Resource tip

Thought that some others might like this info.  If your like me and gather pretty much everything you can find then you know that ESO can be a pain in the butt because the game looks great.  With all the grass and bushes it can be hard to locate some of those item nodes.   Fear not, there is an option and I'm sorry that I can't remember the exact name but it turns off the grass.  It is a simple check box that does wonders.  Now you don't have all the grass but you can see the resource nodes from a distance and easily find them.   I did this during beta and quickly gathered materials while some people were complaining about not being able to find nodes.

I'm sure this will work in release so I wanted to share the info with the guild.

Disabling grass was a great feature in Oblivion and Skyrim to spare the CPU and see farther.  I'm very surprised that they offer it in a competitive online game, though.

funny enough im pretty sure the option is just called Grass and has a check box, though a single skill point in Keen Eye will work just as well and you wont lose out on the beauty of the landscape, if your cpu can handle it.

should you want to disable the grass you can do so now, all your graphics options are available (except the UI scale which you must be in game to change) simply click play and go to the options on the login screen.

I wish Keen Eye was more noticeable from further away than currently. I have only tried a single point so far and I would usually notice nodes before I was close enough for Keen Eye to shine. Seemed like a huge waste to me. :/ I assume more points make it better, but it better be much better.. lol.

Keen Eye is very useful for night-time resource gathering :)

keen eye is roughly 20/40/60 yards for 1/2/3 points so it does increase in distance and for me, rocks look like rocks, everyone said that ore nodes are easy to spot and i did not experience that at all, but with keen eye i saw them right away, but then again maybe i just didnt play enough in the beta lol, i dunno if id use it for any other gathering, i found alchemy, woodworking, etc resources a lot more easily.  and if you arent horrible at spotting things (like my keys in front of my face on the counter) it is still great for night gathering

I'd recommend using keen eye for your primary crafting skill until you have more experience in the game.  You can always respec to reclaim those skill points later on when you feel you don't need it any longer.  Crafting offers a few skill points which essentially get you free stuff.  Keen eye and hirelings are two of them.  You're bound to miss some resource nodes you would have gotten with keen eye.  With your first character trying to stockpile some gold to buy bank slot expansions I'd recommend going with both of these until you have a nice pile of coin to work with.  Chances are you will want to respec your character after you've been Vet Rank 1 for a few days and have a more focused direction for your build anyhow.
