Just out of curiosity, any former warhammer fanatics going to check it out? Founders packs go on sale Wed and though I won't be getting one (going to wait for the beta) and was kinda curious as to what people think about this rendition.... limited ftp. Free players get to play as orks and if you buy the game you get everything.
I'm currently subscribed to their mailing list and looking forward to see how it turns out. I didn't realize it was limited f2p.
Yea not sure if I'm a fan of limited but I still figure I'll give it a shot and play around as an ork for a while XD

This game is going to be like Planetside 2, but with a megaserver and it's gonna be all Warhammer 40k like.

I think I'll take a wait and see approach with this game. I'm not really a huge fan of the action MMO genre anyways and this game seems to be even more first person shooter oriented.
That being said, it has a nice rich background so hopefully they won't screw it up lol.

I didn't literally mean that it was going to be a first person shooter. ;0
What I meant was that it's closer to a shooter than a true MMO. This taken right from it's on FAQ about combat:
Even though Eternal Crusade is an MMO in a persistent open world, the combat plays out like a proper third-person shooter. You point where you want to shoot or strike and hitting your target is based on skill. There are no ability bars or auto-attack systems, and if you want to evade or block an incoming attack, you press a button to roll out of the way or hold down the guard button.
I might be old fashioned but a game where you use weapons and have no quests and no ability bars sounds more like a shooter than an mmo. Maybe I'm just splitting hairs here but it seems to be more of a shooter with rpg elements than an mmo with shooter elements.
Anyways, it's not like I'm not intrigued. I was following Dark Millenium before it went away. I've always like the Games Workshop universe in both 40k and Fantasy. I just don't know if I want to play Halo with Orcs ;0
Well yeah, Eternal Crusade is supposed to be a lot like Planetside 2, actually. :3
I plan on playing as the Orks, and if the game turns out to be fun, paying for it.
Love WH40K. Not crazy about being one of the boyz though, unless you can be a Cybork. Will they have playable Inquisition? Ordo Xenos would be awesome.

I looked at the founder's packs and was a bit blown away by the highest priced one lol. $450? That's a crazy amount to spend on a game that isn't even in Alpha.
Considering how popular Space Marines are in the tabletop game, there might be more of that faction than even the F2P Ork faction lol. I like how they are including different Chapters, Craftworlds, Legions, etc. but I wonder if it's only cosmetic or if there will actually be gameplay differences.
