Roaming the MMO District

I have played quite a few MMOs - You know the ones that everyone and their brother has played. Maybe some they havent even heard of haha. I am not going to list them all we would  be here all night and I am sure someone will be calling you for supper soon. I stopped playing the subscription based-log in for 4 hours straight type when my son was born. That being said I am looking to get into something new. What I am looking for is something relatively new - free - i dont mind cash shop ( its hubby money anyways :D:D:D ) with a small close knit community where I can log in for an hour or two here and there and feel good about myself when I log out and not second guess about logging in the next day.

Mouthful or what. Runnnnn Sentence Runnnn! Yes I am a nut. So if anyone has any suggestions or has a game they think would fit the bill and want someone to follow them around while they hack and slash or hack and farm let me know! I have Steam. I dont mind games like Aura Kingdom or games like Eldevin. 

P.S. No money upfront games.

I'm really fond of Champions Online, is free-to-play, you can play from level 1 to 40 and all the content without spending a dime, of course the gold subscription gives you better optimization options, more hats, you can paint your powers and chose where you are shooting the lazers from, but it's not a bad game if you are free-to-play, so you can get your feets wet and taste the whole game before getting a subscription.

The forum community can get a bit weird, but overall it's a good group of people :3

Rift is free. I enjoyed that quite a bit, but then quit for GW2.

Kitty I was looking for something more fantasy.

Rift and Guild Wars 2 are really the only ones that I play right now that are free but offer so much with the game.

I played Tera for the first time in years.  It is easy to pick up mechanics and not hardcore.  Logged in just to check out recent changes and suddenly found 4 hours of my life sucked away. It's not my normal style of MMO but I suddenly realized that it is just simply fun and it works.  It is the most well run MMO in that everything works the way it should (NO, it's not perfect but it sets the bar high), and that I value fun highly when choosing a game.  And it is free so you can poke your nose in it for a sniff test.

Yell at me if you need a guide in game.
