PVE Events for Non-hardcore players

I've noticed a lot of PVE events are well beyond my level. My highest character is level 33 and I have alts coming up through the ranks. I'm not going to hit VR any time soon, and I have no desire to put in the kind of hours it would take to do so.

I'm wondering if there is any interest in trying to get more PVE events going for casual players who aren't at the higher levels yet. I'd be willing to set some up and run them myself, with the caveat being that I find people who run events always seem to have a great deal of knowledge of the aspects of the game relating to their event, so I'd need time to prepare.

For those who aren't even within sight of VR yet, what levels are most of your characters? What kind of events would you like to see?

Unlike with GW2, I'm finding very few Guild events that are workable for me (either due to time, or to level requirements; I've been told PvP isn't viable until the VR levels, if not VR10). I'd like to remedy the situation by setting up some events for those of us who play more casually.

I too am interested in some PvE events. I have two alts in their early 20's and a couple more much lower. With both of my lvl 20's, I've been mostly doing PvP events and on off days just do solo questing PvE.

It is really not the case regarding not being viable in PvP until you are VR!!! I have had so much fun, have gotten to know many new family members and have earned new skills grouping several times a week for PvP. A great example of my point is that Fog himself has led his PvP events on his then lvl 12! So don't let not being a VR detain you from participating.  :-)

Back to your post for PvE events. I am definitely interested as basically I too am pretty much a casual player. I just can't devote hours upon hours to game play. I'm Pacific time and mostly have a limited range of 5pm to 9pm. Sometimes I sneak in some afternoon time during the week and on weekends. I'd like to learn the level appropriate dungeons (have only done Fungal Grotto once).

well to start off, pvp is viable at all lvls,  the problem you will have, till the next big patch I believe is that the exp from it is low so it doesn't help you lvl really...  that's why a lot of ppl say its not viable,  any lvl can make a difference in ava, you may die faster then other but all dps or heals are welcome in ava....

think for the event the biggest problem is that its much harder to group and run stuff then GW2,  there are dungeon runs that could be put in,  but those are usually done more on the fly then organised.... you could have anchors and skulls to hit in certain zones...  you could have public dungeons....

if you come up with any kind of event that you would like to run and need help either to organise them or run them, let me know, I don't know everything about eso but I've tried a bit of everything :)

I am considering doing a full EP dolmen clear some night.  Would that be of interest?
There would be no level restrictions on the event, so long as we have enough people at level to clear them.
As for other things, the zone clear zergs have moved on toward Eastmarch and the Rift, but if enough people wanted one it could be done.  Dungeons are another thing people seem to have had issues with, but mostly when looking for a full at level group *At least, I see several other people than myself volunteering to run people through when they need another.*

Streepike, please allow me to comment on PvP play from this beginners point of view.

I had never ever touched PvP before about two weeks ago and I my NB alt was level 12 at that time and now has only gotten to twenty!

Each and every leader has stated that all and any level adds help to the whole and has made me feel welcome and useful. And that includes all of our guild mates as well. Everyone is helpful and supportive with answers to questions or pointing in the direction of more help.

I have heard of some folks wanting to be high level before entering the war but with the help and support of the family, the sooner I start down the road of combat tactics and strategy knowledge, the sooner I will be able to help others. And I'm having a blast at the same time too!

And OH yes there has been things to learn... like following orders will keep me safe! lol

There are lots of different times and days on the ESO PvP calendar and some pop up at all hours too.

All in all I have been having the best gaming experience in a long time with a new adventure that was once thought to be off limit to this 15 year vet of the PvE world of EverQuest.

just my 2cp worth,

Tuz

@Steerpike: I suspect that if you are interested enough to post that means there are probably 10 or 20 other people who are just as interested but aren't posting. So my suggestion would be to post an event and see how it goes. Try a couple at different times to see if the turnout is affected by the time. Advertise the event in guild chat and/or ask an online elder to advertise it in all 5 guild chats about 10 to 20 minutes before it starts. I have no doubt that you'll get people interested.

I got a new home on the day ESO launched, and have enough real-life to keep my play hours low. I'm guessing there's a bunch of Gaiscioch who're moving through ESO slower than average.  One of the challenges is by our nature, we're limited in play time, so organizing events for part-time players may yet leave chunks of your target audience out.

On the plus side, even people with VR10 can play a lower-level alt, so just cuz an event is conceived of for slower-levelers, that doesn't mean everyone can't come along.

I'm not even VR yet and I have more time to play than a lot of people.  =)  I'm close though.

I spend most of my time doing PvE even if I've always loved PvP things like AvA.  My disability hasn't let me keep up like I need to.  I know the stuff I did in WvW while on GW2 was usually earlier in the day when I function better, but looks like I'm getting an online part-time job finally.  I'll actually be using this computer to make some dough besides goofing off.

I love the events that have you run after public dungeons, dolmens and world bosses because you need a group for all but the smaller soloable dungeons.  I was thinking of trying to set something up to do a different zone than what Denny is doing during each week, but got interrupted by a dying harddrive and now my internet is running in the abysmally slow mode of disaster since our wind and rain storm Friday.  Good news is they plan on having my neck of the boonies on fiber by the fall sometime.  YIPPPEE!

So I'm willing to help out with getting things going and I really know a lot about the game having been a long time tester.  I've already taught some of our newer Lorgairs how to post events they have run by letting them lead dungeon runs I help them with.

There are plenty of things to do in this game and LOTS of impromptu pick-up family groups going on.  Usually if you ask, you will get some help.  If asking in guild chat understand that it usually takes longer for a response than if asking on raidcall.  You might have to repeat yourself a couple times to see if anyone is interested.  Patience and persistence go a long way because there are plenty of people that probably want to do what you do.  Only fun part of organizing in this family is we have some sort of presence 24X7 and not everyone is a NA prime time player.

Don't mess with Mama Bear, I might hug you too tight. =D

I've been away a bit for some Army stuff.  I'll be setting up a series of PVE content events in the near future once I get my new PC built and running.  I'll announce something more specific when I get something down.  I'm a "Central" timezone player so I'm going to try to keep times that include both west and east coast.

Thanks for the responses, everyone. I've been traveling for work and have been MIA.

Good to know about PVP. From what some people were saying in game chat and in the official forums, I got the impression that PVP wasn't really viable until VR10. Looks like that was wrong, so I'll have to make my way back to Cyrodil!

I also am more of a "casual" player, so my characters are LVL 32 and 14. I have only been through Fungal Grotto once, since it is much easier to solo PvE than to find others for instanced dungeons. I have enjoyed the few Guild runs I have gone on (whether PvP, sky shard collecting, or what have you). If things work out time-wise I would definitely join you.

Best wishes!

I'm thinking of starting a Sorceress alt to play with the lower levels, but haven't gotten that far yet - maybe this weekend.  I also got a part time job working from home and start the training of that on Tuesday.  I'm hoping I get the morning shift because that works better for both myself and the hubby with his part time schedule.  Once I get through training maybe I can actually schedule events around what other people are doing.  Mine would be afternoon's eastern time if I do so that hits us at home peeps and some of the early Europeans.  Probably won't know until mid-June for sure of my schedule.  Not sure what the full time of the training to know the company stuff and then train for the contract team I get assigned to will be.

If I do dungeon events as well as open PvE ones, I will do my best to make sure we have a Lorgair or higher in every group who can post them.  I'll definitely train anyone who does not know the leadership system on how to post.  I definitely want others who want to lead to learn how and to step up to the plate.  =)  I like being the sideline elder that encourages people to learn and grow in the family rather than being a leader all the time.  And I'm too casual and been around long enough to want to do anything too seriously.  Sure I have to at times, but don't like it!

Two Points well separated

One I have had more fun (and experience ) in PvP in this game in the last two months than in any game I have played since before Lineage 2 was OB, and that with no character above lvl 15.

Two I also would like to see more PvE events in Stonefalls/Deshaan whether we are talking about Dolmens, World Bosses or Public Dungeons.  I also am Pacific TZ and at least at the moment am most likely to be available afternoons/evenings.
