Templar Nightblade ESOHead Build

I spent some time on a slow day at work today putting together a rough idea of how to make an imperial nightblade tank work, any thoughts, pros cons etc is it even at all viable?

edited to a link instead of a really long web address stretching the post out lol

There were some amazing Veil of Blades AoE solo tank videos in the Obsidian Scar dungeon on Youtube before the last nerf.  Not sure if it's still viable now.

you all forget all class can be tanks, the skills work out so you can tank in so many different ways,  so whether one person tell you no that class cant be a tank well they are wrong, I saw a sorc tank with a resto staff in is hands soak up more dmg that I thought possible, but he stood there self healing and taking it in.... forget what old mmo thought you about class roles, ESO changed that

I see various NB Tanks on Reddit.
Seems very viable, I advice you to search on their builds to get some extra ideas (y)

My biggest issue with non-tanking classes would be the lack of an actual taunt which is kind of the whole idea behind the tank.  Absorb the damage and keep aggro off the rest of the party.  I guess if you were putting out sick amounts of dps on all mobs, you would be able to maintain aggro that way, perhaps, but I think eventually that strategy isn't going to work as well as we might like/think.  Just how exactly is a non-tanking class going to continually grab aggro from other party members?  This becomes even more important since there isn't an aggro indicator like in most traditional MMO's.

I don't have any experience with tanking in the game at this stage.  I'm not sure how taunt skills work when it comes to pvp either.  I would assume they force other players to target the tank for 'x' amount of time.  If you can't force the focus of attacks on yourself as the tank, how is that going to work?

Or are we basically talking about a shift in traditional tanking equaling a shift in traditional tactics, for example, dps knowing there is no taunt to save them so they have to go easy on the attacks so as to not draw unnecessary aggro?  Seems like that would be considerably more viable PVE rather than PVP.  Or is it redefining 'tank' as one who can take the most punishment and still stand, versus the taunting and forced aggro control?

tanking is a much different game in eso, from what i understand just standing the closest to a mob without even attacking builds aggro and there are taunting skills that are not class based and with members of your party potentially being plate wearing sorcerers the tank shouldnt be the only one who can take a little damage, and on top of that there will be a lot of cc abilities for the tank and the dps

I think that works for PVE because the mobs are controlled by the AI.  I don't think it's as viable for a non-tanking class in PVP due to the nature of player choice.  I could be wrong, obviously.  I'm just basing my comment from what I have read, watched, and seen in-game to this point.

There are no non-tanking classes in ESO. Any class can learn to use a sword and shield and heavy armor.

you might be right about pvp Troy but i plan on pvping with an all out dps, or maybe a healer rather than a tank anyway, though ill use my tank if it ends up working at all, at the very least i should be able to sit in a group of allies and just do whatever dps and cc i can :P
