I love the idea as well. Where's the challenge in running back to the old locations and grabbing the shards?
This is great! SkysharDs should be about discovery! About the joy of find them, not reading a list and do it like a grocery store list!

This is not a minor change, are there not hints in the achievements for all the locations? Also, is this the kind of thing that would go in the website discovery system?

I have no issue with this but where did this come from .. i haven't been able to find anything on an official ESO page or source related to this. .. just curious to read the entire article.
Looks like this is just a rumor on Reddit .. there doesn't seem to be any official source for this. I really don't see them spending time to change them with all the other issue they have to fix this week. We will see.
Yeah I wouldnt think it would be as simple as changing the hole location on a golf course, also, ESO doesn't seem to have a problem with people being able to look up a map online to find them all, the point of ESO is choice, if you wanna discover them on your own do so, if you want to pull up a premade map with the locations, do so. I wouldn't mind them changing the skyshard locations but it doesnt fit the pattern of intent.

your right I can find nothing on ESO site, however people at TF are quite convinced its going to happen. As for me I really hope that it does

Aye! Would be ok with me as I stopped doing quests during beta so I would not "burn-out" on repeating them come live but, unless it's an official post I doubt they will take the time to change it all. /shrug ya never know :)
That does seem like kind of a strange thing to spend so much time changing, but I wouldn't really mind either way. I'm sure if they did then in a couple weeks new maps would just come out with all the updated locations anyways. Thats just the way it works.
i can see why they would want to change them around so ppl have to start looking for them again, but that being said a lot fo them are either in a public dungeon ( they aren't very big so wouldn't be that difficult to find, others are found near specific monuments or key lore regions, so again how can they change all of that and not ruin some of the lore they are trying to build....
I think it's an awesome thing to do and applaud the principle. But people will find them and collect locations online within days so the only true limiter on that sort of exploration is a player's commitment not to go look them up still. A shame...
That said, when I win the lottery, my MMO will have phasing and random locations for such things to just add to the most frustratingly annoying MMO ever made that isn't WoW. ;-P

I wouldn't mind, gives me another excuse to explore (not that I really need one). But I remember the same rumor about the SWTOR datacrons back before launch and it never happened. Just food for thought.
To me this seems like a poor use of a developer's time. As mentioned above, there's still going to be many sites that list skyshard locations, this move would just delay those a few days.
That said, I don't care if the skyshards are moved or not, because I don't know where most of them were in the first place, and I'm not in any sort of race to get them. Therefore I will reserve my internet outrage for another topic!
as for event on skyshard run I'm sure there will be some in no time, might just not be right out of the box simply because we will need to map them out first

I think at the end of the day that was just bad info.
I concur TF has locked the post, given the poster an infraction and declared it bad info.
I feel really stupid for even posting it, it just sounded like a great thing to me. I had no idea it was bad info when I posted it on the guild forums, however I will never post anything again with out reading the article the quote was supposedly taken from and posting the source link with the actual source text. Again this was bad info post off reddit and TM. I apologize to all that wasted time on it. I truly feel like a complete idiot.

I actually hope that they keep changing things up so that nothing is stagnant - maybe every 3 - 6 months. I know it would be work on their part, but it would make for a much more interesting world.

I think it's a good idea. I'm glad there will be changes so live won't feel like I'm just going through the motion I already know. I want to explore again.
dont blame yourself for posting the info here, blame the original person who posed it on tf and reddit :) and to morigana in regards to changing things up, they will be changing things and likely more often than every 3-6 months, thats what the subscription fee is for so they can release new substantial content every 4-6 weeks :D

This gave me a lot of hope that changes and new content will be forthcoming at a very reasonable rate. Maybe I am reading more into it than I should but I have never heard of a company hiring more people after the launch of a major MMO. The business model has been to layoff dev's and coast on a core group while you recoup your initial investment.
This made me feel like I would be getting some bang for my subscription bucks.
