Hi Helpful Family Members!

I love Gaiscioch and I feel lucky to have finally found myself a part of the family.  The next big game for me will be ESO but it seems I am at an impasse.  The potential official chapter is set to be in Ebonheart Pact but I have always played a Breton in TES games and I am comepletely thrilled about High King Emeric and the lore ZOS has in place for the Daggerfall Covenant.

My questions is this:  Do we create Saighdear chapters for the other factions or would it be better for me to start a Tuatha guild.  Please keep in mind I would loathe losing my status as a Gaiscioch member.

1) I don't think you would lose your status with us in the family. You may get roflstomped by us in pvp though ;) 2) Fog hasn't announced anything for a saigdhear for the other factions. I think that there wouldn't be a Gascioch sponsored guild because of the siege and world pvp that will go on. That way there aren't any accusations of things like spying/cross-realming and the like. That being said, however, you could always create your own guild. I don't know the intricacies of joining the Tuatha, so I can't help you there, but I know I'd like to experience the different groups. I played DAoC with my brothers and my dad, many years ago, back in Catacombs and Darkness Rising, and I personally favored Albs, even though we mainly ran Mids. When it comes down to it, there will always be a place for you here with the Gaiscioch, because it's a family, not just a guild. And, check this from the About the Gaiscioch page. "The Gaiscioch are a social gaming community with a relaxed approach toward gaming. They allow their members to play how they want, when they want, as long as they want and do not constrict them with quotas or requirements." It's up to you.

I know other family members who have said about the same thing based on their play of other Elder Scroll games. If we have a full chapter in ESO, I know we won't be doing any Saighdear guild stuff. I also think the tuatha will be of the same faction in order to ally and stuff much like we did in Warhammer. This is due to accusations that can arise. We want our enemies to know we fight fair and enjoy it as much as we do. We actually had that when on Badlands in Warhammer. If it winds up a Saighdear, I'm not sure where it will end up. So far what Fog is getting as info is making seem like a likely chapter, but he'll definitely be making sure of it really fitting the Gaiscioch needs better than other games we have thought would work that had parts not pan out at launch to fit the way the family has evolved. Definitely NOT an easy job. I've seen the list, but here's to things going the right way so we can feel like one family with one main home and not segmented all over to find the game that fits for now to each playstyle.

Don't mess with Mama Bear, I might hug you too tight. =D

I personally do not think it would be appropriate to set up a network of associated saigdhear or tuatha guilds because we do not want it to look like we are cross-realming or win trading. It is a relevant question to be discussed at elder meetings though. Once we have a release date and the game is pending, we can iron out any queries like this and answer your question.

Its too early to tell how all thats gonna work. But we learned our lesson with Rift about trying to run multiple factions. As far as I heard you wont be locked into a faction so you can always have a closet ebon for family events and have your main toon playing with another guild. Do whatever is fun for you. You wont be kicked out of the family or anything.

Hm. That's interesting. Always a wrench that gets tossed into the works, isn't there. My opinion: Go cross-factional if they're not locking factions. The difference for Gaiscioch from most other guilds, is that its a social gaming community, not a gaming guild, so it operates on different principles. Respect of the community is earned anyway, and I have no doubt that Gaiscioch will quickly dispel any doubts about the integrity of their members, regardless of their faction. Besides, guilds that cross-realm and "game the system" do it covertly and under the table, by using different guild names and try to hide their activities. So if a gaming community like Gaiscioch is open, up-front and honest about their structure, faction participation and activities, then folks won't have a whole lot of self-conclusions to go off half-cocked and make-up wild accusations about. I realize that there's a lot more background/infrastructural stuff involved if Gaiscioch picks TESO up as a full blown chapter, but IMO its a gaming community, and in a community, the people come first, the game comes second. So its important that folks be able to play what they enjoy and have fun as a whole, rather than feeling isolated or unhappy being locked into a particular "side". edit: (For what its worth, this is the kind of stuff that I'd given a lot of thought about when I was working to rebuild my gaming community.)

I plan on having a character in each alliance while focusing on my Ebonheart Pact main with the family. From the little information I have read from interviews, if I have a character in Gaiscioch on Ebonheart Pact, my other characters will be in different AvA campaigns. If this turns out to be true then there wont be any conflict of interest as my characters on Daggerfall will never see Gaisciochs' Cyrodiil campaign. From a community management point of view, as Fog said, we just cannot support multiple alliance(faction) guilds. There is too much management required and our past attempts at this (Rift) did not work well. I plan on having a character for each alliance though. My main is planned to be a Nord Nightblade, but that might change as I'm still waiting to see what each class is capable of. If nightblade doesn't suit me I may very well become a Templar/Warrior priest type like I was in Warhammer (I settled on WP because I didn't like the WH). This is assuming Gaiscioch do end up having a chapter for ESO. I don't even know if I'm going to like it yet, if I don't I'll continue ripping it up in GW2.

I understand. Even with delegation, it still spreads the leadership thin. I tried doing it with SWTOR and completely lost my Republic "house", I was spread to thinly and my attempts at finding reliable officers to delegate to, failed. What happened with RIFT? Seems like there are a lot of Elder ranked members.

Ah. That's interesting, but yea... I can see that happening with this family. I'm not saying its a bad thing, just that there are unique quirks to Gaiscioch that don't necessarily exist in other guilds. Oh well, that's a shame. Nevermind my earlier comments, then. I think I understand better now.
