Nightblade success with Mennamarco fight?

Just wondering if it is me or my toon just sucks (lvl 44 NB), but I can't get past the adds in the Mennamarco fight.  Not to mention the NPC fighters in the fight tell me to "Focus of Mennamarco while I close the portal".  Well...I can't because none of the NPC's heal me or kill the adds (about 6 of them), so the adds kill me! Ideas? Thought? Thanks...very frustrating.

I only know one NB that has done it (but I know there are more) and she had a heck of a time - finally used a Resto Staff to kite him around from what I heard.  But I think she was almost 50 before she got him done.

Hopefully they will post their secrets.

I've defeated Mannimarco around level 45 in PTS as a NB and I think I was maybe level 41 a few weeks ago with my current NB.  I used the same method each time.

Instead of kiting him I fight him close range with a resto staff.   I watch when he's casting and interrupt him with the right mouse button then left mouse button combination.   As he moves around, I run to him to keep in his face.  I pay attention to the red circles and make sure I move out of the inner circle and don't worry so much if the outer circle gets me a little.   The resto staff keeps me alive if I start to take too much damage.

As a NB, I grabbed the entropy (which I morphed to degeneration) skill from the mage guild line.  That one you get fairly early on so you should have that by level 40.  I like to use DoTs for tough fights and its degeneration morph gives you some health.   I also use a siphoning skill such as strife or whatever it's been morphed into.

Be sure to eat food that helps your health and get some potions that provide more than just health, a good alchemist can help you out with that.

Hmm...well, I guess I'll go do other stuff for a awhile because I've never used a resto staff and I'm spec'd DW with Assassination and some minor Siphoning.  It would be nice if the companion NPC's that are with you actually did something...like heal or kill the adds while you fight Menn. idk

If the only way for NB to win the fight is to respec for resto staff, that's pretty bad design.

I killed manni on my nightblade around 45. I used a bow and 2h combo. Kept him and adds at range with Magnum shot and interrupted caring with venom arrow. Also kept swallow soul up 100 percent and also kept a shadow clone on him. When he hit 30 percent I switched to 2h and executed him till he died. Hope that helps.

As nightblade, I used a bow exclusively to kill him (I used a bow exclusively to kill everything). Switched to adds as they spawned. I don't remember anything specifically difficult about doing it but it was awhile ago when I killed him.

I killed him at level 40-41 with ease, I basically used Cloak+ambush and was able to burst him down rather quickly. Just have interrupt his big nasty attack.

Much to my annoyance my minion did this easily on his NB (while I crashed repeatedly having him almost dead and rage quit on my DK lol)  I'll summon him over here and see if he's got some pointers for ya :)

*Grumbles and flings a pillow at Myst* Not 'minion!'

*Coughs* Anyway, I beat it at level 41 or so on about the third try. I've been speccing a 2-hander and resto staff since the beginning because I found out that DW had very few skills that I'd want to use, which makes balancing your magicka-to-stamina useage tough and I was always running out of magicka way too fast, and I can basically substitute a couple of the NB abilities for ones that I have on my 2-hander, which is handy.

Basically what I'd do is I'd wail on Mannimarco with my 2-hander hard the first round before he summons his ghosty things, knowing he was about to bring them out because of my npc dialogue, swap to my resto staff, drop a Circle of Protection in the middle of the room and hit Expert Hunter (both fighter's guild), swap back to my 2-hander and kite the ghosts around in a circle inside my Circle of Protection until they were dead, using almost exclusively Funnel Health (yay self heals!).

After that phase, I'd go back to SLOWLY beating on Mannimarco using left click and the disrupt right click then left click for his health drain attack. To get around the big red circle of death, I basically just kept circle strafing around Mannimarco. The key to getting out of those, whether you're ranged or melee, is movement. If you're standing still and it's dropped on your face, a dodge roll isn't enough to get you out of range of it, but if you're already moving, you won't have to have that split second reaction time to start moving out of it before you roll. Anyway, so as you're strafing, the left clicking is JUST to get your magicka and stamina back up, since the summon phase of this fight is very intensive. I tossed in a few Funnel Healths between those phases because my health was getting lower, but you NEED your magicka and stamina to kill and dodge the ghosts.

Last notes, 1) I've been saying I keep needing to pick up a full set of heavy armor (I've been running medium), and actually had it on me for that fight, so I put it on beforehand. 2) I've been keeping a ton of extra skill points (looking at my screen right now, I have 13 unused skill points) so that if anything at all comes up, I can just get a new ability that it seems that I may need. 3) I'm stupid and completely forgot about my ultimate ability, so that will probably help you out quite a bit. :P 4) If you're ranged, you can be totally cheesy and line of sight Mannimarco around the outer pillars (unless he's doing his channeled ability that you need to disrupt; that one goes through the pillars), and shoot him a couple times, then when he moves to get you in sight, move to another and repeat; dunno how well this works for his summoned adds though.

Hope this works, good luck and happy hunting!

I finished him at 50 as a Nightblade specced bow and dual wield. Had no difficulty with him or final boss. As someone said used bow mainly and kited.

just a quick note for whatever build you use if you use darkcloak when he starts his health drain attack it basically negates it and he heals very little

Thanks everyone for the great tips - my NB is 43 and specced more like a warlock (even use the fear skill quite a bit) with destro staff and a bow.  I use a lot of dots and I didn't want to switch to a resto staff either.  My sorc is at 42 and also has no resto staff exp.  I actually enjoy doing the same fights with both so I can see which one has an easier time with what fights... I am just coming up on the big finish with both of them and will see how this plays out.

As a NB, I used DW & Resto to take him down.

I had been using Resto pretty much at the start so I had it available for PvP.  It's quite a nice support weapon.  I've been able to solo a couple 4-man dungeon bosses with Resto as the range and damage bubble are pretty useful.  It's also nice having something like leeching strikes (Siphon) up so that you constantly regain health/stamina/magic with light/heavy attacks.

I defeated him a couple days ago on my NB.  I was 46 at the time.  I pretty much used bow until he was almost down to nill and then switch to DW.  i used the silver bullet things from the fighters guild to knock some of the adds down while i kept kiting and using the bow knockback.

I just wish to thank everyone again and I think I might level up a resto staff on my NB - I really like her as a caster and the resto staff might be a nice addition to the arsenal - especially to help with AvA.  I've also noticed that some Bosses are more susceptible to certain attacks with various weapons and to have something else in my weapon rack just can't hurt.  Versatility and adaptability are both game changers with ESO.

I think I might be better prepared for this fight now - even if it takes me a couple of deaths to figure out the  exact strategy, I know I have a foundation to build on now.

Thanks again.

Slightly off topic but resto staff is great for any class.  There are many Nightblades that use it their melee NB and not for healing.  Stamina is broken in this game, in the sense that stamina attacks don't do as much damage as magika attacks and more importantly you have to use stamina for blocking, interupting, and dodging.  It is a stat that gets double dipped.  The major problem with this is that it makes Light armor hands above heavy or medium regardless of your class.  You can see lots of videos of melee NB resto/light armor users doing very well end game pvp and dungeons, even some of the best DK tank builds use light armor.  Hopefully Zennimax works on giving some love to stamina and stamina builds.

To add to Ironbars side note.  I even started fiddling with resto staff on my vet leveled templar.  Got a good test and leveling of skills on it last night when four of us went to do some dungeons we did not have done and I was the only one with a good deal of healing.  So Briseadh is getting more of a healing build on her just to help with dungeons, but I can definitely see how resto staff is a nice thing to have on any toon.

Don't mess with Mama Bear, I might hug you too tight. =D

Click here for my nightblade build that I did mannimarco on level 43, i used dark cloak if my health got low degeneration and swallow soul for siphon dots, siphon strikes restores magicka and stamina, when im not refreshing dots im bashing to block and do damage and interrupt as well as using concealed weapon which i would use when able in conjunction with dark cloak to cause a stun.   I didnt use my bow for this fight, the last round of adds were intense and i needed all my siphoning for this fight, but putting siphon dots on 6 different adds (or at least multiple ones) will definitely guarantee survival as long as you mix with a health regen or max health food buff and have an alchemist make you some level 40 health+magicka+stamina potions, very handy

I just finished him and I do admit that I was lvl 47 - not that I was waiting, but I tend to do everything in a zone before I move on and I just finished The Rift.   But after I realized I was actually in the fight with Manimarco (yeah - was a little slow on the uptake as I was wondering through the quest)  I only died 2x to him - and then switched strategies to putting my Shades on him and hitting him from a distance - and then when he called forth his minions I just fought them along the outer ring.

It seemed that my Shades (I have them morphed to get two) kept him busy so he ignored me most of the time.  So using Silver bolts on his minions along with Funnel Health-  to keep my health up - I had no issues using this set-up.  When there were no minions I just used heavy attack on him from range and kept the Shades active constantly along with the occasional DOT from Funnel Health.

Now, I have also respecced my attribute points and put them all into health - then use +magic on all my gear.  And while I admit that I hate that this is the only viable way to spec the points - it does seem to work so I'm not going to buck the system.
