Interesting. I predict that our server ranking will improve.
It's interesting to see that Henge of Denravi, a server I've never heard anything about ahead of time, is dominating while Jade Quarry, the one almost everyone thought was going to be #1, is actually 4th.
Interesting. To me it seems as though there are roughly three tiers of performance here. I'm wondering how things will work within the top and bottom tier. Will the ranking system tend to keep them locked in those positions?
Yeah I was reading on GW2 guru, that the Titan Alliance from Henge of Denravi purposely didn't say where they were going, and chose the lowest populated server based on stats from gw2guilds.org. They wanted to do this so they could play together, but their success has caused 4+ hour queues on that server, and there is some talk of them leaving. I also think that Sanctum of Rall is on it's way up. Gaiscioch is a good guild, and Spartan was a good leader in the one WvW run I was able to participate in. The PuG's seem to be coming around as well, and we took Stonemist Castle last night during prime time against Ehmry Bay and Darkhaven. It'll be interesting to see where we go from here.
huh Kaineng is dead last. doesn't really surprise me though, its one of those few servers that actually doesn't do any wvw. also YAY we're not last lol
Kudos to not being last. But it seems every time I look at the WvWvW stats, we are destroying people. Perhaps we aren't destroying when im not in the game. But our server has is way better than my last server in organization. Gaiscioch has to be an added plus to that. So, Im sure we'll climb. I can't believe Stormbluff Isle is that high tho.
I've noticed an increase in our server's WvW performance over the last week or two. I think earlier on, closer to launch people were still figuring things out, didn't have money for siege and weren't quite organized enough. I remember several days where a general apathy towards success in WvW had developed, which I suspect had to do with our server getting stomped by some of the higher ranked folks in the initial matchmaking rounds. Nowadays, though people seem to be fairly positive and working together well which bodes well for future success. It's also worth noting that we've been fighting against Ehmrey Bay and Darkhaven recently, and they are just immediately below us on this list of server rankings. I'm guessing this is evidence of the server matching working correctly. My money is on our ranking going up. Let us support our community in achieving WvW excellence! -Dork Wizard (aka Mick Jagguar aka Danger Sureshot)
I've been reading that the top tier servers all have a really strong Oceanic presence. The Aussies dominate overnight WvWvW and push those servers while we're snug in our beds.
Yeah a server will need a 24 hour presence to top the ranks. If a server dominates for only a few hours and then is absent the rest of the day it just doesn't amount to much. It would be kind of cool if points gained against opposition counted more than points gained with no opposition.
I'd just like to be able to get on the map lol. :D
I agree - it would be helpful is the server populations were increased or if they added map(s) - 90 minute queues are frustrating.
I read two dev posts today. One stating that they're working on a solution to invisible enemies, and the other saying they're completely surprised by how many people want to play W3 and tossing around ideas on how to allow more people and/or shorten queues. At least we don't have the 3-10 hour queues like the top servers do. Or at least I've always gotten in within 10 minutes or so when I've joined our W3 events. I haven't done a ton of W3, but in the 3 guild events that I have joined we've done a great job of taking the objectives we wanted, and defending the ones that we decided to defend. Guess we just need more groups like us out there being successful while we're doing our stuff, and then larger off-peak hours presentation (as a server, not just us of course) so that night caps aren't happening so easily.
