Last week we showed you the preview vid for Guild Wars 2's latest living story update. Today ArenaNet is publishing the full patch, as Point of the No Return has officially gone live. The firm says that "in addition to bringing the Season 2 storyline to its epic conclusion, Point of No Return delivers new gameplay and access to new treasures." Completing the story will get you the Carapace armor set headgear while fighting the Mordrem Vinewrath gives you a chance to loot the Carapace chest, according to the latest GW2 press release.

In other Guild Wars 2 news, thanks to a recent ArenaNet trademark filing, clever Redditors have uncovered what they suspect is the name of the game's rumored expansion: Heart of Thorns. Think they're right? We've included the logo below.

I heard a discussion where it could not be an expansion like people are hoping and speculating, but it could be a"DLC" of seasons one and two of the living story. 

Throwing my bets behind an Expansion rather than a Living story DLC pack (though, both could easily be true at the same time).

We are close to the 2.5 year point of GW2 which would be a good time for an expansion, plus the logo seems to indicate it will involve the Elder Dragon Mordremoth, which the living story seems to have been building up to.

Whatever the case, it seems we don't have long to wait for the big reveal - just a week and a half.

It will be an xpac.

That being said, I do find the theories of DLC for LS 1&2 to be interesting.  I don't think that's what this will be, but I do hope they make that content available.  Personally, I did skip a lot of it, and regret it, and it would make sense to make that content available, somehow, to new people.

I hope it's not an xpac of past Season 2 living stories since I already unlocked (bought with gems) the ones I missed.   Anyone can do this today from their story journal (under H).  200 gems per chapter.

Season 1, maybe, but as I recall those were more zone events (like Scarlett)... hard to see those being playable solo.

I hope this newly marketed content is not a rehash of the old stuff, or a new "bundle" for stuff we can already buy!
