So, prior to todays patch the Warlock set came in two different "tiers" - Regular Warlock items ranged from level ~16 to ~23 (iirc) and Veteran Warlock items were VR1. Warlock is a great set for most Magicka users due to the 3 piece "Magicka Flood" set bonus that says when you drop below 33% Magicka you get 33% of your Max Magicka back (1 minute internal cooldown).
I used my level 20ish Magicka set (neck and 2 rings) from when I got them until VR 1 or 2 when I replaced them with the VR1 versions. I still use the VR1 green versions (can't upgrade jewelry to blue/purple yet) today as a VR10.
With the new patch and trials they have made it so the first 3 bosses drop a set piece that already exists in the game as a blue and either VR10 or equal to your VR (the group I was in was all VR10 so we don't know if the drops were scaled to our level or set at VR10). Either way that is a nice upgrade to get Blue VR10 versions of sets that only dropped as Green VR(something less than 10). Unfortunately I didn't get any Warlock pieces myself, I think I got Storm Knight, Salvation, Syrabane, maybe some others. I saw multiple other people get Warlock items though, as well as Akaviri Dragonguard VR10 Blues, Necromancer - it seemed a pretty good spread. I don't think I saw any Magicka Furnace stuff but that could just be rng.
Anyways, just wanted to share the good news with you guys in case there were any other Warlock lovers out there like me =)
