I guess as a curtsey I would let whoever still subbed know that I am staying :D. I am still enjoying the game and I'd like to give it a chance.
I don't play that much so you can't really count on me on dungeons or AvA. But I will be filling out market orders if I have the skills.
When I decide not to sub I will leave quietly, because I don't want to disturb those still playing it and enjoy it.
well I have to say this does make me happy, seeing so many say they are canceling is very discouraging, so to hear that you are sticking with us is wonderful..

When this month's payment gets closer I will resub for the 6 month package and hopefully finish getting my 4th class to veteran rank.

There is a difference between a rant, and letting the family know when you won't be around rather than have people think you simply don't care enough about the family to quietly explain your absence.
Those of us who can't log in at all wish you all the best. Our absence is not a reflection on this guild family, and simply reflects other factors in play. We will miss you.

Aye, true that Tyrra. However, I'm not sure that the forums having a bunch of posts on each side (staying or not) is beneficial. I fully expect our guild leadership to note how many are participating, what is going on, and how everything is as a general state of affairs.
That is not to say that we shouldn't express our frustrations and joys at the game, but rather that we probably don't need more threads on the topic of sub/not-subbing anymore. It really tends to create more drama than intended, and in the long term it does not promote a great deal of positive discourse. Of course, that is merely my take upon it.
I'm not going anywhere. I love ESO and don't see any reason not to keep having an awesome time playing. Good to see there are more like me! To be honest, I really don't understand what all the negativity is about.

I don't have a problem with 'I love/hate this game' or 'I'm leaving/staying in this game for x reasons' posts. Whether they have a practical use is besides the point. We are all playing games on the internet so it's not like we're being super productive anyways.
We should be tolerant of other people's views even if we disagree with them. If and when those views become too disruptive for this website, then there will be action taken.
What we should not do is put thinly veiled shots at other family members into our posts. That is a violation of our most basic tenet. Please be civil with each other.
I'm here standing tall - well not so tall on the wood elf but the others are slightly taller - and not planning on going anywhere.
Remember there is always a huge influx into the family when a game starts and then the tide goes out after the first free month and then it ebbs. Has happened with every game I have been in - even games like COD franchise. So I never think too much of it. I enjoy the game and love the world and then there is always the thrill of finding a new cliff to jump off - that just never gets old.
I'm still here too, and plan to be for some time but, there is one issue I submit to you may seem like a small one when compared to the game-play issues we all deal with daily.
I have seen others make reference to not feeling like they are in a guild even if we do have 100's of members on at the same time. And others have stated they have the feeling when adventuring of being in a solo game even if there are swarms of players all around.
The issue IMHO is that there are no names and guild tags over our heads!
This seemingly small point makes it difficult to remember others you have had positive encounters with and equally difficult to have positive feelings toward other players and their guilds.
No names and guild tags may help the single player crowd feel at home but it destroys any chance for the MMO possibilities of the game to shine!
I love the game and always forgive any shortcomings or problems with patients and try to be understanding that not everything is going to be "my way" but I do believe this is something needing to be changed sooner rather than later as it would help with the sense of community and account retention too!

Subbed for 3 months a week or so ago. I love the ES universe.
I'm having a lot of fun with the game, about to hit vr11 and after slogging my way though every zone but reapers march, am still enjoying the group, solo and AVA aspects of the game quite a bit. Looking forward to doing the last 4 VR dungeons and the trials soon.
In my mind the game is a good value, there are some single player games I will be playing and some other multi-player games like Dayz but I see this keeping my attention for the indefinite future.
I think they leave the nametags off for immersion purposes. But yeah, it is kinda hard to tell who people are in this game. I use an addon that colors the reticle a green color when the person I mouseover is a guildie. Then again, I belong to 3 other guilds so I'm not sure which guild he's a member of lol.
The single player rpg experience works well with the storyline I think. If you forced more grouping into the main quest line, I don't think you get as good a story being told. Of course, the complaint about the single player experience might be referring to the extra long VR level questing.
Maybe it was due to the server transfers but I thought we actually increased our numbers in Rift after the first month or two. Perhaps ESO is not going to be the next 'WoW Killer' as far as popularity goes but I think the reports of it's imminent demise are a bit exaggerated.
I choose to play games where there is a Gaiscioch presence. I also believe that it is nothing more than common courtesy when other guildies post they are leaving one game for another, or are taking a leave of absence for real life issues. As a guild, we are connected like a family.
I have gratitude for these posts. If it weren't for these posts, I would never have known other guildies, like Tyrra, are having the same login issues that I'm experiencing.
When the game is fixed, and allows me to login and play, I would like to experience the game as you have. Until then, I have my eyes open for other gaming opportunities.
P.S. To those of you who have posted youtube content of ESO gameplay, keep sharing! It's the next best thing for those of us who can't log in to play.
Yes Bentmer, In rift we went from 2,300 people at launch to a little over 770 3 months later. Over the next year we grew to 2,700 people. Every game we've been in, RIFT, GW2, ESO we have seen a massive surge followed by a mass exile, followed by a repopulation with people who are there to stay.
As I said in the very first announcement that we were moving into ESO. ESO may not be the game for all, it will be the home for many. We will continue to grow and nurture our family there. There's no need for panic, hostilities, or finger pointing. Everything we have seen is common and normal. Now's the time that we build off of the core that remains and welcome in some newer players.
I'm holding my breath until the client is stable enough to run on my computer, hopefully not too long. But until then, I will just enjoy summer, and go hiking in the mountains.
Or maybe if the finance department could authorize a new one, that would be nice if she would do that.
Still working on my 90 day sub... However, I will be renewing it for 6 months this time.
It's got bad things wrong but it also has a ton of things right. I still like it better than anything else out there that I've tried.
Oh and well said Fog. I've seen this in every MMO that I have been a part of. This just happens to be the first one that I have been a member of Gaiscioch to experience the fluctuations with. It will level out.

I agree if there is an option to turn on name tags and guild tags it would have help on the community building. Maybe they will do it at some point.
This might hurt our guild's growth in this game too. In previews games people see our guild tag and get to know the guild from there. In ESO players might only notice us when we use GSCH in AvA zone chat.
In ESO I don't know how folks "guild-hunt" so to speak, the only source of guild information seem to come from guilds advertizing in zone chat.
In other games you can play with other players and think to yourself, "this guy is cool and I see that guild tag quite a few times" and intrigued by that guild, in ESO you need to ask and it is one more barrier.

Is your computer older than mine :D? I am running on a computer I bought in 2007. Granted it is quad-core and I added some memory and put in a graphic card better than the stock one. It runs ESO fine though.
Sometime it is possible that graphic card and amount of memory might be all the difference.
I'm still subbed but I started a new job a while ago and have been busy, stressed and tired and just haven't had time to play at all. I will be continuing to sub though and hope to get some time to play again when my schedule settles into more of a routine

yep my pc i bought in july 08 for Warhammer , it still has the Q9300 Quad core intell processer 4 cores at 2.5 mhz .
I added a nivida 560 gtx 1 g onboard ram vid card , and boosted ram from 6g to 8g but it seems to run eso fine as well .
Don't know if it is older, but it was build on a very hard budget (2 pc's at $400 ea) to just run Warhammer. It is a Core 2 duo with a GTX 260 and newly upgraded ram to 8Gb.
So there is room for upgrading and I am working on making a whole new system (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6F67vK) that can follow me for awhile, but I am still in the "are you crazy" phase of the financing and as soon as I work past that, then I will fine tune the build.
But it is at least not a Hello Kitty toaster.

It's not that the glass is half full, the glass has a 50% overall inefficiency.
There is no half full with me. It's full or empty. Full on its way to me. Empty when it arrives. Ask any waiter ; p.
I would get mad at my waiter if all my drinks arrived empty :p
Newbie-guildie here who joined with ESO launch with some lowbie toons in game. Sadly, ESO just hasn't "captured" me. I like it well enough and understand why others like it but I just am not connected or engaged. That being shared, the one part that I regret is that I am still very much a fan of Gaiscioch. So my question merely is - If I'm not actively playing a game, may I still stick around as a member/lurker until I either rejoin all of you in this game or the next?

Yep once a member always a member as far as i know . just because you aren`t in the game with us , doesn`t make you any less of a member . hope to see you in a game with us soon .

What kind of a sect would we be, if we let people go ... Hmm, that came out wrong. Games are where many of us met, but not a requirement for sticking around while waiting for another game.
you are welcome to stay as long as you want and if you keep an eye on the forum, then you can hook up with others that tries out other games.

As others have said, you're always family, regardless of how many games you're playing, and that's what I love most about Gaiscioch. There are plenty of discussion threads in The Tavern section of the forum that aren't just related to our official games, so it's a nice friendly place to just keep in touch.
Also, for ingame Gaiscioch withdrawal... Guild Wars 2, where we also have a Gaiscioch chapter, is currently on sale through their digital store at half price (there's no sub, just the cost of the game) if you're at all interested. You'll find some of the same folks that you met in ESO also playing GW2.
