I am not sure how well this hybrid will work in the end. After all its still theorycraft and I need to decide the most beneficial enchants and mundus stones. This build already has two crafting skills selected along with the racial passives.

However the good thing is that I am able to train the main skill lines I want(with soul magic) relatively swiftly by having one skill from them slotted(while I go around the countryside pressing E and R for all the crafting materials :D ).  There are some situational utility skills for AvA(like magelight), one spamskill on both sets. I have tried to get as much of AOE skills in as possible without getting bogged down by too many long casting times.  Comments and suggestions are more than welcome

I personally, wouldn’t neglect dawns wrath. Simply because restoring spirit.  Its one of the only magicka management passives templars get. Is it needed for AvA? no, but its probably going to be needed for pve content. It would be a shame to hit 50 and not put any levels on the Dawn's wrath tree.

Also I notice you're wearing heavy armour. While in pve heavy is pretty good, in pvp its not great (unless your tanking pve guards). You'll find that spell resist is a much higher value in AvA than armour. Also you apparently can get the overcharged armour de-buff with medium armour. This paradigm may shift come launch, but at the moment medium and light are the more attractive for AvA.

There are other things down Support, Assault and Fighters Guild that id consider picking up, but, these are more personal choices and game play. Not real issues.

So basically I personally wouldn’t neglect Dawns Wrath and I'd consider medium/light armour. However my opinion on the latter may change come launch.

However, in pvp, wearing the light armor sort of labels you as a healer or magic reliant caster, which sort of puts a target on you as squishy and priority.   Basically get rid of the one who is healing (cause lets face it, if your healing, you want magicka, magicka regen and light is the only armor that boosts this), and if not the healer, your one of them glass cannon types, relying on magicka to bring the nukes.    That being said, it will be hard to say what build is what in what armor, but it is pretty much a given however that any real healers will want that magicka restoration and reduce spell cost so more than likely in pvp that will bring you as a target.

So heavy armor might be a fair tradeoff, at least if you mix the two for pvp, taking light armor belt and helmet at least because those are easy to hide.   Also why does everyone forget that heavy armor does provide spell resistance.  The same passive for it provides armor by a % and spell resistance as well.  It might not be a ton, but it still is spell resistance.

Was playing a Templar in beta and healed in the first dungeon today and maintaining magicka (mana pool)  was not easy. Regen is key!!

ill likely level dawns wrath in place of the undaunted's blood altar. Thank you for the comments so far :) I have been thinking mostly to have regen things on my heavy armor. Going for magicka regen/spell resist with mundus and an enchant complementing that wouldn't be a bad choice either

CaptainYamerica your build seems nice :) However I prefer to have a ranged weapon on me, even if I have gap-closers.  Did some slight tweaking on mine based on yours. I will switch magelight to something else when not on AvA(like the power bash)

Hello All,

This is a good thread as I am attempting to replicate my Captain from Lotro. Here is what I came up with. I am leaning towards a Lead the Charge build on my main swap two-hander, and survivability and healing on my alternate swap.

Please critique ruthlessly,

Cari

With how slow Ultimate builds now, I use Radial Sweep (armor buff morph) exclusively.  Magelight is awesome in AvA (spell crit morph); I replace it with Silver Bolts in pve since there are lots of undead to kd.  The pull (SB morph) may go well with your build.  Temperial is a lot of fun to play!
