Welcome back to Tamriel Infinium, folks. I'll be your new writer, but don't worry about Larry. He's alive, well, and we're lucky to have him back at the helm of Hyperspace Beacon here on Massively.

I've done plenty of dedicated game columns in the past, but it has been a while, so you'll have to bear with me while I shoot from the hip for a week or three and figure out what's best for this space. One thing I know already is that I dig Elder Scrolls Online, even though that's a pretty unpopular opinion in some quarters. With that in mind, let's poke fun at anti-ESO hipsters after the break, shall we?

Good to read some articles that give ESO some good press that it deserve.

I disagree with the author.  He thinks that people want ESO to fail, and that's just not true.  People want it to succeed, so that they can get their friends to come play it.  How often have you told a friend to come play a game with you, but its got a lot of problems and that they may be frustrated, but if they hang in there and wait it out with you, things will maybe get better?

This guy can cheerlead about ESO and poke fun at whoever he wants, but it doesn't change the fact that a large % of the original game purchasers are frustrated and fed up with the issues and have decided to cancel and go play other games, while they wait/hope that ZOS fixes the issues that have made the game unbearable for them.  Of course they expect more: They bought a $60 game and pay $15 a month to play it.  At this point, we've all invested over $100 in playing this game.  Yea, it adds up, folks.

Its a video game.  No one wants to play a game that's frustrating and makes you feel bad.  People want to play a game, have fun and feel good afterwards, its as simple as that.  Sometimes I think that game companies forget that and just see it as dollar signs on a shareholder report.
