Paladin, Druid, Priest, Shaman, Rogue, Warrior, Warlock, Hunter, Death Knight, and Demon Hunter) it was very easy.  For some reason, however, I struggled on that solo boss fight with my Mage and Monk.  With my Mage, I had to respec my abilities, and after MANY tries, finally succeeded.  With my Monk, it was just a matter of changing the rotation of my abilities.  Yes, I did a happy dance when all 12 classes had finished this quest.

And now, there are no more Main Quests or Side Quests for me to do in BFA.   I have cancelled my subscription.  Its time for me to move on to something bigger and better.  One option is to return to ESO.  Another option is to start fresh in FFXIV.  It feels good to be free to do play other games.  (I was very determined to complete all BFA quests on all classes).  <happy sigh of relief>
