I was told that there should be a link that says check-in on the dashboard, but I didn't see it at all. Is it supposed to exist or should it not really show up until tomorrow? I thought it would should up on the 7th day, which would have been today. Instead I just clicked re-invite to be safe. When I looked at the dashboard not it re-invited me to Findias and Murias. Does it still leave me as a member of the main Gaiscioch room because that used to be my core room or will it remove me?

copied this from my dashboard, and I am guessing here but it seems fairly intuitive, if you have been active in collecting family honor points the check-in button may never show up. the key point is keeping the status good. If you have NOT been actively collecting FHP then check-in becomes important.
Once again this is just me guessing, I am still new here myself. BTW if your status is still good, I would not recommend requesting re-invite.
Check in only shows up when we haven't seen you do anything eso related on the site in a while. You'll notice it when it appears.
"Check in" is a triggered change in the Membership Command Center. When the inactivity timer triggers, you'll get a very eye-catching blue button that will be labelled "Check in". When you click it, you'll notice your "last activity" date stamp will update to the date you clicked the "Check in" button. So no need to worry, the timers run behind the scenes and trust me you'll notice when it happens.
Don't request a Re-invite unless you've been removed from either the main room (Gaiscioch or Gasiscioch na Murias) or your core room (Findias, Falias, Gorias) - you can check that by logging in to the game. If you're still guilded, you don't need a re-invite. That re-invite button is always visible, even when you're still guilded, so don't panic if you keep seeing it.
There are 2 timers in play, one for the main room (Gaiscioch or Gaiscioch na Murias) and one for your core room (Falias, Findias, Gorias). The main room has a lower inactivity trigger: 7 days website inactivity or 14 days game activity. The core room has a 45 day timer. If you time out of the main room, you can still chat in the core room while waiting for a re-invite.

Thanks for the replies back. I actually read that before it was posted, but that made me a bit confused still. My last activity time never updated so I was worried. I was also told that every 7 days I would have to click on check-in by another member. Thanks for clarifying it. Well I guess I will see which guilds I'm in when I log back into ESO after I'm done with my homework. Based on the re-invite I might be in three. Before I was in Gaiscioch and Findias. Now it's saying Gaiscioch na Murias and Findias. Again, thanks for the clarification.

Yeah it's tricky. The last activity date stamp in the membership command is looking at the 2nd timer (the 14 day one for the main room) that relates to specific activities (eg. using the marketplace, claiming participation in guild events) so that's the one that will trigger the blue button to check in if specific activities aren't recorded during that time. Hitting the Check-in button resets the timer.
The last website login timer (the 7 day one) triggers an email if you don't login for 7 days. Last website login is shown on your member profile page (the one people see when they click on your name).
It sounds complicated but it works really well for a guild the size of this one. There's absolutely no social "stigma" attached to inactivity during membership, either; the system just groups active players, and re-queues inactive ones when they return.

Due to space issues you should only be in one activity room Gaiscioch or Na murias. If you recieved a 3rd invite please decline it.
Sorry Izzy too late by this time, but I will go ahead and drop Na Murias since that was the one I got invited due to my mess up. Will there be a way to update the dashboard to show the one I stay in?
I noticed that claiming participation did not reset my timer for needing to check-in, nor did it update my last activity time on the front page.
Found a bug in one of the pages where sometimes participation wouldn't reset the timer. Fixed it this morning.
