Spawn Camping & The Gaiscioch

Honor

I will honor the community by acting in a manor that speaks of our kindness, I will refrain from activities that would dishonor the community, and I will honor the requests of the community elders. I will fight my opponents with honor, giving them a fair fight. I will not spawn camp, grief, cheat, or harass my opponents. I will encourage them to fight and win my battles with the highest of honors.

 

I've heard several reports of people Spawn Camping in Conquest. This is not the Gaiscioch way and if you are seen partaking in this activity you will be swiftly removed from the family permanently. This is a very very very dishonorable act and is against the credo you signed registering to this website. 

Remember, your welcome to PvP but do so honorably. Do not spawn camp, do not strike those who do not provide challenge, and do not beat people while their down. Knock your foes down and help them back up.

Couldn't agree more. We need to hold ourselves to a higher standard in all that we do.

Sadly, I expect only a small fraction of the current family have ever visited these forums, and every will. In Rift, many people joined just to have the name of a big guild over their heads or be with their buddies and didn't care about the who we are and why.

For those being camped in Nightfall base, if you go back up the stairs, instead of down and out the main entrance, you can usually escape the base that way... until Trion fixes the turrets so they are a real deterrent to a raid group being near the base, you should be able to rez and go out the back way and avoid the mass of people farming the entrance to the base.

The point here is that if you are Gaiscioch, DO NOT SPAWN CAMP! Okay, put that in caps, but if you are on this website you signed not to do this. It's EVERYONE's rep with the Gaiscioch tag on their head impacted by people reporting us as part of the spawn campers.

I also posted our rule annd credo on the wall of both sides of the. House. Point there for reference. If a Gaiscioch is seen doing this the elders have authorization to warn then kick on sight.

I would not be surprised if a lot of Gaiscioch never reads the wall either, so perhaps a macro which flatly states the rule and consequences is in order. This is why I've been trying to get people to register on the site and read/sign the rules as soon as they join.

It might be easier seen as part of the message of the day that pops up each time you log in ingame.

It would be nice to put it in the MOTD but space is limited there. :(

People don't read the motd either. The secret word is there yet I get approached every day for the secret word.
