Elder Scrolls Online Saighdear/Interest Check Listed

Greetings Everyone,

I added the Elder Scrolls Saighdear page to the site. Be sure to sign up for it if you're interested in playing with the family in Elder Scrolls Online. We are looking at a 2 prong approach to ESO.

1: Does it meet our families requirements (My internal compatability chart)

2: Is there a great enough interest in the game to support a full Gaiscioch chapter.

If there are more than 500 of you interested in playing Elder Scrolls Online with the family we will consider it an option for expansion.  Be sure to mark it off as something you would like to do on the homepage or on the Elder Scrolls Online page.

I will be playing, I signed up for the closed beta! I am hoping that the 3 factions doesn't end up like the Rift Conquest, where everyone goes into two factions and the third is the redheaded stepchild.

I'm interested in playing. Out of curiosity, do you have any idea what faction Gaiscioch is leaning towards or is it far to early to decide?

It's all written on the Saighdear page Nightsong.

Kind of bummed that races are divided up by factions... looks like no Khajiit for me... Good thing Ebonheart at least gets Argonians =p

I really need to do more research on the races in our Faction. I am particular to one but just like in GW2 I was particular to the Norns - and then got rid of all my Norns... so I may have to wait until the game releases and see if they do anything strange with my race. I also need to see if there is actually any difference besides a few points one way or another in a particular stat... I mean from the description on our Saighdear page Argonians is the best fit for the classes I like to play - but if there is no difference in base stats or abilities - then it matters not except for looks and voices. The other thing I find interesting is that we will require 500 people to show interest. I'd be surprised if we hit that mark on the site before release. After release I think we will probably have the 500 or more in the guild if the ESO is all that we are hoping it will be. I know we have 90 at this moment, but in my experience few guild members read the stuff on the site past the home page and wouldn't even log into the site if they didn't get kicked out for being absent. If 500 express interest on the site - that means we'll probably double that in the game - which is good. But if we get 250 showing interest - I'm sure we'll hit the 500 in game the first month.... just my thoughts. Safe journ... ps. Just as a side notion... I wish gaming companies that did these faction alignments would make it so that you could choose a the race you really want and then do an elaborate quest chain which would then let you be aligned with a different faction. It would be totally awesome and I know in a couple of games I would have totally gone through the process if they had let me. For one thing it lets me play the race I would really love... for another it would be an awesome RP experience. I'm talking about an epic journey that you can do once - not some casual "Visit to change alignment" and do it as often as you want. I mean an entire quest line that might take several weeks - one time offer. Yes, I would do that.

I'm signed up for Beta but have not gotten an invite yet. They need to hurry up and give me one!! 8) I've played all the way back to Morrowind So this is something I will be playing.

How do you sing up for the page so that I may run with the Family when the game comes out? Thanks nightfall

If you are speaking about the link Fog has in the original post... once you click on the link > look over to the top right > and then click on the button that says "Join Saighdear" and this will put you on the interest list as a member. If that isn't what you are speaking of.... well then I don't know what you are speaking of ;)

I signed up for beta a while back but I haven't gotten an email yet. I would love to play it, I have played all the games up to now and I still play Dragons Age about once a week with my kids. Hopefully I will get an invite soon.

I am so into this. I'm definatly going to be appart of our family in ESO. and what's best you have my favorite race in there. Dark Elves. YAY.

I'm hoping we see more interest generated when they release more info and actually get closer to release. As it appears now, the Family will still have quite an interest in the game. And once we have a presence in it, we seem to have a way of attracting more people that will join our merry band :)

Playing the Devil's Advocate, I am not surprised at the lack of interest so far. TESO doesn't have much of a hype machine going at the moment, so unless folks are either an Elder Scrolls fanbois or they've read some of the supportive posts here on the GSCH forums, then they probably are not sold on this game, yet. I mean look at Neverwinter... it has more interest with the Family than TESO does right now, even with its release issues. If it wasn't for Fog's supportive comments, TESO would barely be on my radar at this time. Even gaming fan sites are sparse on coverage of TESO. Forgot to add, that I'm one of those who is waiting for more information before I click the button, and tbh, I'll require some hands-on playtime before I decide if it will be of interest to me. Reading about it won't be enough, because I have nothing to compare to or identify with, since I've never played the ES games.

@Sek... I wouldn't measure it's Interest based on the number currently up. I've only had that up a week and the majority of the people interested are not actively visiting the site. Once I send the newsletter watch that number. Once the ball gets rolling you'll see that number snowball. Neverwinter has 2 weeks on the saighdear list more than ESO. Plus it's actually launched. We had 19 people interested in ESO when I launched it. Everything you see is post launch. ESO on the other hand has a post a mile long about it. Interest Check: Elder Scrolls Online 185 Replies 2724 Views Look at who's replied. Barely any of them play GW2 at this point which means there's very little reason to visit the site daily. As we near launch that number is going to swell quite drastically.

@Sekk Slightly off topic regarding the MMO but I highly recommend picking up Skyrim if you happen to see it on sale at some point. While it isn't as detailed as the earlier games like Daggerfall or Morrowind it still does a great job of providing an open ended fantasy RPG. I still haven't finished the main story in it even though I spent the better portion of 3 months playing it.

I am saddened by this. :( How were the factions chosen? Wait does it matter? Don't worry Fog no matter how or whom chose the faction for us, I will blame you Fog. :( No Khajiit, no Breton for me! Wait! Fog... you just might survive this... I should blame ZeniMax Online Studios for locking me out of a whopping 2/3's of the games content?

Celtic themed realm. We always go with the celtic theme when we can. Nothing stops you from playing the other 2 sides. Theres no account wide faction lock. You can have one of each if you like.

Pretty careful consideration on the factions and I'm sure many factors came into play. At the end of the day, however, as a Family we can only pick one and I think Ebonheart Pact is a good fit. Personally I prefer Nords, so thats cool, but we also have the dark elves for folks that enjoy a more sinister character. The Argonians are so exotic :) I think this particular choice gives us a really nice variety and probably the best diversity in landscapes and backgrounds for our homeworlds. Just my 2 coppers.

Our homelands will also be the world of skyrim and morrowind and I know a lot of you played those two games and will recognize a lot of the landmarks. The nords are very heavy on celtic influence. Bretons have a bit as well but their paired up with the redguard (pirates) and orc and their focus is on war. Plus their homelands is mostly desert. The elves... well play an elder scrolls game. The elves are not lord of the rings style. A: their ugly. B: theyre snobs. C: they treat others like crap all the time. Not very Gaiscioch. Our focus is on freedom from persecution. Survival. Unity in unlikely situations. Plus were uniting 3 races that lore wise dont have the most friendly relations with each other. Roleplay wise its a goldmine.

I really wanted to be an elf in ESO, but now that I read the reasons for this alliance I can see the better of it:) I would like to play a dark elf though, they seem mysterious and interesting. And yes elves would not fit the lore very well haha.

So... I might play a dark elf? The last time I played a dark elf it was not the nicest person you could meet. Let see, fled home lands just before an execution because I BELIEVED I had a right to rule (defying both the matriarch and the Goddess), sacrificed first child(unborn, oh and the mother too) to a demon lord just to get the familiar of MY choice(not willing to leave it to random chance or the whims of the gods) oh and there was more. About the nicest thing that character did was to move through a small village putting the inhabitants to sleep for has companions, it was only nice because most of them died in their sleep, well for the most part, some of them did not. Naw, I think I will skip on role-playing the evil heartless bastard, to much like real life (just ask my wife.)

It will be a tough choice for me... a lot will depend on if there are any stat differences or racial qualities... or if it is all moot by end game. I can work with being gimped for a while... just not forever. I created a Barbarian Shaman in EQ (original) and was told it was a poor choice on class/race combination since their stats didn't work well with as a spell caster (very low Int and not so good on Wis, either)... well by level cap my INT and WIS were maxed out anyway with the gear I used. A Barbarian Shaman was just cool :) I also like the Dark Elves... so I have options. I knew from reading the descriptions that there was only one choice for us... and I whole heartedly endorse the choice. Nords are just cool. edit... Just wanted to add: We have doubled our "interest" numbers in just a week and that is for the people who actually "joined" and doesn't count those that are sitting on the fence and will come down to join us after a while. (when I hit the button I was number 88 and now we are over 180 ... 0)

I've been waiting for an Elder Scrolls MMO for a long time. Been a huge, huge fan of the series! Yeah I'm up for this!!! :)

should be fun I had a barb shaman alt in oldschool EQ as well as a dark elf mage and dark elf wizard , also a human pally, monk, halfling ranger and half elf bard . hmm may have to make a shadowknight darkelf like good old dragoon zylt from west commons haha . a barb shaman type will be fun also . made one in skyrim

I joined. If the family goes with the game as a Chapter, then I'll definitely play. Otherwise, I'll have to wait until I get some Open Beta time before I can decide. Atm, GW2 is still my main drug of choice. :)

15 More people and we clear the minimum required interest for ESO to become an official chapter. Then all we'll need to pass is the Qualifications. Interest + Qualifications = Happy Branch :). Still have almost a year to go till it's release so it's safe to say things are looking good :).

Delayed games are always a good thing, unless you hear that its due to funding.  Then its a not-so-good thing.  In this case, its a good thing.  That time frame should pretty much be owned by them, because I can't think of anything else slated to release in that window.  I'm concerned about their multi-platform decision that might cause guilds and communities to fragment, but on the plus side, the delay gives the gaming communities plenty of time to discuss and iron out how they want to handle any possible platform splits.

edit: No, I don't mean us.  Remember that I've said before that I tend to generalize when I write opinions.

I love all the old Elder Scrolls games and can't wait for this one...

I've said that exact thing for quite a while.. Have seen it in another game (thinking EQ2, but don't quote me on that) and it was great. Love the idea - allow us to change our mind and alter some aspect of our character's story, but make us work for it. I would expect ESO to EVENTUALLY allow something of the sort....unless there's something in the racial differences which, in some way, contributes to balance of the factions.

The racial divide is a cornerstone of elder scrolls lore. Eso is based on the civil war period of time where thst divide was strongest.
