The game might have a mature rating, deal with itchy subjects, but all guild communication channels are stil under Gaiscioch family policies and values.

The elders will appreciate your help in keeping the public channels clean from foul language, itchy topics like religion, politics, etc, and pg+18 stuff.

I will admit, I stopped paying attention to chat for a good long while yesterday. I also left the the main ESO room a few times because, without trying to alienate myself, things became quite annoying at times.

Thanks for helping bring light to this. I've made a few quips and goofs myself, but with the sheer number we have in ESO already, things can get grating or possibly even taken the wrong way without attention. Until we have a little bit better communication system going with this number of people, can we cut it back a few notches?

I truly do appreciate family friendly chat, so thank you for the reminder and the stipulations to keep it friendly. Now if only I could find headphones that I could wear longer than a couple hours due to how uncomfortable they are. Any suggestions?

This Logitch G430 has been the best headset i have ever had. And one of the cheapest. I have spent as much as 250 on a PC headset before. These have been getting mixed reviews. but, i love mine. Super comfortable, sturdy (I am rough on my stuff) and come in various colors as well.

If you have oddly shaped ears like I do over-ear headset don't fit fully around your ear, and on ear headsets put too much pressure on the upper cartilage.  I've been struggling with headset solutions for at least a decade personally, in addition to my "personal" ear shape issues, I'm also an audiophile and I sing so I need a one ear solution.  For the past say eight years I've been forced to use a mono earphone/mic combination that, while it functions and is the best quality I could find in hundreds of manufacturers, isn't good enough quality and I still suffer from ear pain.  It has a single speaker pad with an ear-hook, and the mic sticking off like most gaming headsets.  It was the best solution I could find, but even with that, I have not been able to wear a headset for more than a few hours at a time until yesterday...

I recently picked up Sleek Audio's SA1 earbuds and I was able to wear them for almost 13 hours!  I got an external Mic from Zalman that clips onto the earbud wire.  The Sleek Audio earbuds are awesome, they feel great and they sound amazing; replaceable treble tips allowed me to customize the sound until it matched exactly what I wanted - deep, rich, pure sound that is easily comparable to my "main" system sound (HT Omega Claro Halo XT to an Onkyo receiver and Boston Acoustic speakers.)  Anyway, the down side to this particular earbud model is that they are an out of manufacture product though Sleek Audio is still 'supporting' them with replacement parts.

You might look into the Razer Tiamat 7.1 http://www.razerzone.com/store/razer-tiamat-71 or Kraken 7.1 http://www.razerzone.com/store/razer-kraken-71 depending on your rigs audio setup. I personally dislike 'gaming' headsets because they tend to be muddy with bass, same with Bose.  I just prefer a pure, crisp sound.  Oddly enough one of my favorite headsets for sound quality was the Creative HS-1200 wireless http://us.store.creative.com/Creative-HS1200-Wireless-Gaming-Headset-Black/M/B001BAWX80.htm; unfortunately my ears did not like the fit of them.  Sennheiser's RS180's http://en-us.sennheiser.com/digital-headphones-wireless-home-audio-rs-180 were the most comfortable for me, but again they did not fully fit around my ear so I ended up returning those. >.<

Just going to follow up on what Kitty's post is about - being family friendly - PG content applies.

Certain discussions are best left for "big" ears and therefore should be taken to the other channels that are provided.  Talking about sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll (ok - music is just fine but it kind of felt the right way to say it) are better left to the adult themed channel 18+ or to private channels other than the general chat.

It is also one thing to slip up and use an expletive when in the game you die, fall off a cliff, your favorite piece of gear goes "poof", or a crafting experiment failed... it is totally different to used said expletive directly at another guild mate or the entire guild.  One gets you a "Watch your language" the other gets you kicked from the guild.

The launch of any game and especially an MMO is terribly hectic, confusing, and therefore stressful.  Take a step back when you feel the stress mounting up, get a drink of water, take some deep breaths, and then come back and ask questions when your mind is clear.

For everyone who doesn't get stressed out over this stuff - please remember that others do - don't question the "why" they are getting stressed just be helpful and in this way you will relieve their pain and make a friend at the same time.  Pushing the buttons of a stressed out person is like lighting a  very short fuse on a piece of dynamite - you will never run fast enough to get away before the explosion.

Be kind, be patient, and have a safe journ.

Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset is what I own and use for the last 3.5 years. It has plush ear cup which wont make you sweat.

Now you if you have large ears, it might be an issue.

As for the G430 I would skip it. The cost is not worth it, as you pay for the USB soundcard. The G230 is the exact same as the G430, different color and no USB soundcard. The cost difference is $30. That is too much.

The big issue is the cloth material. It tends to at times feel uncomfortable. Stay away from those 5.1/7.1, stereo is enough for good spacial sound. You are chatting in raidcall most times.

If you want to listen to game and no chatting, a good pair of headphones would be a better choice. I use the Bose AE2 when i want just to game.

As for the chatting I know I have said some words that should not have. I do admit that.

I do notice that on ESO something in my brain fries, goes pop and buzz, then I re-read the chat and facepalm myself so hard that I scare the cats -and the neighborhood pidgeons fly away. It never happens to me on other media like the forums, raidcall or guild wars 2, but on ESO I go full tard sauce and drop the ball so hard it hurts.

Also I want to apologize for that and I will work extra hard to avoid it, find the faulty switch in my head and replace it, consider taking it easy in-game. This ear problems I'm having are not exactly brightening my day (previously, on GSCH, I have been diagnosed with ménière's disease, so I'm partially deaf, dizzy, with bouts of vertigo, and depression because of it). You guys are awesome and I will work to keep things around awesome too.

All to funny - awwww fudge!    I remember my best friends son....

well, first let me explain that my best friend swore like a truck driver who was having a really bad day on a long road trip and then had a blow out while already being behind schedule.  This was on good days for her but she was a 5'5", 110 lb., dainty little wisp of a thing.

... who was just two years old and had just witnessed his mom hit her head on a cabinet door.   He then yelled out, in front of a small group of her friends, in his little two year old sweet as apple pie voice,   "That must have Fudging hurt!"   except he didn't use the word fudge either.

As total embarrassment drained all the color from her face, all I could do was stare in amazement.  This was not because he used the word, since I knew with his mom's potty mouth it was only a matter of time, but because he used it in such proper context and the sentence structure for a child who had just turned two years old was just awesome!  :)  I still laugh about it when I recall it... she is still attempting to forget it but I won't ever let her although from that day forward I have never heard her swear again.

As I heard on a talk show the other day, remember I am retired and watch way too much TV, that using 4 letter word is just being lazy since you don't want to think of another word that would work.  I, however, believe that sometimes a 4 letter word can be the most appropriate word for a specific situation... That situation is just never in Guild chat or general RC chat ;)

You all have a safe and wondrous day!
