Definitely. I miss D&D Online and what it could have been (still was fun mind you) and looking forward to Neverwinter and what it might bring.

I'm very excited about this game, can't wait for it!

I will probably be giving this a go Fog but I have my doubts about the 4e D&D rules, (the rogue class has a decoy thingy, sounds too far gone for my traditional outlook of the thief) Elder Scrolls and GW2 are my priority for the next few years but as always I will buy and check out new games.

I've had my Beta key from last years PAX East key entered since ... forever last summer, but STILL haven't heard anything about a Closed Beta, yet.

Too early to know, NWN was one of the most disappointing games I have played. However the MMO could be fun... Will have to see.

I loved NwN 1&2 and the old, old gold box games we used to pay $1 an hour to play on AOL back in the day. I know very little about the NwN MMO at this point, but certainly have an interest. I would say my beta priority would be Elder Scrolls atm with this as a runner up.

I will check it out, but it depends on time commitments to other games.

AFAIK hexx it's almost purely PvE so you might love it. Chrisface might like it too because you can actually make your own dungeons in the foundry system they have.

This game peaked my interest when I read a book by R.A. Salvatore called Gauntlgrym (Neverwinter Book I). The inside of the book jacket says "In this first book of an epic trilogoy, preview the settings, characters, and monsters from the 2011's must have online gaming experience." I have since then became a big fan of Salvatore and have been waiting to see what the game would bring.

I expect I'll give the game a try once it launches. ATM I'm enjoying guildwars 2 so much I haven't even been keeping up with other game news.

Like Sklurb, I used to play the AOL version of NWN and loved it for the community. NWN 1 and NWN2 were okay but what I really enjoyed about them was playing in the many persistent worlds and building my own. I am looking forward to trying out the Foundry in Neverwinter.

Yet another thing that does peak my interest. ::chuckles:: Will have to see what winds up happening with my gaming life. I know I'm now in two Pathfinder campaigns two nights a week, still try to get on GW2 to hang with the guild, and need to figure out my next writing project though my head is still spinning from what I got submitted this week. ::chuckles:: Weeeeeee. 2013 is off to a crazy, roaring start. And to think I'm even managing to do some reading, too. Anyway, will keep an eye on this game. =)

Well considering my gaming life started with DnD back in 1980 I will be playing this. I'm an advid collector of pnp DnD stuff from the 70's and 80's. I went out and got the whole 4e set just to understand what they are basing this game on.

Also wanted to point out that most of the video's you see may look grainy or you may say the graphics don't look great. NW has a built in video capture tool that during Alpha and beta is only capturing in low rez. The Foundry system is the same system they currently use in Star Trek online so you can get a feel for what it can do by trying it out in STO. There are video's out there that people have used external tools and the graphics look awesome.

I have always been a huge drow fan and I am a huge fan of NWN. I rememebr when I first found this game long before bioware did it. It started out as a 2d mud experiment on aol. I used to love that game then but it was a pain to get into it has a 500 person limit and it was always swamped with people where you had to spam the login button to get in. One thing that game had that I wish alot of the MMO today would try is they had gm run events. These events would spawn things like uber dragons or be best of the best contests. The winners would get dragon pearls. These were like a uber currency in the game. You get 100 of them you could use them to have an item created just for you in game. These items would be within reason in the D&D realm but they were awesome because no one else could ever get it unless you decided to sell it or give it to a person. I personally had a magic cloak of invisibilty with +2 to all atributes as one of my items. I also had a deamonsword that was intelligent and could cast 3 spells 1 time per day. I loved those things.

Big fan of D&D and Forgotten Realms setting more so. However most of the NWN games have been wanting. I'm not sure if this is the same developer or not, I haven't really looked into it. So, a little hesitant of the NWN title.

depends how they do it , i tried the open beta for D&D online years ago when it was about to launch and that made me not want to play it . D&D online was all based in 1 town in a new realm they had created and everything was instanced . and you could set the diffculty level of the quest lol . they should have set it in the forgotten realms,or dragonlance etc . I`d love to have it set in Darksun, Shadowrun or Ravenloft setting ., I used the play the old org AD&D and chainmail modules ets . played in the forgotten realms a lot in balders gate, pools of radience, beholder, NVN, etc . but if it is all instanced pay to win like D&D online then it will flop same as that game .

$199 or $59 to play open beta and get a few items seems a bit steep to me. I will be waiting for a free key or playing on release.

Its what's called a "money grab" and becoming all too common of a tactic for Marketing departments of game developers to use for their Open Beta/Preview Weekends. Its easy money for them, so why not capitalize on it, right?

Champions Online was the last time I throw large sums of money at a game developer. I'm with Hexx on this. I'm interested in playing, but I'll be waiting for a free key or release.

Thanks for the update. For those of you who preordered Torchlight 2, you get access to the next Beta. I am not sure if that translates to those who ordered it through Steam though. Anyone know?

I preordered Torchlight2 on Steam and received a copy of the original Torchlight. I'm pretty sure that was the only perk Steam gave out.

Sorry, I meant the Neverwinter Beta on March 8-10. It says above in the notes people have posted that if you preordered Torchlight 2 you get one beta key.

Yeah the Steam pre-order of Torchlight 2 does not get a beta key. Only the Perfect World ordered one does.

Some of you may not be aware, but I am a member of The Older Gamers [TOG] for their Battlefield Regiment and have been a member long before joining Gaiscioch in 2009. As such I still have privileged access to their reviews and inside information regarding upcoming titles. Below is a review on Neverwinter Online OBW1 posted by Ludy. I have not done any online gaming recently and it was a nice change from the single target stuff. Also a special thanks to Critt. He has been actively promoting this game within TOG and I would likely not have picked it up without his efforts. Neverwinter Online beta weekend 1: Technical stuff: Crashes: 2 client side crashes Downtime: 1 short downtime (less than 30min) Lag: Very smooth, it did not effect my ability to play any class from Japan Graphics: I would describe them as an updated version of WoW. Now the animations are better than many MMO's but it is cartoony. Nothing wrong with that but some like the more realistic look. The UI is super clean and you can move almost all the items in it. Now I didn't as it was pretty well done and it felt natural. Audio: I was getting some audio bugs were sound would cut out completely. I am sure that it was neither my computer or headset as TS was working fine when this happens. It was a beta so they likely haven't finished all the work on audio. Gameplay: It is a action MMO. Seems that the industry is moving more and more in this direction. Look at all the titles coming out with this type of gameplay. It is also a "trinity" game. You will be looking for a tank, healer, and DPS for groups. Now I personally don't mind this as it leads to some becoming quite good at these roles. This really is not apparent until after about level 25. Before that the game is not really that hard. After 25 you can do the solo stuff just fine but you can see that as you level you would be better off in groups even in the story quest content and those groups will need DPS, Tank, and Healer. In terms of how twitchy it is some classes play very twitchy others not so much. You can not move and use abilities. I didn't find this all that bad and had a lot of fun in this beta. I don't have a huge problem with twitchy games as long as lag doesn't effect me much. In the PvE portion of this game lag was not an issue for me. PvP is in game but it wasn't active for this beta. The devs had said this a few times in videos so it shouldn't be new. Now I have no desire to PvP in this game. It would likely be fun but it's D&D. D&D to me is lore, teamwork, and PvE. Because of how it plays I understand others wanting to do it but for me I'll pass. My only real complaint was the keybinds. They need to do more work on them. My gripe was I use "=" as my TS key. It's easy to hit on my mouse. Thing is this was tied to the companion screen with no way of changing or disabling. I spent all weekend hitting it on accident after remapping it in TS. They should list every single hotkey and let us remap them as needed. The free to play model: I am mixed on this one. The items listed in game were way to expensive for what we got in the $60 pre-order thingy. Like 90K diamonds for a pet. 1 pet for around what $45 in diamonds? Way to expensive. I am going to get the starter pack for the bag so I don't need to worry about space and be happy with playing this game for free. The good thing is you can play this game for free. I at no time felt I needed to buy a damn thing with diamonds. Level speed was actually a bit fast. Potions and Identify scrolls were the only things I spent gold on. I was able to live completely off of drops. Oh some of the diamond stuff is pay to win. The blue drop rate was pretty low but I could buy a full blue set with diamonds. You don't need blues to be effective at low levels but I do wonder about at max. So all my pre-order diamonds are gong to be saved for max level. Guild tools: Calendars, events, great permission breakdown, guild banks, guild mail, announcements, and a well done roster are all in game. In this beta you could assign 4 ranks and give permission to pretty much all the stuff. Now 4 ranks doesn't seem like a lot but that's enough for Leader, Officer, Member (woot for members), and the time out rank. Seems like enough if the permissions are done right. We didn't find out max limit on guilds but each alt would need to be added. The invites were character specific. Not a big deal if they have a huge limit but something that might cause issue if a bunch play. Guild bank seemed to have all the bells and whistles also. Deposite and withdraw permissions separate. Multiple tabs but I didn't look into unlocking more tabs. The audit logs were also functional. Classes : Classes: Guardian Fighter - Standard tank class. The survival is quite high and damage is kind of low. It has plenty of single target agro snaps once you pick up your "mark" ability. An encounter and later an at will ability to increase AoE threat really help with trash pulls. Still room for a Controller Wizard (announced but not in beta) to help shut down 1 or 2 mobs and you grab agro for rest. First companion should be a cleric. You'll get to pick it and the added heals will mean you use less potions. This class can build action points at the second fastest rate this beta (decent amount of "daily" power usage). I got to 30 with one and did TOG dungeon groups and PUGs. I only died 2 times in 30 levels and those were when I was solo. With a competent cleric and the built in "OH SHIT" abilities it was pretty easy to live. Game play was I think the easiest of all 3 classes. No dodging just raise shield at tell and don't worry. Later it gets harder but for this class it less frantic and twitchy. Trickster Rogue - Melee glass cannon. The highest damage in this beta by quite a bit. Now you have to be skilled and a bit more twitchy that with the other classes. In fact this class is faster game play than some single player games I like. Teamwork works well as flanking enemies give you a damage buff. First companion should be a tank. When they grab agro you get a warm fuzzy as you know the mob will melt to your DPS. Your action point build up is the fastest of the 3 in this beta. You will be using your daily often. I died I think 4 times up and got to level 20. You are always drinking potions and this will be an expense. You kill stuff at least 4x faster so grinding for a bit of loot to get back some cash would be simple. Once again higher skill cap, much higher damage, cant take more than 1 big hit without needing a potion. Devoted Cleric - Decent ranged damage and decent survival. They are a middle ground between the 2 other classes. I think this will make a pretty good solo class and needed for instance. In terms of what I saw in this beta it's not my cup of tea. I like the extremes.. Be it a load of damage or tough as a rock. I did like that how healing is done. You have direct heals (targeted), AoE heals, and wards on enemies as others do damage they get healed. I got to 15 on this and did not die. Now I didn't die by then on the G.Fighter either and content starting at mid 20's gets kind of hard. Still the G.Fighter had less to worry about on alpha spikes but had no way to heal except potions. The cleric also killed a bit faster than the G.Fighter. Value: I have a system I use for all my entertainment budget. If I spend $1 or less per hour of entertainment I feel really happy. Look at going to the movies or how many times you need to watch a blue-ray to get it under the $1/hour mark. This game will last me a few months. People that play games with me know I will have 3 characters at max level in like 3 months and games just don't hold my attention after that. Now in those 3 months I'll put in more hours than most and enjoy my power leveling, instance grinding, gear hunting time. With that in consideration I would put around $100 into this game and that would be my max before release. It has stuff that is fun. I can group up with friends and have fun joking while we smash instances. I just don't know if it's worth $200 for me. It might be but I would rather just wait until I have over 100 hours played to make that choice. Conclusion: Much better game than I had thought it would be. It was a technically solid beta and I will be playing for months after release. I just don't know how it will do against some of the big MMOs coming out this year and next. It is something to look into as even at just $60 it will be a value let alone if you just pick it up after release and play it for a few months.

We played in TOG with Ludy and Critt in Tera, they both know their stuff so I would vouch for this as being a credible well thought out review :)

Well I have pre-purchased and patched up today. I'll post my thoughts after the March OBW. I will only give feedback on PvE for this game though, as far as I know their PvP is tacked on so I won't be looking at it at all.

TOG has an awesome site. I've been a lurking member since 8/09. There have been countless times I've wanted to join up with them in game but never have. I would suggest going there to read their reviews as well. Top notch!

Used to work for Wizards (through 2010), remember when this project spun up. I had interest until I read this line: "VIP Game Access to skip-the-line and get priority log-in access" Free to play with micro-trans, I get. It's a strong model. Paying extra to not sit in a queue? Um, no. You're doing it wrong. (Admittedly, many will pay for that so, strictly speaking, it's not "wrong" for the company. That said, I refuse to play a game that makes it so obvious that they're willing to consider a deliberate "2nd class citizenry" when they're the ones making the call to go Free to Play. Not that I'm surprised, mind you.) Also, I suspect the sacred trio will please the old school at the cost of the new. That's likely not a wise choice, either. I'd say more, but I can't. :(

I see Perfect World Entertainment is hosting Neverwinter, it may be fun to start. Past games hosted by PWE have shown it will start F2P but turn quickly to pay to win. I played Perfect World Int. almost from the start, took 2 years to turn it to pay to win. I also played Forsaken World when they released it and after 6 months it was a pay to win game. I hope PWE doesn't follow the same path with a great game like Neverwinter.

Pay to win is only relevant to competitive gaming. I don't expect Neverwinter to have competitive PvP which is the only place where P2W actually matters. If someone wants to spend a couple of hundred dollars in the item shop so he can raid or do end game dungeons sooner, all power to him, it wont affect me in the slightest. I'm really just giving it a go so I can play with Chris and Maria again. That and for the Dungeon Foundry, I want to see how far I can take it without scripting/coding experience and if it requires some scripting then it might just give me the motivation to learn. After GW2 I'm not sure how long I could play another item shop game for, I'll give it a go, but it's just something to keep me amused until a better subscription MMO launches. I'll be giving it a shot (since there's no up front cost) and I do enjoy Cryptic's other games, especially STO. I'm not sold on the action-oriented combat (since the reason I play D&D is for the turn-based tactical content, after all) and I've never found the Forgotten Realms to be anything other than Yet Another Generic Fantasy World. But since it's a game, all I care about is that it's fun to play, so that's what I'll be judging it on. The screenshots and videos so far look great, so I've got at least enough interest to download it and try it when it launches.

I've been impressed with the footage released so far. I am not a fan of most of the D&D editions but 4th has the best chance of translating to MMO well. The setting has never held much interest to me over the years of playing tabletop. It's well fleshed out but just another fantasy world with a lot of baggage. I prefer MMOs that build their own mythos. All that said it looks like it could be a lot of fun and will be free to try out so I'll definitely be there, at least for a while.

I am very interested in NwN, was my first sorta online game i played. The first NwN was a blast to play, NwN2 single player wasnt bad but very restricted and linear the multiplayer was horrible. But i will be playing this game.

I supposedly won a contest from TenTonHammer last summer, which includes a free copy of Neverwinter, but PW drug their feet on releasing details about their purchase options, so ... a lot of time passed. I just recently contacted TTH, they responded and are looking into what they can do, but I missed out on the first Beta because I didn't want to buy anything until TTH let's me know if, what and how, they're going to get my prize to me.

I think I'll give Neverwinter a try next beta weekend. Does anyone know any good reference sites for it? Stuff like what the stats do, racial bonuses, class abilities. My google-fu is failing me... :(

@Lakshmi I haven't done that much research into the website as yet. Races As for classes, it depends on how Cryptic interpret the 4e rules and how their own system is weaved into the game. As a loose guide I would assume (but not guarantee) that the classes will need one or more of the following attributes: Trickster Rogues will need Dexterity beacause nimble fingers disable devices. Great Weapon Fighters will need Stranth (it is the only upgrade) as a primary attribute because great weapons are heavy and stuff. Guardian Fighters: will probably need Constitution to soak up all that damage. Clerics are Wisdom based with Charisma being used for things like Turning Undead (scaring or destroying them) because Undead are scared of charismatic people with religious affiliation. Wizards are Intelligent and therefore intelligence is an important attribute for reading books and doing nerdy bookworm stuff.

Im very interested in this. I am a little disappointed in the class selection as it is a bit restrictive, but I think its still something I would enjoy.

The latest changes to powers have been a real turn off for me. I'm not sure how much I will be playing the game now. I will probably just be loading this up for the foundry.

Latest changes... what? Did they make some major changes for the last Beta... you know, the one that they excluded a majority of their previous Beta players from, just so they could make one last shot at a "Selling Closed Beta Access" money grab?

They change the way powers were allocated from being granted as you level. The new system is a point allocation system where you don't get all powers and must pick and choose things you might not want in order to reach other level locked abilities. Very similar to Rift or WoW but not as good. It seems like a last minute change that doesn't improve on the original version much but actually means you don't get all abilities. The great weapon fighter for example cannot get punishing charge until level 40 (previously it was the very first encounter power you acquire). I personally think such a major change this close to launch is a terrible idea and has a high probability of not being tested as well as it could be. The testers are in favour of the change by around 60% for and 40% against going from a forum poll. I'm not totally against it, I just think it's a terrible time to be making such a drastic change, especially when the original system was quite refreshing.

I will be giving this a try but most likely well after their soft release in a couple of weeks. I would rather wait a month or so and let the kinks get worked out first, instead of being overly frustrated early on. If there are servers/shards/etc to choose from it would be great to hear where others go for the company down the road.

I understand they need to set up a viable item shop to keep the game going but nerfing the primary healer to do it didn't seem very good model to me. I don't know if they have made changes since I was in beta but a lot of people got turned off by this.

Wildflower: There are no servers or shards in Neverwinter, just one server with overflow instancing. Toros: A lot of core gameplay features will require RMT. Probably my main issue with the game is that retraining powers and feats will cost Zen. Healing potions aren't too much of a hassle, they can be purchased with game currency and drop quite often from monsters. Downsides I have seen for the game are: Soft Trinity - There doesn't seem to be much of a reason for Devoted Clerics or Guardian Fighters, doing a dungeon without them is noticeable but to be honest, the threat/taunts of the guardians are substandard and not fun, the healing of the cleric is much the same. Zen Store - Too much of the core gameplay requires Zen. Retraining skills being the main offender. Foundry limitations - to avoid exploits, the developers have throttled what the foundry is capable of. Foundry Authors are unable to make group dungeons with group bosses and treasure, meaning all they will be able to do is create quests and dungeons for solo/duo players. Traps, Secret doors etc - They feel like a half arsed attempt. I can literally stand in a trap, jump up and down to retrigger it and my health regenerates faster than the damage if I am out of combat. Even in combat, a trap will only take 5% of your health, less than what most mobs will do.

I don't know what's going on with F2P games right now, its almost like a shark feeding frenzy. I get that these developers want to make a fair wage from their work, but their methods are starting to become greedy and exploitative of their player bases, rather than behaving like a normal business and customer relationship, should be. Gaming companies should be more ... hm, can't find the right words... well they should have more of a personal and intimate relationship with their players, more so than other businesses might have. If that makes any sense. This money grabbing frame of mind that developers seem to be engaging in right now, just goes against the very grain of ... well, gaming. You can see it reflected in Kickstarter. KS was started to allow smaller projects the ability to collect some operating capital, without having to sell out to venture capitalists or larger corporations, especially games. It also allowed the developers to build more intimate relationships with those who would be supporting their business... the players. Buy, lately you'll notice an upswing in a "money grabbing" mentality with a lot of the newer projects. Its both frustrating and disappointing to me. But I digress. We'll see what shakes out with Neverwinter. I've always been a huge fan of both Cryptic Studios and Perfect World, in how they design games and conduct their business, so hopefully this is just a fluke and/or a misunderstanding and we'll get an enjoyable game, regardless of player income and spending needs.

I've always been a fan of D&D. and I'm a player of Perfect World games. Primarily Perfect World International. I certainly have interest in playing it.

Info from the FAQ on the NW forums: SECTION VI - SHARDS What is a Shard? A shard is a copy of the game world that has its own unique set of characters and guilds. You may team up and play with other characters on the same shard, but not with characters on other shards. Many MMOs have the concept of a shard, and there are several different terms in use for the same concept including Server, World and Realm. Will Neverwinter have shards? Yes, Neverwinter will have three shards at launch. The shards will be named: • Beholder • Dragon • Mindflayer _________________________ From what I have been reading Mindflayer is likely going to be most populated at start (not sure if that is good or bad) and all shards have same rule-set. It seems Cryptic plans to unite the shards at some point in the future but guilds need to have members start on the same shard.

I've very recently started looking into this, and I find myself extremely interested in trying this out. I am a bit fuzzy on one point, and I hope the current Beta testers can help me out: From what I see, the Menzoberanzen Renegade or whatever they call it is for Founders only...are Drow as a playable race restricted to Founders Pack holders (basically pay 200 bucks to be a drow)? This is both cool and lame, depending upon which side of the fence you end up on. Am I willing to pay 200 bucks to be a Drow? Maybe...either way, giving this a try. The 5-day head start is kinda nice too, but not if there's nobody else buying the founders pack.

Drow will be playable down the road but not at release unless you are a founder as I understand it. The renegade also has a different spell effect for the faerie fire.

That Faerie Fire really interests me as well...I know that Drizzt was able to use his to kinda highlight his enemies, so they were still visable in the dark, or if 'invisible' or what have you. I can see that being pretty useful in the game, if stealthing is common.

I've got a mild in this, played in the betas, and just found some problems with it.

I like Cryptic's games. I love D&D. The Foundry system will be incredibly awesome. I can't wait to see what sort of amazing creations other players will come up with. The game play itself I'm a little "meh" about unfortunately. We'll see what open beta has to offer.

I'll probably play a while, but from my exp in the beta weekend, it won't stay long in my heart.

I'm still in limbo regarding a "free copy" of Neverwinter that I won as a prize in a contest from TenTonHammer.com, last summer. I was hoping to get it resolved in time to start with the other $60 founder's (which is today, the 27th) but TTH's response today was "we're still working on it". TTH is placing the blame on the Cryptic PR rep for dragging their feet on things, so... idk. Worst case is that I'll have to wait until F2P begins on the 30th. >_>

@ Sekkerhund: I haven't had any luck dealing with Perfect World regarding the retrieval of my original account from years back which kinda bugs me, but I hope you have better luck with your situation. I'll probably bite the bullet and buy the Guardian pack so I can play over the weekend...I justify this by telling myself I would eventually put 60 bucks into the game for the 600,000 Diamonds it comes with anyways (for respecs and such).

@Elth - you are the only one so far that I see has picked a server, Mindflayer. Thanks for posting this I will head there as well! I have joined the NWN Saighdear but I have not had luck in finding any information on where everyone is going. If Mindflayer is not correct, please let me know. Thanks.

I am on the Dragon shard @punter. Enjoying the Cleric and Guardian classes. The game is running much smoother for me than beta 3; if you were not impressed by the previous beta's I encourage you to check the game out once again. I am glad I did. If you try Guardian and have played Tera I strongly recommend remapping block to the right mouse button! I was fretting a bit about bag space but you do get another 18 slot inventory bag before level 10 from a quest.

Rolled on Dragon @forumralcore (don't ask, I can't change it...). Having fun, stuck at level 4 because my character is stuck but hopefully it gets worked out, lol.

Oof, got stuck at what I'm guessing is the same place Ralcore, only way I got out was by deleting my character and trying again. Door to the bridge, right? It's buggy. I'm on Dragon @timiryazev, do we have an official Guild up yet? I'd love to join

Its after the bridge, when you go to Protector's Enclave. As soon as I get there, on any character, I go completely out of sync with the server. Can't submit a bug report or anything, so doesn't look good for Neverwinter lol.

Checking into the Neverwinter forums last night uncovered some (hopefully) helpful info: In the Launcher/Patcher options, before you log in and enter the game, select ( ) Disable On-Demand Patching (<- probably not word-for-word, but you'll see the one I mean). This is reported to alleviate at least some of the rubberbanding issues many are experiencing. Unfortunately when I tried to test this myself, I was greeted with a 2.5gb patch that took just long enough for me to fall asleep on the couch, lol. Hoping I'm good to go when I get home, and that this helps some others as well.

I am on Dragon as well, as @kritus, been playing with Salient quite a bit over the past couple days. For all those who made their characters on Mindflayer, don't despair, the three server situation is only temporary, and they are planning on merging all three servers into one large one shortly after populations have stabilized post launch, so it won't be long before you can all rejoin the family. I am having a pretty tough time deciding what class to play, I've been waffling pretty hard between the Control Wizard (Lvl 14 so far) and the Guardian Fighter (Lvl 11 so far). From what I've seen, all of the classes are pretty fun so I am sure that whichever I choose as my main will be fun. Kind of leaning towards the Control Wizard, as the spell effects are suitably flashy without being "Over the Top", and I can see the crowd control aspects being pretty useful in dungeons. Any word on when the guild is going to be formed? I've spent a number of hours in the Neverwinter channel on Raidcall, and its only ever the same 4 of us in there (Salient, Ralcore, Lakerre and I). Looking forward to chatting with some of the other Neverwinter enthusiasts and perhaps running some Skirmish or Dungeons! Anyways, see you in game/on raidcall once I get home from work today. Kritus

My brother finally sorted out his issues, but he formatted his harddrive and reinstalled windows in order to get it working! But its working like a charm for him now, when he couldn't even log in before, so obviously he had some major issues with his windows installation that needed to be cleared out. Thinking about starting work on a Foundry adventure tonight. The first chapter of an ongoing saga. Hope you'll all check it out when its ready!

Yeah, the Foundry is something I'm pretty excited to try out. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with; I hear the Foundry has quite a bit of depth to what you can accomplish in there.

Once you get out of the starting tutorial you will be directed to talk to Seargent Knox in the East Justice Courtyard (which is in Protector's Enclave). Go to his quest icon on the map. Slightly south of him you will see Guild Registrar Anton Omeris standing behind a desk. He has a yellow diamond icon above his head. To form a guild you simply press F to talk to him, but you need to be in a party of 5. I am not sure on the cost, as I am already in a guild so it won't show me...hope that helps :)

Forming a guild only requires a party of 5; no currency cost. At least that is what I am told in zone chat.

Has a Guild been created yet? I am on Dragon as well. Sent me a tell @randeth and I'll help get it started. My wife, son, and a couple other friends will be on as soon as the Open Beta starts in a few hours.

Trying to get my launcher to work. I can log in, and get to the game loading screen, but then it stops working and I have to "end task" on it... I believe my name is @Ivaldira. Will update this as soon as I can be certain what it is. Edit: Launcher kept screwing up and not fully loading. Had to uninstall and am now reinstalling. So far my impression of this game is very negative.

My launcher isn't loading either. Found this on twitter. Please note that if you've tried to bypass the Launcher with gameclient.exe, you'll receive an Account Error timeout. Fix for Launcher soon!

I left Neverwinter patching this morning after a fresh install...hoping this solves my issue of losing sync upon entering Protector's Enclave at level 4. I hear levels 5+ is where the game really takes off (lol).

Yep got in, but I seem to have issues with being stuck viewing my character autowalking from the side. :P Maybe I am just being a newbie, but I can't for the life of me take control of my toon in a useful way. haha

Managed to get in, but seem to be stuck in the tutorial after the first dialog option where the guy tells me I shoudl search the beach for gear. And I think my name is @ivaldira, with a lower-case I. Playing a half-elf guardian fighter named Dahlia. Might change that.

To form the guild we all must be level 15. We will try to form it up on Friday. Until then add each other to your friends list. The lag is too bad and i don't have the free time to level to 15 today. I have to work. Sorry guys.

Well even after they addressed the Launcher issues, the lag is truly unbelievable. Be patient and persistent. It'll be a lot of fun once it stabilizes. :) Remember to leave your Account name in this list. The part after the @ and not just your character name. PWE/Cryptic uses Account names for friends lists, which helps a lot with Alts. Lag is so bad it is unplayable at the moment. Hopefully they have it functional soon.

Dragon is being taken down for maintenance at the moment. I hope this is being done to combat the lag. I don't know if the other 2 are being taken down. And I am guessing Dragon is the one we are going to be located on?

Anyone know how to fix the launcher? It was working fine for the first few days, now it just pops up with a "patcher error" box and a message saying "the patch client got a message when it was in a state with no response function", whatever that means! So basically I cannot get to the log on screen at all. Any help would be appreciated!

Just a heads up, unplug your Microsoft Xbox 360 controller if you have any movement issues. Solved my problem and according to the PW forums it was a conflict for many others. As for the Launcher issue, I just kept trying throughout the day and a few patches later I got in Ok. If you still have issues, Hex, try the official forums. Some sticky threads there and others posting issues.

Hex: When I checked this morning and had the same issue, I found a solution for a replacement .exe that fixed it. I believe my tag is @jaeynapup, will edit if I see otherwise when in again :P EDIT: Fixed name to be jaeynapup and already bought 2 new character slots. I almost fell off my chair when I thought $5 for a character slot was good compared to GW2 and then noticed it gives 2 slots, not 1! I have one of everything at present except a Great Weapon Warrior (need to make mine a drow as Sorantha was my Drow Barbarian in DDO :D)
