Just thought it was interesting that our friends from across the lake were watching our footage :D

I guess its like watching game day footage, eh? lol They may only have 38 MERC/allies in their squad, but they have a lot of pick-ups and tagalongs that run with them. Especially in a Keep take. I count red names by mentally grouping circles in 5's, its pretty accurate even when they're trying to "mask their numbers" with port and veil. Its a habit I picked up in DAOC, used in WAR and just naturally fell into using here. TBH, the only time I really notice guild tags are either when someone else calls it out, or there are enough of them to trip one of my visual triggers to take notice. Interesting comment about their not having not having a "WvW quota", wasn't it Jexia that mentioned it and said its posted in the recruitment section on their website? I haven't checked, don't really care, but funny that he comments on that, heh.

Back when they were on Sea of Sorrows, there used to be two MERCs: Black Lion Mercenary Corps and Black Lion Mercenary Brigade. Both were branches of the same guild and wore the MERC tag. The Corps were the self-described "Hardcore WvW Guild": · WvW Focus Only · Daily WvW Events. Weekend WvW Mandatory. · WvW participation expected. · Must adhere to WvW Call to Arms when issued. · Class, builds, stats, weapons must focus on WvW function "Members who cannot adhere to the demanding hardcore lifestyle are encouraged to move to Brigade." The Brigade was for people who enjoyed WvW but weren't ready to commit to playing hardcore. But their original Guild Leader, Jedahs, left in January and there's nothing recent about the Brigade on their website. It says they're "operating under a new guild formed specifically on [Blackgate]" since late February. I looked into Merc (as in checked out their recruiting posts) during my brief stay on Sea of Sorrows, before I came to SoR to join Gaiscioch, but they seemed a bit full on for me... Sounds like things have relaxed a bit since they moved to Blackgate.

I've chatted a few times with WvW'ers from SoS. Back when you could invite downed players to party ( not sure if you still can). I have to admit they were all pretty cool peeps. Not what I would call "hardcore" in chat. Pretty much "Good fight!" or maybe some thing like "Ok ya got me but I'll be back LOL!" The funniest one I got was when I was invited to there group after they killed me while I was trying to protect a Yak and they said "ALL YOUR YAKS BELONG TO US!! .. lol no seriously good try."
