I am posting this to get a list/idea of how many current V10 or soon to be V10 people are interested in Graglorn. Nobody knows how long it will be until it is released but probably a few weeks away.  Reply to this thread so we can get an idea. If you can list your class/role, time zone/play time, and if you are interested in only leveling to V12 and gearing out your toon for AvA and or if you plan on spending most of your time there. I personally plan on spending just enough time to level and gear out.

I will start first.DK tank/ok dps, east coast weekdays 7:30-10:30pm est weekends 7:30 until I fall asleep. There to level and gear out then headed AvA full time until the next cap increase.

Sorc dps/heals.  Can play most times atm, although that is always subject to change.
I'll probably continue to do a little AvA and whatever PvE comes around as a mix.

Also, currently VR10.

Well my main is a Templar, Heals mostly, but picking up a little survivablity via sword and board for some dpsing, as I heard one fight I can't heal during.

Currently V1, but will be working my way towards V10+ as I can find time to play.

As for time zone, I am EST, so saturday- wednesday I could do most any time from 5pm-9pm easy enough, especially if it is preplanned for the raid night.  I might can even do friday night as well from 6pm-9pm+ depending on how tired I am.    My schedule is really sporadic as it really depends on school work, but if I know an event is planned, I can try to adjust accordingly.

As for gearing up, well I tend to enjoy the PVE side of things more anyways, but I will gladly do some AvA from time to time when the interest strikes or if an event is ran that I can actually participate with.

Well yeah, I'm only V1 but I am interested. Currently playing Sorcerer 2H Melee/Ranged DPS. When I get to V10 I would be in for sure.

Not sure when I'll get that far.  Got slowed down by some fun with my hard drive and not my internet service being wonky.  I can at least PVE even when the internet is barely capable of a download in dialup range.  Did that Saturday night.  ::chuckles::  I've at least made it to L48 finally and running around cold harbor.  Watch I'll get there about the time you all get bored of Craglorn and something new comes out.  Hehe!

Don't mess with Mama Bear, I might hug you too tight. =D

Syphon,

You can definitely heal any/all fights in trials as a Templar, I'm not sure what you heard that made you think you couldn't?

Now that's not to say that some fights might need more or less healers than others so sometimes a healer might be asked to swap to a DPS role for a specific fight.  For those situations I would honestly suggest keeping your resto staff equipped and using a bar with Power of the Light, Dark Flare, and Vampire's Bane on it.  It lets you stay at range which helps for avoiding AoE's and such, also the Resto Staff has a fantastic DPS passive "Circle of Life" that increases all your damage by 10% while at full health.  It also grants mana return on a completed heavy attack so you can recharge easily if you end up OOM!

Myst, it was one of the Dev Q&A's about Craglorn and boss fights. They had mentioned that one of the fights you couldn't heal. Not that Templar's couldn't heal. That no one could. So it's a DPS race. As far as I know all healers are viable options depending on playstyle to adventure through Craglorn.

I'm very interested but also trying to stay away from getting involved in this game hardcore as I have with games past.  I doubt I will be v10 when crag comes out, currently level 32, but i play a nightblade archer/dual wield but will likely switch to bow and 1h/shield soon.  planning on going dots/siphon, those weekday times are great for me and weekends as well, though I likely would only go once or twice a week tops

Aunvyrae,

I am not sure what Dev Q&A that was but I can confirm that there are no fights where you cannot heal in either of the existing trials (Aetherian Archive and Hel Ra Citadel).  There are some fights with "DPS Race" elements but they all allow, and require healing.

No healing allowed is a mechanic seen before, but with so many absorb options that seems less like a huge deal with ESO.  I'm not sure how they would deal with that setup, maybe a boss that 'eats' health bubbles?

The fact that there are so many would make a simple lack of healing option seem silly.

well thanks myst for that clarification.   I will have to look into that, still soloing with heavy armor and sword and board does feel a little faster at times, but I am not forgoeing healing completely.  I will have to look into those 3 abilities you mentioned, not familiar with any of those 3, but the last one sounds like its from the fighters guild.   I am definitely having to tweak my dps healer bar.  the one I had for soloing had binding javelin for knockbacks, the first ability from the solar tree with a snare effect, and then the javelin that had the aoe stun effect, for some crowd control.   It works fine for soloing but not as effective in groups when I am the healer but not having to heal as often.   SO I will definitely look into those.

Piercing Javelin is great for soloing because it does some damage but also keeps the mobs knocked back/down to give you some space.  The bosses in Trials cannot be knocked down by a simple javelin so it loses a lot of its purpose.  Dark Flare is the morph of Solar Flare and while it's often too slow of a cast (1.5s) to be used as anything other than an opener while soloing, in raid content you hopefully don't have much aggro on you and it's your best "spammable" range spell.  Vampire's Bane isn't a Fighter's Guild spell (although you're right, it does sound like one!), it is a morph of that first ability from the Solar tree (the one you mentioned with snare effect).  Power of the Light is a morph of Backlash which is a debuff you put on the boss that lasts 6 seconds base (up to 7.2 with Enduring Rays passive but generally that passive isn't worth taking) the debuff dooes a couple of things:

  • At the end of the 6 seconds it deals damage to the target equal to 39% of all the damage done to that target during the 6 seconds it was on them - with a maximum cap based on your stats (generally 1600ish).
  • Each of the next 5 attacks on the target increase the damage of all Weapon attacks on that target by 2% (to a maximum of 10%) for the next 7 seconds.

This spell can put out a lot of damage for not much Magicka and time invested so it's very good to weave into your damage (or healing) rotation.  The downside is it stacks really awkwardly so you really only want one Templar at a time using it.

The javelin AoE stun you were using (Spear Shards or one of its morphs) is ok but if you have the requisite rank in the Mage's Guild I'd suggest checking out Volcanic Rune (it's a morph of Fire Rune).  It's a great ground targeted damage ability with a pretty lengthy knockdown/stun that is really useful for soloing, Trials and AvA.  The downside of Volcanic Rune vs. Spear Shards is it has a smaller AoE but I think overall it is much more flexible and effective.

I hope that helps, let me know if you have any questions.
