ESO allowing more than one guild

Not certain how many of you already new this, cause I just got around to looking into it. But, seems if there are enough of us playing ESO and we can't all fit in one guild, we can do the same thing as we did here in GW2

On TESOElite, they have snippets of a conversation with paul sage.

Wow this store/auction system blows. This system will be too easy to exploit and seems more exclusive than inclusive.

It does encourage having to link up with others, however. It's not like your WoW AH where you can just type in what you want. And if you can't find it one place, you can find it another place, unlike other AHs where if it's not there, it's not there.

Personally I think this could be a huge boon for the crafting community - where crafters can make their own guilds - trade guilds - that sell their wares.   The question that I have is - how easy is it to join these guilds?

Now the very first thing that came to my mind was our own family and all the crafters that we have in it.  Basically this will be like our own market place within the game.  The Tuatha Trading & Salvage Consortium could be a very big thing for our guild and our alliances.  

I think it can be a great thing - but just like all other things - when it comes to new games - we'll have to wait and see.  But with the innovators that we have in our guild - I think the system will work fine for us.  If you hadn't noticed by now - I'm a "glass half full" kind of gal...  :)

It seems to me that Zenimax is doing everything they can to make ESO a fabulous game. They seem to be putting lots of things in place to make some really cool stuff happen. I'm really looking forward to launch next year.

I have to say most of these ideas sound convoluted and not very convenient to me. So outside of Gaiscioch having a crafter's guild/store that would sell at a discount to members, nothing really sounds appealing.

I had a whole bunch typed up but I decided to summarize by saying this sounds like it'll be a mess, and it seems like it'll cause more problems than it'll solve (and to be truthful, I'm sort of mystified as to what problems they're trying to solve here, other than maybe with just one megaserver they don't want to have to put in the infrastructure to handle a bajillion people searching a central Auction House all at once).

Of course, if there was only some way I could test these ideas out on my own... well, that would be just peachy! Just sayin!

I think they are attempting to make it more "real world" if the world was actually set in the realm of Elder Scrolls.  That is to say you have a group of people that love to adventure together - they form a guild.... but most of them are like me - I hate to craft (hate may be too strong of a word - I would just rather be off adventuring than standing at a forge).  So this one person of the small guild - whom she dearly loves to fight with - needs an outlet as a crafter.  This not only includes selling - but trading for materials, recipes, and all other things crafting so she joins The Tuatha Trade & Salvage Consortium where there are 200 other crafters she can converse with about "best possibles", trade with for supplies and recipes, make bargains, and then list her wares on the TT&SC market which supplies armor, weapons, etc to possibly 1000 member submarket of buyers.

With the ability to join 5 guilds you could be in 3 or 4 guilds just for the market.   And yes, there may be some issues but no more than any other AH.   I also see it as a way to keep down market prices - who is going to want to be a member of a trade guild that charges the highest prices (believe - it will get out which Trade Guild(s) to belong to - who has the best prices.   Personally, I think it is quite clever and since Gaiscioch has always been a leader in new ideas - I think we have some crafters that can take off and run with this.  New events even spring to mind - massive harvesting contests - crafting contests within this guild branch - Crafting and Marketing Leaders for this branch - we have a couple of great economists in our guild.   Fog will always be the one true leader (gawd, starting to sound like a cult follower, but now we could have Elders just over this branch that were never Elders before.  We need to look at this aspect of the game as a new challenge - and when has Gaiscioch not met it challenges head on - NEVER!

And as far as the last part - there is still 8 months - give or take - for testing.  Just keep checking your e-mail every day like I do for that invite.  :) 

Consortium...hmmm.... Interesting word... Not very Tuatha-esque IMO though. When I think Consortium, I think the Consortium in WoW, the Ethereals who are just as miserly as the Goblins.

Ohhh - stop thinking about WOW - and it was just a name I made up :)   replace it with Alliance if you like :)

Sounds like we should create three guilds, one for each alliance, and trade with one another that way.

Just a thought...

It would be tough to have a guild in each alliance - since there is suppose to be AvA and we could end up fighting each other - that only breeds contempt within the ranks. People start bragging; people start feeling bad; people start attempting to exact revenge; verbal wars start - even if in the beginning it is all "fun and games" - it never stays that way. 

I can't really speak for Fog nor would I ever - but I would hate to see us have guilds in all the alliances - it would really hurt the family - imho - if we do that.    We need to pick one and stick with it - as far as I am concerned.    A trade alliance run by our crafters would be nice for them - and bring more meaning to their efforts than probably most of the games we've played.   We still need so much info on this - can't wait to see how it unfolds in the next 6 -8 months.

  Reminds me of the old DAOC  system maybe where each guild had a guild house and a porch with a npc  merchant on the porch selling items that the guild crafted or found as loot and they didn`t need .  .
