VET 10 AvA Gear

I am reading a lot of posts on different forums that AvA points are pretty worthless outside of siege equipement and the rings and necklace.  I thought the purple Vet 10 gear looked pretty solid if you are focused on AvA but from what I am reading it is better to mix and match other sets for different 3 piece bonuses.  I am a DK that will be wearing 5H/2L, what is the opinion of those that have done more AvA then I or those number crunchers out there (Mystborn)?  Is the AvA Vet 10 gear worth spending you points on or should i really be looking for crafting bonuses?  BTW I am a 50 BS that has been reasearching a lot, I have a few pieces with 6 traits unlocked, no 8 trait pieces yet(dont think the game has been out long enough for anyone to have researched 8 traits yet.)

Those set bonuses look pretty juicy, 5% less damage from other players and 20% less damage from siege and player AoE?  That sounds pretty good but it does depend on what you could be taking instead.  You can still get a 3piece bonus between the 2 pieces of armour and weapon(s), and you have your jewelry slots for another possible set.

It also depends on what else you see yourself doing, neither the 4 or 5 piece bonus will be any help in PvE content.  If you're planning on doing Trials (like seriously raiding with a serious group) then there are a ton of new gear sets in there that drop off the end boss of each trial and some of those might be better.  There is also the new craftable set in Craglorn that gives Health/Armour/15% Reduced Ulti Cost as its 3/4/5 piece bonus.

In any case you might want to wait until craglorn patch and see what happens so you can get to VR12 and I imagine they'll have VR12 PvP gear then?

A better option then spending 650k ap for each item is to farm out the green version that comes from bags and enchant those upto legendary quality.

Another option is if you join a PvP VR guild you'll find all the pieces you want in the guild store usually cause al lthey do is farm ava all day. I just bought the entire set for about 15k a piece, just to have it if i ever decide to go pvping again.
