Will be missing for a few days. Friends in town and after the HOL ava event Saturday my video card called it quits. Very unusual, it works fine as long as applications don't make calls to the GPU but as soon as I run any 3d app it black screens and either forces a reboot or eventually recovers with some kernel dll failures. I thought it might have been a cooling issue but I am pretty sure that the GPU has some sort of damage after maxing the GPU fans and having essentially the same thing happen. New card comes tomorrow, if I can make the volendrung farewell I will, otherwise see you all later in the week.

With all those heals going off everyone was feeling the strain. lol I know of several time I would call for ultimates and so many were fired that people were crashing. Sorry about killing your video card though :(

Heh, I actually do think ESO killed it, not just ware over time, but I ordered GTX760, if it is smooth I will SLI it with another. About 3 weeks ago when they resolved most of the blue screens that were happening I had thought this card was going to make it, but it was just like Das Boot, going through all that hell just to die on the docks. 

My vid card has a 2 stage fan, when I am in AvA it kicks into high and stays there most of the time.  Hasn't crashed yet though

Nice system! I know once I plug the new one in I am going to turn the GPU fan up to high then uninstall Precision X.

I just started to have video card issues as well, and they started yesterday. I had looping sound and a pretty sort of rosette pattern on the screen. I tried to do some testing and the crashing so far seems to be localized to just east of Shornhelm in Rivenspire. I tried questing with my settings on Medium and Max. I also tried with SLI on and off, and crashing did occur about 5 mins into game time. I was able to port out to Auridon and I didn't have any crashes there. I will be spending more time tonight testing to see if I can find the culprit. Worst case, I doubt I have damage to both of my GTX280s and I could just run the secondary card in the primary slot without SLI.

Cariance, a few years back I had a similar problem and going to one card usually works though you might have to take one off the PCI slot to figure out what one it is. 

This game can really give your video card a workout, especially when looking at certain stacked mist and glow effects, sometimes I could play my cooling fans like instruments by panning on and off them.

I haven't had any issues since my last post. The two things I did were adding a bit more voltage to my CPU (it had been undervolted, but stable), and I finally figured out how to get SLI to work. It seems the SLI setting wouldn't stick unless I restarted the computer after having it turned on. I should have realized that, when my second card was 20-30C cooler than the primary, it wasn't being used.

I imagine the extra CPU voltage is what fixed the issue, unless there just so happens to be some weird object or code in a small area of Rivenspire that makes my computer just give up. I ran all over Alik'r doing quests for the achievement and I had nary a crash with settings almost maxed.
