Hi everyone. I did not make it to lvl 10 in the last beta (or is it 15) to test out the swapping out of weapon sets.

Does anyone out there know if we can have more than 2 weapon sets hot-barred? Or is it just 2?

I'm really hoping it is more than 2. It would be very nice say to have 1 set as dual blades which could swap to sword n board for extra protection, but also a 3rd for a bow.

Just two weapon sets can be equipped at any one time to switch between. Of course you could have your sword and board, plus dual wields equipped and then keep your bow in your inventory ready to quip when not in combat. Then you would have to change skills on the bar manually whilst you are out in the field if you come across a fight that you think would go better with that weapon.

Thanks for the response Raighan. Is it just me, or does this seem a bit game limiting? I really hope they add at least one more weapon set.

I personally hope they keep it at 2.  If they give 3 or more swap outs. they might as well just  throw in 20-40 slot taskbars like wow.

I'm OK with having it at 2 having just come from GW2 and that's what they had.

Well, I kinda like that you are limited to the 10 skills (plus the 2 ultimate slots) but I played gw1 for a long time and it was my first mmo - in that game it was all about the build, what you chose to put on your bar was what you were stuck with for the whole instance (GW1 was all instanced outside of the cities) you couldn't change skills or anything until you were back in town. So for me this is reminiscent of the same way of constructing your build, but it has much more flexibility. The only thing I don't like is that toggle abilities have to be on both bars, so pets take up too many slots grrrr

The 2 set swapping is effective at keeping you thinking about building your own sort of archetype.

I find it much more flexible than GW2 in terms of the choices because of the very strong effects that weapon choice actually has on your character.   Weapon choice focus can drive party-role more significantly than class choice - which is different than GW2 and many other MMOs.

I've definitely worked with both DK & NB tanks who had similar weapon choices and were both quite effective at their roles.

Now, for someone like a sorcerer, it ends up driving your role between Heal & DPS since it's quite common for a Sorc to pick a restoration staff as a second wpn type.  Plus, they can switch out to their DPS set during combat if the health levels are nice.  Very appealing to the normal sorc situation where they can't get a party because they are solely DPS. ;)
