When we are taking keeps,  bridges and resources I love to run in a big pack, to me that is what it is all about, however when we are running for quests and non keep targets I find the big pack a frustrating opposition.  Trying to get a stone, shard or quest item with 140 people all at the same time is not a fun proposition.  It can also cause server overload and crashes.  If we have group leaders can we split up the target locations for the groups separating the numbers that go to each chosen location, then we might be able to find a mob to target before its dead. Do not get me wrong I love big huge massive group power, but it has its time and place.  Honestly I feel useless, and highly pressured doing quests in a huge group, I feel we do not need more than one group (squad) to do the quest objectives and I feel by splitting the groups on quest nights we would have a much more pleasurable experience.

This is an opinion, and only an opinion.  Had this been a actual Rant you would have been instructed to remove your headset and take cover under the desk.

The key here Mynrbird is not that we're questing, it's that 140 people are following orders. Getting commanders used to controlling a group that size is what we're after. getting the new people used to working as a member of a group that size is the goal. We have to practice working together, before we can engage the enemy together. In good time we will begin branching but first people need to learn to listen, and follow. Once we have that part down, then we can bring to life the "trinity". Those that know what I'm talking about will grin right now. Those that don't wonder in anticipation and know good things are in store.

Yes Mynrbird - the idea is to organize the chaos - then split the organized squads off to different objectives.  The best thing that we can do to speed along the process is to follow the orders given by our group leader - learn to recognize the voices and pay attention to <party> chat for orders.

You might be amazed at how many people follow the wrong leader or run off on their own.   Believe me when I say that you aren't useless, although I can understand the feeling, but just by following the orders you are a great help by being part of the organization the we need to succeed.     It is just as hard to be a great follower as a great leader and by being a great follower you make the leader's job easier.

I can't tell you how many times I've heard our leaders say "How can you be following me, when you are so far ahead of me?"  We need to become that "well oiled fighting machine" that so many people speak of and this is just part of the process.
