Hey! - thanks for the info!
been running in keep sieges 40-50 on screen at once and have not dropped below 17 FPS
Worse today for me than it was before hotfix :-/
Well I had high hopes for this but it just extends the problem for a short time.
Although we went longer without the problem occurring it is still there. It took 20-25 min to get down to 3 FPS.
It is a memory leak in the ESO code that has something to do with the the AvA scripting.
Memory leaks explained in short terms.
A memory leak can diminish the performance of the computer by reducing the amount of available memory. Eventually, in the worst case, too much of the available memory may become allocated and can not be reclaimed by the system, so the application fails or the system slows down unacceptably.
When new memory is allocated frequently for a one-time tasks, such as rendering the frames of a computer game or animated video, the code does not free up the memory for reuse and it slowly fills until the available memory is to low to allow a decent frame rate.
IMHO the new fix did not do much other than slow down the problem, this at least means they are on the correct track.
What it means for us is that we needed to reboot from scratch to clear memory about every 20 min. Running at a low frame rate allowed the enemy to see and kill us long before we could see them.
Some people claimed that by going out of AvA to the megaserver would clear memory the problem was there was a que of 7-10 to get back into ava. Trying to port to a player that was in AvA did not work, so you had to wait in the que to re-enter.
That's all I know for now. Hoping the get it fixed sooner than later.
@Mynrbird, Good to hear the travel to player capability has been removed for campaigns, another confirmation wouldn't hurt ;P
Just to note, you can still travel to players inside campaigns. Just not when it is at capacity.
mine ran real good for most of the guild event last night till about 2 and a half hours in where I dropped to 2 FPS and wasn't coming back up.. so much better then before, but still a problem
