PTS 1.6

By: TernieLaBiscuit

Let me start out by saying, yes, one of the first things I did was kill a bard. Past that, here we go.

First off, over the course of a few hours the past two nights, I have managed to get to level 7 of the Thieving class (there's some long L word they use for it, but I don't care because ESO doesn't even call being a Werewolf Lycanthropy).

I have been doing the majority of my thieving in Craglorn, specifically in Belkarth. You level up by pickpocketing, breaking into houses, and lockpicking strongboxes you find. There are a few places you can find the strongboxes (which I believe they call Safe Boxes, but basically mini-chests that contain high $$ loot).

* Star Gazer's. There are 2 locations on the first floor. One behind the desk where the Magister is located (there's a cubby area before the stairs, the desk is on the left wall). The second location is located directly across the way, where the Armsman is located. The strongbox is in the corner on the right side of the area.

* Gem and Flask. Sometimes, you will find a strongbox behind the Alchemist's desk.

* Woodworking Station. The strongbox is located behind the keeper's workstation, in the far left corner from the entrance.

* Blacksmith Station. There is one on the half wall where the blacksmithing is upstairs. As you go up the stairs, it would be on the right wall, sitting on the ledge. You can easily loot the strongbox, jump out the window, and run behind the adjacent Woodworker's Station to enter the Belkarth Outpost (which is behind the building).

* Bank of Belkarth. It's to the left of the main desk in the back of the room. You can crouch behind a barrel and loot it from there, usually undetected.

I have several pictures to show, but I haven't uploaded them yet, so check back here and I'll have pictures of some things I've done within the line, items I've received, general achievement things.

Past the thieving is the Champion system. I seem to have put most of my points in one of the trees in each of the sections. However, it appears respecing these points only costs 100 gold to do so. For how long, or whether this is tiered, who knows.

Mounts, costumes, and general collectibles are different now. Instead of them being items in your bank, they are in a new tab, one with shapes if I recall. You want to select your mount, do it there. The mounts have been changed in a way that I rather like. You upgrade the specs (which have been bumped from 50 to 60), you can upgrade each spec (stamina, speed and inventory). Pack Merchants do not allow you to upgrade to the current maximum.

The Provisioning changes completely confound me. I feel like I should just make a bunch of Consummate Honey Brittle before they switch recipes, because it looks as if the potions, food and drinks we make translate into something new, right along with 95% of the ingredients. This is something far too detailed for me to explain -- you just have to experience it for yourself. One good thing is that the foods actually make sense, and seem like reasonable things people would eat. I actually wish that they would change it so you could eat just ingredients if you need a small boost.

It is rumored that the Crown Store will open on Monday. It is not currently open. When it did open, I was not awarded any Crowns, but was amused by the male characters in Wedding Dresses twerking.

A few bugs, that I hope are bugs:

1) The guards in town are INVINCIBLE. As in, if you get caught, you either have to outrun them or pay them the bounty and you lose all your stolen items on hand (if they haven't been laundered).
2) You can no longer port to player via the Guild screen; it seems you can only port to players that are on your friends list.

A few other things that I noticed, since I spend so much time in Craglorn farming.

1) There is a small boat on the water as you walk away from the Guild Vendors to Spellscar.
2) Packs of Jackals will now attack you (and are easier to beat than wasps.... I still hate wasps)
3) The infamous goat is no longer on the bed in Dragonstar. He's standing next to the bed, chewing on a backpack.

I'll be adding to this as I remember things, along with those pictorial links later. In the meantime, enjoy the experience!

EDIT: By the time Monday morning came around, I was a level 11 Ledgermain. I had over 100k in my bank. I had many of the Justice achievements, and had almost enough points to get another Champion point. When it was "Play the Devs" night in Cyrodiil, I wasn't able to play due to severe lag issues. In the 45 minutes or so that I was on, I didn't see one Dev at all.

UPDATE:

I'm watching the ZOS Twitch in regards to 1.6 updates. Here's what I got:

1) If you currently play on PC/Mac, your account is COPIED, not TRANSFERRED, so you can play on BOTH PC and console, so long as you have a separate account for each.
2) Bounties are character specific, NOT account specific.
3) Hrothgar (new area) is going to be like Auridon. Mercmire (new area) is believed to be a group zone, but not confirmed.
4) In case you didn't hear, there is a new intro tutorial playthrough. It explains combat better, and is a more cinematic tutorial than before. You might make a new character on 1.6 just to check that out.
5) Many new loading screens are added into the mix (even though we all hate the loading screens)
6) Lots of talking about the Justice system, most of which I've already talked about above.
7) Provisioning: Moldy, rotten food can be found, and if eaten will make you sick.
8) You can now weapon swap while on your mount.
9) Sorcs will get more damage and reduced cooldown times on some abilities.
10) Some of the bugs with Werewolf CC will be fixed in the next 1.6 patch.
11) Housing is one of the top things that people request. Currently, it's not something that is not being worked on, but is on the "want to do" list.
