Gaiscioch Secret Santa Gift Exchange Event

Gaisciach is having a Secret Seasonal Gift Exchange! What does this mean? Members who sign up will be randomly assigned a person to whom they will anonymously give a gift. It will be very similar to secret santa, just with 80% more political correctness! Note that your gift recipient and giver will not necessarily be the same person. Also Note that this will be for GW2 game only at this time. 

How to participate:

• Reply to the thread stating you wish to participate
• • GW2 Players: Please provide your account name (for example, Eve.3078) before December 5, 2014
  • • Wait until Blue (and only Blue.2710, as this could be very confusing) sends you a mail in game telling you who your recipient is.
    • Start Brainstorming / Go out and get the gift.
    • Wait until the deadline date range to mail your gift to that person: December 20-31
• Rules:
  
  • Get a gift that benefits whomever you are getting it for. I do not want to see someone give a 2H sword to a Necromancer. Be thoughtful! This is where your detective skills should come into play.
  • Gifts can be monetary (in game money) and/or in-game items.
  • Limits: The point is to give in the spirit of giving. Be nice and don't be cheap (if you need help coming up with the money, let an officer know).
  • • GW2: 20 gold value minimum for currency gifts and in-game items; including gem shop.
    • Don't tell anyone who your gift recipient is.
  
  Deadlines: 
  
  • Sign up deadline will be Monday, December 5th.
  • Giftee name will be sent via in game mail on December 10.
  • The deadline date range to send in your gifts by mail (in game) or the date range your recipient should receive their gift is December 20th through December 31st.

I'm down for this, it should be quite fun.

I haven't been back to GW2 for very long, so any *general* ideas about what would make a cool gift are welcome.  Somehow I don't think 20g worth of "Lumps of Coal" is quite what folks want.  :D

20g of lumps of coal would be pretty funny though :)

Exotics

Mini pets

Gem store boosters, Black Lion Keys, Toys (Watch for sales)

If you know someone is building a legendaryor assended, help with crafting supplies is nice

Creative food feast -Omnomberry bars, tonics, & potions, focused on magic find, exp, or specific dungeon runs

AR for the Fractal of the Myst runners

Siege stuff and specific WVW stuff for the most awesome comanders

Ect. (if you have more ideas feel free to post)

Think about what you would want if you were in that persons shoes. :) 

Oh and for those really creative or that have the time:

Coupons for stuff like:

offers of dungeon run partners, farming partner, fotm partners in the increments of time spent with them.

offers to cook, or craft when needed if your skilled in a certain area

Offers to role play with roleplaying community if they are into that, or to play music on instruments with/for them if your into that... 

Jump puzzle messmer on call.. omg that was one of my personal favorite gifts one year.. I hate jump puzzles but got many of them done cause of my messmer friend and it helped me so much! 

Hope some of these ideas spark creativity and inspiration for you.

Oh I forgot to mention last year, my Secret Santa gave me an In-game spa package, total make over kit with chocolate variety of foods, and my very own boy toy to do my bidding in game.. Lord Faren Mini! I have to tell you that was so awesome that he was so creative about it!

Year before that my Secret Santa new about my love of the Winters Day Game the one with the musical bell, so she gave me a permanent bell with tab sheet music for christmas! Just a few more creative ideas I thought i would pass along.

Now the cogs are going to be a surprise, Blue :3

Any chance those of us participating can give some lists of things we're interested in vs not? Like say "I'm a big minipet fan, and I don't have anything from series 3 yet" or "I like collecting minipets, some reasonable or extravagant ones I'm currently after are X" as well "I'm also working towards the $ for this or that precusor/etc". Basically any chance of us being able to give guidance to an extent so our giftee isn't blind? Reddit santa does a similar thing. What the person lists isn't required to listened to/gotten, but general ideas/preferences/interests can help steer gifting in the right direction so gifts aren't as easy to screw up (which saying "don't get a 2h for a necro" isn't wrong, but it doesn't give us an idea of what they would be interested in. Not all necros want same items/skills/skins etc.)

EDIT - Cool...Well, I'll just say my two biggest interests right now would be working on Kudzu and working on my minipet collection, which truthfully is sporadically filled with a mix of limited time/holiday/series pets, so honestly if I got anything from either of those, dupes or not, I'd love em to bits.

Also I'm a MASSIVE lore fanatic, so if there's any minis out there of GW1 or GW2 heroes that aren't inherently account bound you think I may be interested in, feel free to consider those. That said, I'm sure I'd enjoy w/e I get...as long as it's not like a gun. Rangers don't use such silly terrible weaponry :P

To whomever was my secret santa, thank you for the wonderful gift. I had meant to reply to the in-game email but I hit delete instead of reply :P

I was silly - didn't even think on how to give the gift without putting me name on it.  Pain meds still recovering from my surgery.  But at least I remembered to send it ;-)

aye I sent mine through the black lion mail. So the recipient definately knows who it's from.

I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate you for setting this up for us Blue! Wow, what fun it was... It really put me in the holiday spirit.

Big hugs for my very generous Secret Santa who sent me all the lovely T6 mats that I was in great need of for making Rodgort. I am getting closer....
