Lack of response for Dungeons?

I am not sure if it is my timing or the recent subscription being charged...

But lately I have been getting no response for dungeons. I asked around and no one seems to be interested or respond. Either that or some higher level ones mention interests but they are usually 20 levels higher. I was in L30s and Shadowfen when I asked in guild chat. Been asking for close to 1 week now. I was asking around for Arx dungeon, no interest. I guess another alternative is to create an event. But my schedule doesn't quite allow me to commit to a specific time as it all depends on my time my baby goes to sleep. So I tend to ask around only after things at home have settled down.

Look me up if you are interested in dungeons runs. I am usually in SEA/Oceanic time zone. GMT+7. Currently L32 Sorc. I am specced generally in DPS, but also some tanking and also healing.

I think the overall population is dropping especially after the free sub period. I've noticed in some of the big trading guilds I am in that used to have 100's of people on at all times now has dwindled to 30s.

I have been wanting to buy the game for a few friends of mine, hopefully it will go on sale soon and I will buy a few copies for them.

I'm playing in Oceanic prime, but my ADD approach to the game has left me with 5 hungry low level alt mouths to feed - mostly by crafting or questing. Then there's the other problem - I hate dungeons. I have a WoW sub, but I've essentially spent the last 8 years there avoiding dungeons because I can achieve the same level of joy in a critical incident review meeting at work (yes, that would be none). All the best with the group search though - I know it's been tricky to match level and playstyle in that time bracket.

You are probably going to need to use the lfg tool to get dungeon groups. Pugging is not so bad in regular dungeons because the bosses tend to relatively easy or easy to learn. I've pugged dungeons without a tank and finished with only a couple deaths. I've heard of groups of 4 dps finishing dungeons even.

You are just a little too late for me - I've seen you asking for dungeons but usually just as I am winding down.  I'm PST but do play late into the early hours of the morning but the last hour or so of my play time is usually doing what I call "admin work" scuffling around inventory items on my alts, deconstructing items on my crafter, stacking things in the guild vaults, tossing out the "bait" some players deposit.  The things that let me unwind from actually playing.

If I see you do "searching for dungeon runners thing and I'm still actually "awake" I will come and help out if you need dps but I have little exp. doing dungeons so I will need guidance but maybe it's time I learned them - oh and if there is a family AvA event I will usually be there as number one priority for me.

Different people play at different rates. We are 1080 active players now, but not everyone plays on the same time, toons, pace and in groups.

I like dungeons but tend not LFG.  My friend will often LFG for us and we have really good luck with PUGs (usually).  The people that LFG for dungeons are often good gamers that like dungeons; so you are oftener luckier with PUGs than with some friends LOL.

Feel free to tap me on my shoulder if you'd like a guildmate and if I have a level appropriate I'm usually good to go.  My friend has gone into RaidCall and asked too and has often found guildies to dungeon with.

I'm interested in dungeons. The times that they are posted in the forums rarely work well for me, but if I'm online I'm happy to run dungeons.

I like running dungeons, and will gladly do one unless I'm in the middle of an involved quest chain or in AvA. However I play East Coast US time so our times probably don't intersect much except for weekends.

FYI, you're not alone in lack of dungeons: I haven't done any of the more recent one (the level 40+ ones) through a combination of bad luck and the inability to get groups. One of the issues with asking in guild chat is that if there is a lot going on, it's easy to miss chat (though once in a while I do stop and scroll back thru chat to see if I missed anything). I don't typically run the LFG tool, maybe I should!

I guess it is mostly timing issues. The times I usually logged in is somewhat the "dead" zone where there are probably the fewest people online. Maybe I should try out the LFG provided that I don't outlevel the LFG tool for that zone.

I know I usually offer if I see people looking for a long time to power run them.  Sadly, I can't magically be the level of the dungeon for those wanting runs with everyone in that level range, but the XP off the dungeons is pathetic.  The quest and achievements make up the vast majority of the XP, something which makes power runs less painful (although those mobs not being worth xp is lame.)  Still doesn't help the 'authentic run' people much... and I wish the best of luck to those who want runs like that.

I tried the LFG tool. Seems to work OK. Though the first group I find we probably died more than 10x due to stupid random deaths. The healer finally d/c or dropped and when another replacement came it was smooth sailing.

Somehow I tend to have more luck with guild groups. So far the guild groups I went with have been very good runs.

I love using LFG, it can be hard to find guildies to group with right now given that so many people are scattered between different time zones and level ranges etc.  Dont be afraid to let a higher level join you if they are willing though, unless you are looking for a challenge in the dungeon.  personally im just looking for completion.  I have a strong feeling once you hit VR youll have an easier time, especially once you hit VR10 and most everyone else reaches that as well... if theres 100 people online and a range of 30-40 levels it can be difficult to find 3 other people your level who also are ready and willing to do a dungeon

I only level 12 on my highest character and strongly suspect I will be among the last of the family to "level cap"... I am unlikely to be rolling dungeons anytime soon other than Fungal Grotto.

It is better with guild members just because there is a level of civility expected of guildies that you don't always get from random people.  The LFG tool is great if you are just looking for 3 random bodies, but it can be quite the ordeal if you are grouped with others who either clash personality wise or just aren't ready to run a dungeon.

I personally just wait for when people are looking for groups in zone chat, while it's still kinda iffy on who you get, I seem to have a slightly better prepared players than the LFG groups lol.

The biggest problem I have is not finding groups, it's that the majority of the people I've grouped with don't understand proper dungeon mechanics.  "Tanks" who use a 2hander and no taunts, DPS who start the pulls themselves and use an AOE to boot, people who just stand right in the middle of boss AOE and don't move.  It's surprising to me how many groups I've run into that simply don't know how to act in a dungeon.  I realize that the majority of players are here for the PvP parts of the game so PvE dungeon crawling isn't their expertise, but it is baffling to me sometimes that people can't understand that a 4 man dungeon isn't the same as a zerg public dungeon lol.

@Bentmer  I totally agree with you.  Folks that haven't been mentored don't realize that there is a very different set of tactics for doing dungeons.  Each role is very important and if you don't use the right tactics you can make it way more difficult than it needs to be. (I actually did some dungeons with 2 higher level guildies -myself and another were at level - and we died multiple times trying to take down every boss. My armor about disintegrated. LOL  A few days later, my friend and I joined up with 2 PUGS and we sailed through all 3 dungeons at level and only had 2 deaths.  LOL)  Folks tend to put the "blame" on the tanks and healers; but DPS can totally mess things up as well.  As you mentioned, all need to allow the tank to pull the mobs and give him/her time to establish aggro.  And if the DPS is using AoE's at certain points, I hope they are prepared to deal with 6-15 mobs by themselves.  It is my understanding that ESO tanks have less taunts than normal so they often can't correct the over-zealous DPS's mistakes.

I think it might be helpful if there was some sessions set up for discussing dungeon tactics and to discuss the various scenarios you face and how you overcome them..  And maybe a written Dungeons 101  (LOL)  Each game I've played, the dungeons have presented a different set of challenges.  I think a round table would even be helpful for experienced dungeoneers.  :)

I think constructive advice for running dungeons would be a good thing. I always like to get ideas from how other people are running things.

I should note, however, that as Bentmer said, running with guild mates is more fun because people are more civil and are simply out to have fun. I'm happy to run dungeons with experienced players, and also happy to run them with new players. If running with new players means you're going to wipe multiple times while people figure their roles, strategies, or tactics, that's fine with me. That's how people learn. PUGs, on the other hand, are terrible for that sort of thing.

Agreed.  With PUGS you run the risk of getting jerks in your group.  So far, I've been lucky with the strangers; but I have to agree that it is way more fun to run the dungeons with guildmates.

If there is anyone that has a pretty good handle on the ESO dungeons, I'd be willing to colloborate with them write up a "dungeon manual tips book".  I consider myself still in "learner" mode so do not feel qualified to pen it.  Maybe it makes sense to start a thread where all could contribute their bits of wisdom.
