Am I the only one not able to log in?

I bought ESO from gamefly and was given a game code to get into early access. Today when I tried to log in, I was told I needed to update my subscription type in order to play. There is no option to update your subscription type on my account page. Apparently, you have to input a game code first. Only problem is I only have the one code, and it says it is invalid when I try to use it again. Anyone else have this same issue? I am absolutely dumbfounded that zenimax would make it so difficult to collect revenue. Don't you want my money????

Early access has ended, that's why the subscription thing is triggering - the game is now live.  Even though you got 30 days play free with the purchase, you have to set up a subscription plan before you can use your "free" 30 days (I know, it's so weird). If you use a credit card, it'll do a credit check for the sub amount before it will let you play.

I'm probably not much help as my sub is already set up, so I don't know what your account page looks like compared to mine. Do you have anything that says "Manage Subscription" or "Billing History" on your account page at  https://account.elderscrollsonline.com/users/account  ? Alternatively, did you play in the early access before now (ie. did you already use the "Redeem Code" function before today?)

No, and oddly zenimax does not know what to do either. Tech support just emailed me back and said, " change your billing and subscription method." OMG! I just told you guys I know I need to do that but that I cannot do it because of this code redemption roadblock. Those menu options are unavailable on my account page until I redeem a code. The ONLY code I have is invalid, so I am SoL.

Urgh that's awful. :( 

The only thing I noticed with the code was  that when I redeemed mine, I used copy-paste to do it and it kept coming back "invalid". Then I tried deleting what I'd written in the code box (with a few extra hits to the delete key for luck) and typing the whole thing in by hand, then hitting the delete key a bunch of times after the last part. It worked. In my case, there seemed to be "invisible" spaces when I used the copy/paste function, and the only way to get around it was to make sure the field was blank and do the manual code entry thing.

Did you redeem your game key? I had purchased my copy of the game through GMG (third-party) and had to take the game key code they had recently emailed me and redeem it through my ESO account via their website. Once I did that I was able to setup a subscription. Hope that helps!

I received 3 codes keys from GMG, the first was the early access key, the second was the imperial edition key, the third simply didn't seem to work. But I redeemed the second code and that's what took me to the subscription page. Hopefully that helps you out. Sorry I don't have more info.

Your third code is the explorers pack which works after you claim the code for the imperial edition

This helped me a lot actually. I didn't know there were other codes to enter until i looked at my gamefly receipt. Thanks a lot.

 


 

I didn't use a 3rd party supplier myself so I didn't realize they were separating the codes like that. Sounds like you'll have to contact Gamefly for the other codes. What a pain.

Wow, their customer service is really unresponsive.  I've yet to receive any contact they are looking into my subscription issues (going on 72 hours).  I didn't think it could be worse than Turbine (DDO) but they are now competing.  Even a standard issue we're-really-busy-and-will-get-to-you-soonest automated response email would work for me. But nada.

Don't worry, I'm not upset or angry (hey, its just a game).  Speaking as a customer, I'm disappointed.

And as a professional with 17+ years in the quality assurance and customer service fields, I'm merely observant.  And the observation is disappointing.

That did it. Apparently, gamefly was supposed to give me 3 codes, not 1. I used the 1 code I received and thought that was it. However, when I logged back into gamefly, there were 2 new codes that they never bothered to send me. Thanks gamefly! So long story short - gamefly is a bunch of idiots, not zenimax.
