Time Zones

Hey all,

I'm sorry if this topic has been brought up somewhere else already, I spent some time digging and didn't see anything related.

My wife and I are pretty new to the family and don't know many of you yet (just joined right before ESO launch). We live in the central time zone. We have a limited amount of play time due to work, baby, etc. We've had a hard time participating in game events due to the events and time zones they're organized in. A recent block party on our street gave me an idea. I was wondering if there would be any interest in coming up with a sort of "neighborhood roster" organized by time zones or play times in hopes of getting to know the people we're most likely to be online with better. If there is something already in place that I haven't found yet, directions to it would be great. If not, is there any problems with trying to do this?

I don't think there's currently anything like that in place for the US timezones. To be honest, the 3 hour difference across the US timezones really doesn't seem to have an obvious population shift, compared to Oceanic (approx 15 hours ahead of server), and the EU (approx 5 hours ahead of server).

The Oceanic players (which includes anyone who plays in that timezone, not just those who live in it) have an unofficial system that utilizes the new (and extremely awesome) core room preferences. They've informally nominated Gaiscioch na Falias as their "base". The activity rooms (Gaiscioch and Gaiscioch na Murias) also help bring all the different timezones together, but since members can only be in one of those two, and the activity timer is shorter, the na Falias nomination helps to provide an extra safety net. Core room preference might be one way to identify and organize folks who are most likely to be online at the same time as you.

Thanks Tyrra,

While I realize that 3 hours probably isn't a lot to most people, for my wife and I the difference of 2 hours makes it near impossible to actually participate in some of the bigger events when combined with the day of the week the event is happening on. Which is perfectly okay, I was mainly just curious as to whether or not anyone else might be having the same issue and ideas for any way to work around it.

Rioga, Don't worry, most of our community is in the same place as you are. I myself am only able to play 6 hours a week in each game we live in. Life always comes first, we understand that and support you in it. From my experience we've got a 24/7 presence. Just check the 2 rosters you'll have in game and you should see plenty of people. Most events happen on the fly. Only a few are actually scheduled ahead of time. If you want to do something hop into RaidCall or ask in Guild theres almost always someone wanting to do something.

I'm a bit chatter in guilds chat,  and I am always willing to help guildies out, if you ever need anything, dungeon, world boss, anchor,  just give a shout out.....  this guild can be overwhelming at first because a lot of us have been playing together in other games,  or even real life....  I myself am still fairly new to the family and play strange hours sometimes...  but one thing for sure till I started asking for help or even just someone to tag along I hadn't realised out how ready ppl are to just drop everything and lend a hand.....

now things are still somewhat new in ESO and even though there doesn't seem to be many event that fit your timeslot in time you will see more and more events come up, or like Fog mention stat up just for the hell of it.. keep and eye out for guild chat and ears in RC, ther eis almost always something going on
