Another guild I'm in is starting to look at this game, and I know very little about it other than it's a sandbox MMO in the alpha stages of testing as well as has many interesting/intriguing aspects to the game. The graphics look enjoyable the choices seem endless and very open. Was just wondering if anyone from Gaischioch has seen/heard anything about this game. I couldn't find any links easily on the forum. So just looking for any feedback anyone can give given that there is a NDA.
Heard of, yes. Looks like I've had it bookmarked, so that I could watch it, but I haven't heard anything about it, since whenever it was that I bookmarked their site.
Repopulation... so.. what is the object of the game? To repopulate the world? :) Sounds like The Sims.
From the sounds of what I've been told by other people it's a 1st person shooter Scifi mmorpg with very sandbox skills (the more you use a weapon the more skilled you get in it). Very complex crafting system, housing, no forced pvp but allowed to choose to pvp in contested areas (unless you join a rogue nation?), no leveling system you improve based on equipment bonuses, etc etc etc
I guess it's being described as a mix of SWG, Ultima Online and a little bit of Tabula Rasa. I haven't played any of those games so if that says anything to anyone then I'm all ears.
Was just throwing a thread out there about this game as supposedly closed beta will be starting this fall/winter sometime.

They describe their game as "play how you want, when you want" (sound familar?) :) The last video I watched, ended with "Play great PVP if you want, when you want". I like games that don't force you into something you don't want to do.
It seems the game can be played as a first person, or as a traditional RPG. One thing that stood out to me was the pet system. One way to have a pet is to tame a small creature, and nurture it while it grows... Or... you can design a genetically altered machine/creature/beast.
This game could be promising. It's been in development for awhile, and appears to be in closed alpha testing. The game is also crowdfunded.
Ya I linked that same site in my first post. :) I may pledge $25 bucks to do the betas just to see if it's something that's interesting to me. It's a F2P game once you buy it. It's going to have a cash shop, but supposedly will only be with flashy items not potions and P2W stuff..... (I'll hold my breath until I see it)
Just be aware that "sandbox" is the current buzz-word of the month with many game developers, especially those looking for crowd-source funding. Designing one properly is not as easy as they try to make it sound and many games fall short (or have to re-design) because its not actually as popular as the Vocal Minority tries to make it appear.
Sadly, "sandbox" is one of the most commonly mistaken word in the gamer's dictionary. It means different things to different players, some don't even have a clue, they're just parroting because they heard a friend use the term.
