Noob skill line question

I have a question about skill line progressions.  Let's say I pick a Bosmer for my archer type because of the bow experience bonus.  As I use the bow, my level in bow goes up.  The advancing bow levels allow me access to Poison Arrow, Volley, etc.  Once I have access to the highest ability under the bow skill line is there any other bonus that I get to continuing my bow level advancement?  I would continue to use the bow obviously, I was just wondering at the reason for picking a race for their xp bonus.  I can see how that would help at getting access to the skill line faster at lower levels, but what about after that?  I can understand something like Nightblade/Kajiit for the additional racial stealth bonus that would make you a more effective nightblade.  The Bosmer, has nothing that would make their base arrows do more damage.  Is there something I'm missing?  This is more of an endgame question.

I think, from what I've been seeing around the place, a lot of people are of the opinion that choosing a race for the xp bonus isn't really worth it and that other racial skills are better to focus on.

Fairly sure that those that would know for sure about endgame are still going to be under NDA, so you might have to rely on just the current description and current general opinion.

I thought the NDA had been lifted?  Or is that only for content up to a certain level?

Pretty sure the NDA is only lifted for the recent beta test weekend, so up to level 17 (if I remember the cap level correctly). Anyone that's in alpha and the full closed beta will still be under NDA. At least that's the way it usually goes :)

The XP bonus is nice for unlocking skills more quickly, but once you max out the skill, it serves no purpose.

Also, keep in mind that all classes can use stealth. The stealth bonuses from Bosmer and Khajit would be useful to any class, not just the Nightblade.

True, but I'm assuming that with the racial bonuses, Kajiit are sneakier.....  :)

NDA is still in effect for those who are alpha testers, beta testers have only seen up to 17 (if that lucky)

To make sure that I understand this....In dual wielding, all other things being equal, no skill line special abilities being used, a player with 10 level  in dual wielding would be an even match for a player with a 100 level in dual wielding?

Once you max out your abilities in a skill, I would believe the skill would actually stop leveling.  With no need for excess levels in a skill, and not seeing the levels actually increase damage or anything along those lines then there would be no need to keep leveling a skill past the point when you max out the unlocking/morph of all abilities in a tree.  If that makes sense.  At least that is my opinion.  With the NDA still in place for Alpha/closed beta testers, we more than likely will not know until launch.

Yes it is for gaining the top end skills faster. that is it. once maxed.  it is done. no more purpose.
